Chapter 294 Protecting You

The police quickly split into several groups, setting up barricades at each entrance and exit of the museum to ensure no suspicious individuals could escape. Meanwhile, another team of police swiftly entered the museum, weapons in hand. They scanned their surroundings with vigilance, ready to handle any sudden situations.

"Stay calm and follow instructions!" an police shouted, trying to soothe the crowd, but panic had already spread.

Voices of fear began to rise from the crowd as people rushed towards the exits, desperate to escape the sudden crisis. The crowd's faces were etched with terror, and many started screaming, searching for a safe place.

"Move quickly! There's danger!" a staff member shouted, attempting to calm the crowd, but the chaos rendered his words ineffective.

In the midst of the chaos, a surge of courage welled up in Sophia's heart.

She quickly shielded Emma behind her. "Don't worry, I've got you!"

"Mrs. Stuart." Emma felt a wave of warmth. She had thought getting along with Sophia was the best she could hope for, but now, in the face of danger, Sophia was actually protecting her!

"No matter what happens, I won't let anything harm you!" Sophia's voice conveyed an invisible strength to Emma. Her heart was full of concern and a maternal instinct to protect Isabella, as though Isabella were her own daughter, Emma.

Emma felt Sophia's resolve, and a sense of gratitude surged within her.

She realized she wasn't alone. Besides Michael, there was someone else willing to stand by her in a crisis.

The police moved quickly through the museum, their weapons ready, eyes filled with urgency and focus. They knew that any small mistake could lead to irreversible consequences.

Inside the photography museum, the police swiftly secured the area. After a thorough search, they confirmed there were no terrorists. The tension among the crowd began to ease, though some still looked around nervously.

At that moment, Phoenix stepped forward, a sly smile on her face, trying to catch the police's attention. "Isabella is the terrorist! She and Sophia stole national secrets! They're planning to take down the Russell Group together!"

The crowd erupted in shock, many turning to Phoenix, whose voice carried a hint of triumph.

However, the police were not swayed by Phoenix's words. The commanding police frowned and stepped forward, asking coldly, "Do you have any evidence?"

"I saw Isabella and Sophia together! Isabella has already joined the Russell Group, and she's in contact with Sophia from the Stuart Group. There must be a conspiracy!" Phoenix hurriedly explained, but she began to feel uneasy. She knew her words lacked credibility.

Still, she wasn't ready to back down. She estimated that George should be arriving soon. He would definitely help her!

"You're causing a panic here, which is already a disruption of public order," the police's tone turned stern. "We'll look into your claims."

The police decided to ignore Phoenix's baseless accusations. They quickly packed up their equipment, preparing to leave. The commander instructed his subordinates, "Everyone, fall back and secure the area. We'll deal with this lady's false report seriously."

"You can't leave! I'm telling the truth!" Phoenix shouted in panic, but the police ignored her and began to orderly exit the venue.

Finally, a few police approached Phoenix, saying sternly, "Please come with us to the station. We need to ask you some further questions."

Phoenix's face turned pale instantly. "Do you know who I am? How dare you arrest me!"

The police genuinely had no idea who she was.

"I'm George's cousin! If you arrest me, you'll regret it!" Phoenix yelled arrogantly.

Just then, Joshua and George hurriedly arrived at the scene. George's brow was furrowed; it was obvious he had heard about the chaos. He scanned the area, his eyes landing on Emma and Sophia, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Are you okay?" George asked with concern as he approached.

"We're fine," Emma smiled slightly, though she found Phoenix's actions laughable.

Phoenix's plan had backfired spectacularly.

Seeing George, Phoenix felt a surge of excitement and immediately called out for help, "George, help me! They're taking me away, and I haven't done anything wrong!"

However, George pretended not to hear her, turning instead to check on Emma. He wanted no association with Phoenix.

"George, how can you do this to me?" Phoenix's voice was filled with anger and frustration.

The police noticed George's lack of concern for Phoenix, as if he didn't know her at all, and they felt relieved. The commander instructed his subordinates, "It seems she's not really George's cousin. Take her away."

"Yes, sir," the police responded, then restrained Phoenix and prepared to take her away.

"You can't do this to me! I'll sue you!" Phoenix shouted angrily. She hadn't expected to end up in such a situation, her heart filled with disappointment towards George.

"George, are you just going to watch me get taken away? Aunt Scarlett will be furious!" Phoenix's voice was tinged with madness, but George remained indifferent, continuing his conversation with Emma.

As the police withdrew, the atmosphere in the photography museum gradually returned to normal. People began to slowly disperse, still a bit uneasy but relieved that the immediate crisis was over.

Emma and Sophia exchanged a glance, both feeling a sense of relief. The tense situation had changed Emma's view of Sophia.

"Thank you, Mrs. Stuart," Emma said softly, her eyes showing gratitude.

"It's nothing; it's what I should do," Sophia replied with a smile, silently vowing that no matter what the future held, she would stand by Isabella's side. She would protect Isabella as if she were her own daughter.
