Chapter 365 Demonstration

Michael gave a slight smile and said softly, "Her memory's messed up because of the car accident. It's none of my business. As for why she forgot you, it's simple. The pain and stress you put her through were so intense that her brain just blocked it out."

George's face darkened, anger bubbling up. "Michael, what are you really after here?"

Michael leaned back on the couch, his tone calm and indifferent. "I just want her to have a peaceful and happy life again. She's already starting to heal, forgetting the past pain. Why do you have to mess with that? George, you need to get it through your head; she's not yours anymore."

Every word was a jab, and George clenched his fists, his voice low and filled with barely contained rage. "Michael, you think I'll buy that? I'll find out the truth. I'll make sure she sees who you really are and what you've done!"

Michael stayed cool, speaking evenly. "She's happy. If you really care about her, let her go. Otherwise, you'll just scare her more and push her further away."

George was unyielding, his voice icy. "Is that so? We'll see about that."

After leaving the club, George pulled himself together. He was convinced that Emma's amnesia was artificially caused by someone. He believed her past memories could be restored through medical means, and Michael's so-called happy life was just a cage woven with lies and deliberate arrangements. George couldn't accept Emma being deceived any longer.

However, he couldn't find a chance to see Emma alone. Every time he tried to approach her, she was either well-protected by Mia and Michael or instinctively repelled by his presence. He realized that his constant attempts to get close to Emma only made her more resistant. He needed to find a moment where she couldn't avoid facing him.

Three days later, the Stuart family would host a banquet to officially announce the return of their long-lost daughter—Emma.

George stared at the photo of Emma in the news. Her beauty and smile were flawless, but to him, they seemed tinged with a hint of unfamiliarity and distance. He muttered, "Emma, you can hide from me, but you can't escape. I'll make sure you see the truth."

The news of the banquet quickly became a hot topic in society.

The Stuart family, a top-tier family, had been searching for their daughter for years, only to be deceived by someone named Anna, who turned out to be the wrong person. This garnered much sympathy from the public. Now, with the truth finally revealed, the entire high society received invitations to the event.

Emma had never experienced such a grand event before. She felt both excited and nervous about the upcoming banquet. Sophia kept reassuring her, "It's okay, just be yourself. Your dad and I will be with you the whole time."

Michael, on the other hand, was busy with all the arrangements. His entire attention was devoted to Emma, prioritizing her above all else.

Meanwhile, George was planning his move. He decided to use this public event to find a chance to approach Emma and help her remember some of her past. This time, he couldn't be reckless. He needed to find an entry point and gradually make Emma face him again.

The banquet was held at the Stuart family's private estate.

The estate was heavily guarded, and vehicles had to go through multiple checks to enter. The Stuart family invited only close associates to ensure no information about the banquet leaked and to avoid any unwanted guests. The attendees were all wealthy and influential, rejoiced in the Stuart family's reunion with their daughter and shocked to learn that Isabella was actually Emma.

As the banquet began, Emma appeared with Sophia and Henry. She wore a pure white off-shoulder gown adorned with delicate diamond accents at the waist, exuding elegance and grace. She wore a family heirloom necklace, looking like a princess straight out of a fairy tale, dazzling and radiant.

The guests were captivated by her, unable to take their eyes off her as she moved gracefully.

"Sophia, is this really your daughter? You two look so much alike!" an acquaintance exclaimed. "Congratulations, your family is finally reunited!"

Sophia's eyes filled with tears as she nodded, her voice choked with emotion. "Yes, we've finally waited for this day."

Henry, though more reserved, also had tears in his eyes.

As people continued to offer their blessings to Emma, she felt herself fully embracing her new identity, with the past's uncertainties and regrets gradually fading away.

Her only memory of a relative was her grandfather, Douglas, but now she had loving parents too.

However, she didn't notice a pair of deep, intense eyes watching her from a corner of the room.

George had made up his mind to get into the banquet at any cost. He contacted a family that owed him a favor and managed to get an invitation. But at the estate entrance, the security recognized him.

"Mr. George Russell, I'm sorry," the guard said politely but firmly. "The Stuart family specifically instructed that no one from the Russell family, especially you, is allowed in except for Michael."

George's expression turned cold. "I'm Emma's husband. I just want to see her. How can you stop me?"

The guard remained detached, following orders. "I'm sorry, Mr. George Russell, but this is the Stuart family's decision."

Gritting his teeth, George looked at the brightly lit estate filled with guests. His determination grew stronger. He didn't argue further but retreated to find another way in. Avoiding the perimeter guards, he successfully climbed over a wall and entered the estate through a hidden path. He changed into a plain suit, blending in with the guests, and avoided the attention of Michael and the Stuart family, finally making his way into the banquet hall.

Inside, George watched Emma from a distance. She was surrounded by the Stuart family, her smile gentle and happy.

But the sight tore at George's heart—Emma, who once belonged to him, now seemed completely estranged, even believing he was her tormentor.

George didn't have much time.

He couldn't disrupt the banquet but had to find a moment to take Emma away discreetly.

Soon, he got his chance. As the banquet reached its peak, Emma stepped out of the hall for a break, heading to a quiet corridor. The area was elegantly decorated but sparsely populated. Feeling a bit tired, she took a sip of water, only to hear a soft voice behind her, "Emma."

Instinctively, Emma turned and saw George. She took a step back, "What are you doing here? You're not welcome here!"

George spoke in a low voice, "I just want to talk to you. Please, calm down."

"What do you want?" Emma turned to go back to the hall, but George stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. His eyes were filled with pain and determination. "Emma, I won't let you run away again. I need to tell you the truth. If you want to hate me afterward, that's fine."

Emma struggled to break free, trying to shake off his hand. "I told you, I don't know you! Let go of me!"

George didn't let go. He quickly covered her mouth with a cloth and, following a carefully planned route, swiftly took her away, finally getting her into a car despite her terrified struggles.

In a secluded cottage, Emma woke up, remembering she had been forcibly taken from the banquet. Her body trembled with fear as she hugged herself. "George, what are you doing? Kidnapping is a crime, you know that!"

"Emma, you recognized me, right? You called my name. You still have me in your heart! I don't mean any harm. I just want you to remember our past, the times you loved me."

"Enough!" Emma shouted defensively, trying to suppress her fear. "Stop lying to me! You're a heartless, cruel jerk! I checked all the news and asked people around me. All you ever did was hurt me. I don't want to remember you!"
