Chapter 232 Difficulties

"Hurry up, stop making a fool of yourself!" another inmate sneered, eyes gleaming with satisfaction. They surrounded Anna, continuing their verbal assault.

"How dare you glare at me? I'll gouge your eyes out. You're just another prisoner here!" One of the inmates bent down and kicked her deliberately. Anna felt a sharp pain and her heart filled with rage.

She wasn't stupid. From their behavior, she knew they were deliberately making things difficult for her.

Alone, she couldn't possibly fight off so many people, so she had to bide her time.

Therefore, Anna didn't scream or shout. Instead, she picked up another tray and got back in line for food, though her gaze towards the inmates grew increasingly vicious.

'Just you wait. When I get out, I won't let any of you off the hook!' She thought to herself.

However, Anna's patience didn't bring her peace. The bullying in the cafeteria continued unabated.

As Anna quietly ate, an inmate suddenly flipped her tray, spilling food everywhere, soup splashing all over. "What the hell!" she shouted angrily, trying to stand up, but the surrounding inmates closed in, giving her no chance to resist.

"Don't rush, we're not done playing yet!" the inmate sneered, grabbing Anna's hair and shoving her face into the soup bowl. The hot soup splashed up, scalding her cheeks. She struggled desperately, but it was no use.

"Look, rich Anna is having her soup!" The surrounding inmates laughed arrogantly.

Anna's face was pressed into the soup bowl, making it hard to breathe.

At that moment, her hatred for Emma reached its peak.

She would make sure Emma paid dearly!

Finally, the inmates lifted her face from the bowl. Anna's face was covered in soup and tears, a pitiful sight. Her tray was overturned, and there was no food left to eat. The surrounding inmates continued to mock her, reveling in her humiliation.

"You're such a loser; you can't even eat properly!" one inmate said coldly, eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

"I heard her family is super rich. That can't be true, right?" another inmate asked loudly on purpose.

"Definitely not. Otherwise, why hasn't she been bailed out yet?"

"Probably abandoned. No one wants her anymore!" another inmate sneered, sealing Anna's fate, "What wealthy family would want a kid who's been in prison!"

Anna's heart sank. This was something she had been considering all along.

She knew the Stuart family's power. If Henry and Sophia were trying their best, they would have gotten her out by now. They wouldn't let her suffer in prison.

So, it must be that they didn't care about her or didn't want to save her!

Anna endured the hunger through the afternoon, finally reaching the evening.

Just when she thought she could get some sleep, a few inmates barged into her cell.

"Anna, you have a new task tonight!" a burly inmate said coldly, holding a pile of dirty socks and smelly shoes, reeking of a foul odor.

"If you don't finish washing these, don't even think about sleeping!"

Unwashed smelly shoes and socks, endless chores, not enough food, constant beatings.

Anna was on the verge of breaking down!

The bruises and scars on her face twisted her once beautiful features.

Anna couldn't take it any longer! Enduring only made things worse!

"Go ahead and kill me! When I get out, none of you will live!" she shouted angrily, trying to break free from her restraints, but her resistance only brought more violent attacks.

At that moment, a guard happened to pass by. Anna used all her strength to call for help, "Guard! Help me!"

The guard heard her cry, a cold smile appearing on his face, as if he was watching a show. Instead of stepping forward to help, he just gave her a cold stare, his face showing only annoyance and no sympathy.

Anna had no protection here, just as Emma had planned.

"Just don't kill her," the guard said indifferently, turning away.

A burly inmate punched her hard in the face. Anna felt a sharp pain, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Her body was battered and bruised, her face swollen.

"You're such an idiot. You think we beat you without the guard knowing?" another inmate sneered, grabbing her wrist and dragging her to the corner, kicking her in the stomach.

Each kick felt like a heavy hammer, making it hard for Anna to breathe.

"You're in prison and still dare to talk tough. Believe me, you won't see the sunrise tomorrow!" an inmate grabbed her hair, forcing her to look at him, "Say it; do you give in?"

Anna's eyes flashed with defiance. Despite her battered body, her heart still burned with anger. She gritted her teeth and said, "No!"

But this defiance only brought more violent attacks.

The inmates surrounded her, continuing to punch and kick her, enjoying the cruel "performance." Anna's body curled up on the ground, her painful groans drowned out by their laughter.

In this torment, her clothes were torn, her hair pulled, her face covered in bruises.

Late at night, Anna lay in her small cell, filled with hatred for those inmates.

She imagined herself taking them down one by one, making them feel her pain. Faces of those who mocked and bullied her flashed in her mind, the flames of anger burning fiercely in her heart.

'I'll make sure you all die!' she roared in her mind. Her heart was filled with a longing for freedom, a desire for revenge, wanting to kill everyone.

Including Sophia and Henry, who hadn't gotten her out of prison.

The next day, they came to visit Anna.

The visiting room's walls were cold concrete, and the sunlight through the bars was weak. Anna sat at a simple table, her face haggard, eyes showing fatigue and helplessness.

"Anna!" Sophia's voice trembled, tears almost spilling out. She rushed to Anna, wanting to hold her hand tightly. Henry stood by, his heart full of pain and guilt.

"Mom, Dad." Anna looked up, forcing a smile, though it was strained, "Don't worry about me. I'm doing fine in here."
