Chapter 30 Sophia

Emma's heart dropped like a rock. Seeing her face go pale, George smirked, "Scared now, huh? Emma, let me tell you, this is just the beginning! You dared to frame me and mess with Anna. I ain't letting you off easy!"

With that, he tossed Emma out like yesterday's trash.

Emma lay there by the bed, looking like a broken doll.

She wasn't giving up; it was just that the pain had her so wiped out, she couldn't even stand.

Maybe the physical pain would clear her head.

After the chaos at the nightclub last night, Emma didn't even have the strength to get up when her phone rang the next day.

"Emma, I gave you a chance to make some cash, and this is how you repay me?! Not only did you fail to sell the wine, but you also broke the bottle! Do you have any idea how much that bottle cost?"

The manager's yelling was like a drill in her head.

"You gotta pay me back!"

"Fine, I'll pay."

Overnight, she racked up a debt of five hundred grand, plus she needed another three hundred thousand for surgery.

Emma's world was falling apart. But life had to go on. She realized quick cash schemes weren't her thing. If she wanted to make money, she had to stick to drawing design sketches.

She couldn't have been more unlucky. Suddenly, an exec from a jewelry group liked her sketches and invited her for a meeting.

This was a golden opportunity, and Emma knew she had to grab it.

Worried her body might betray her, she popped some painkillers before the meeting to make a good impression. When she finally met the exec, she got this weird feeling.

They seemed familiar.

Sophia Brown married into one of the four great noble families in Lakeside Haven, the Stuart family.

The Stuarts had a ton of businesses, and Sophia ran the jewelry division. She was really impressed with Emma's initial designs.

On the submission day, because it was Sophia's daughter's birthday and Sophia couldn't leave, Emma went to Sophia's house.

Seeing the over-the-top birthday party, Emma suddenly remembered it was her 24th birthday too.

Two girls born on the same day but living totally different lives; one in heaven, the other in hell.

One was Molly Stuart, a little princess spoiled by her parents.

The other was Emma, who never knew parental love. She looked at Molly with envy, feeling a dull ache in her chest.

Emma thought to herself, 'Forget it, don't dwell on it.'

Even without parental love, Emma had Douglas's love. For Douglas, she had to raise the three hundred grand for the surgery!

At someone else's birthday party, saying 'Happy Birthday' was the least she could do.

Just as Emma was heading towards Molly, Anna showed up again. She was sitting next to Molly, and the two were taking selfies together.

Molly and Anna were friends.

Emma knew she had no shot with the Stuart family today, so she decided to bail. Just as she was about to leave, Anna spotted her.

"Emma, it really is you! I thought I was seeing things." Anna greeted her warmly, "What are you doing here?"

"You know her?" Molly walked over. Dressed in designer clothes, she stood in front of the poorly dressed Emma, radiating confidence. She looked Emma up and down with curiosity.

"Of course, she's my dear sister." Anna then turned to Emma and said, "Emma, today is my best friend Molly's birthday party. The people here are all big shots, so don't do anything like stealing, okay?"
