Chapter 261 Questioning

Asher and Lyanna stood side by side on the tall watchtower.

Asher said confidently, "Mom, I got revenge for Molly."

"Asher, you did good." Lyanna replied.

After Anna was taken to the hospital by the prison guards, she underwent another examination.

Billy was the first to get the test results and immediately sent them to Emma. "Confirmed, it's syphilis."

A satisfied smile spread across Emma's face, and she felt a surge of joy. She had always hoped Anna would pay for her actions, and now, this news was the greatest satisfaction she could imagine.

But Anna's illness alone wasn't enough to quell her inner hatred.

Meanwhile, Billy secretly sent a text message to Sophia from an unknown number: [Your daughter Anna was diagnosed with syphilis after having sex in prison.]

Sophia had just learned that Anna had killed Molly and was still in shock when she received this devastating news.

"This can't be true." Sophia's voice trembled, and her eyes filled with tears.

Before Anna discovered she was their biological daughter, she and Molly had been good friends. How could she have killed Molly?

Why did all of this happen?

Sophia sent the video to the tech department's lead. "I don't care how you do it, but restore the audio in this video for me!"

"Yes, ma'am."

Even though the video clearly showed Anna killing Molly, Sophia refused to believe it. She needed to hear it from Anna herself.

After the diagnosis, Anna was deemed unfit to return to prison and needed to stay in the hospital for a while.

While processing her admission, her gaze unintentionally fell on the window of a hospital room and suddenly stopped.

Through the transparent glass, she saw George lying quietly on a hospital bed, asleep. Anna's heart sank as if something had gripped it tightly. Memories of George, who had always been warm and steadfast by her side, flashed through her mind. He could save her!

"George!" Her voice echoed in the hallway, driven by a strong impulse to rush into the room and hold his hand, to have him take her away. But as she took a step forward, the guard beside her quickly grabbed her arm.

"Anna! Stop!"

"Let go of me!" Anna struggled.

Sophia was likely no longer an option; now, she could only rely on George!

However, George in the hospital room heard nothing. The soundproofing was excellent, and the sounds around him seemed distant. Even if Anna's cries pierced through the walls, he couldn't perceive them.

"Calm down!" The guard swung his baton, striking Anna's shin with a sharp crack.

A searing pain shot through her leg, and she realized it was broken.

Another sharp sound followed as handcuffs and shackles were fastened around her wrists and ankles, the cold metal binding her.

"George! I'm here! Save me!" Her voice echoed down the hallway, but George remained deeply asleep in his room.

Joshua, who was sitting beside George, didn't even glance at Anna, as if she didn't exist.

The guards, tired of her resistance, dragged Anna into a hospital room.

"Stop struggling and behave, or you'll regret it," one guard warned. They pinned her to the bed and quickly tied her down with ropes, treating her like a mental patient to ensure she couldn't move.

Anna felt suffocated, filled with humiliation and rage. Her body was bound to the bed, making escape impossible.

"How dare you tie me up!" she roared, her eyes red with fury, like a madwoman.

The guards looked at her coldly, indifferent to her struggles, finding her resistance amusing.

After securing her, they wiped their hands, not wanting to risk contracting syphilis.

Although George didn't hear Anna's screams and struggles, she weren't completely in vain. Emma, who came to visit George, did hear it.

As Anna was bound to the bed, Emma's voice came from outside the room, laced with mockery and indifference. "Anna, are you in there?" Her voice was sharp and cutting, like a knife to Anna's heart.

Emma pushed open the door and walked in. Her gaze swept the room and finally landed on Anna. Seeing Anna's disheveled state, Emma smirked with disdain.

"This is the fate you deserve," Emma said coldly, her heart filled with satisfaction at Anna's suffering.

"Were you hoping George would save you? Too bad he didn't hear you. But even if he did, he wouldn't care. He'll always be my man. You'll never take him from me." Emma's hand rested on her belly as she said, "You probably don't know, but I'm pregnant. You'll never win against me!"

"Bullshit! Impossible! George hates you! He would never have a child with you!"

Anna was driven to madness by the news. Emma, satisfied with her reaction, left the room. Before leaving, she reminded the guards, "Make sure Anna doesn't have any violent outbursts. For the safety of other patients, you keep a close watch on her."

"Don't worry; we'll keep a close eye on Anna," the guard replied respectfully.

Anna continued to struggle, so the guards injected her with a sedative. The drug quickly spread through her body, making her consciousness fade.

"You can't do this to me," Anna's voice weakened. She tried to break free, but her body grew heavier, as if an invisible force was pressing down on her.

"Stop struggling; it's useless," the guard said coldly, with a look of disdain.

As the sedative took effect, Anna's vision blurred, and the world around her faded.

'I won't give up,' she silently vowed.

Finally, under the influence of the drug, Anna fell into a deep sleep, swallowed by darkness.

Emma ignored Anna and entered George's room. She noticed George's pale face, feeling a mix of satisfaction from her revenge and a hint of worry.

He had been getting hurt constantly these days.

Each time, it was for her.

Could it be that he had really fallen in love with her?

As Emma thought about what she had to do next, she felt a pang of reluctance. Once she took this step, the Russell Group's future in the renewable energy sector would be doomed.
