Chapter 199 Experiment

"You can't just leave like this!" Anna desperately chased after him, but George indifferently walked out of the room.

"George!" she called out in the noisy banquet hall, drawing the attention of those around her.

At this moment, Olivia, shocked by the opulence of the banquet hall, approached with a small piece of cake. Why had George run out?

And Anna was chasing after George, what was going on?

"Anna, did it fail?" Olivia's question was subtle, but Anna understood. She nodded slightly, then led Olivia to a discreet spot to avoid drawing too much attention.

"What should I do?" Anna gritted her teeth in frustration.

"Don't worry, Anna, let me think of a way." Olivia's eyes revealed a hint of sinister intent.

"No need! I do myself," Anna saw Oscar, a butler temporarily assigned from the Russell family, who had previously done some dirty work for her. He was no one more suitable for today's task.

Anna placed a glass of wine into his hand and coldly commanded, "Take this glass of wine to Isabella!"

Oscar immediately understood what she intended and quickly agreed, "Get it, Ms. Stuart."

Oscar placed the wine on a tray and walked towards Isabella. "Ms. Taylor, this is a special drink prepared for you at this party. I hope you enjoy it." He emphasized the word "special."

"Thank you!" she accepted the wine glass without hesitation but did not drink the wine. Instead, she held the glass, gently swirling the red wine and savoring its enticing aroma.

A guest who had been conversing with her earlier curiously asked, "Ms. Taylor, do you know wine?"

"This is a high-quality red wine," Emma began explaining to the surrounding guests with a professional tone. "The deep and bright color indicates that the wine has been aged for a long time, usually resulting in a richer flavor."

"Moreover, the aroma of red wine is also important." Emma closed her eyes slightly and took a deep breath. "This wine exudes black cherry, vanilla, and a hint of oak, with a smooth taste and moderate tannins, making it perfect for pairing with beef and cheese."

"Very professional!" a guest praised, and others nodded in approval.

Anna and Olivia were getting anxious. Why was Isabella talking so much? Just drink the wine already!

"There's more to it," Emma said, holding the glass high and walking towards Anna.

She raised the glass and threw it at Anna, the red wine splashing all over her, staining her clothes.

"Isabella, what are you doing?" Anna screamed in anger.

"That's a question I should be asking you. Why did you have someone poison my wine? What are you up to? You're Mr. Russell's fiancée, yet you resort to such despicable means. Do you really deserve Mr. Russell? I think Mr. Russell is truly blinded by you, falling for you so vile!"

"No." A cold voice suddenly rang out—it was George.

A cold smile flashed across Emma's face.

No what? George really loves her, doesn't he?

In those days, Anna's reputation was already quite poor, yet George remained by her side. Emma believed that Anna would get her comeuppance.

"Your love is truly touching," Emma said mockingly.

Anna, however, looked at George with shining eyes, moved by his unwavering support. She knew George would never give up on her; in his heart, she was always the one he loved the most.

However, George's next words were stunned Anna.

"None of my business."

Anna's face immediately filled with embarrassment and anger, the gazes around her piercing like knives. Her plan had utterly failed.

But for something without evidence, she would never admit it.

"Isabella, how dare you slander me! I did not drug your wine."

"Oh really?" Emma replied coldly. "But I have a witness. Oscar, come here and tell everyone what Ms. Anna Stuart had you do."

The person who served wine to Emma was Oscar, who then vividly recounted what Anna had instructed him to do.

At that moment, the way everyone looked at Anna began to change.

"How despicable," one guest murmured.

Although everyone had seen online accusations of Anna's misdeeds, those events had occurred many years ago, and they had not witnessed them firsthand. But today, they clearly saw how Anna tried to drug Isabella.

It seemed the insults from netizens were still too mild for her. Otherwise, why would she be unafraid of consequences?

Moreover, Anna had been involved in a criminal case related to school bullying that led to a death. Why was Anna still unscathed? Some people also recalled the incident a few years ago when Emma was rumored to have sex with George.

Those who were more perceptive began to speculate. Could it be that the real culprit behind that incident was Anna, and not Emma, who had been wrongfully blamed for years?

"What right do you have to accuse me? You're all in cahoots with each other! You're giving false testimony for Isabella! She must have bribed you, right? You must provide material evidence."

"If you want proof, of course, I have it," Emma pouted, making a playful expression.

She then spoke a few words to Oscar, instructing him to bring some items.

Not long after, Oscar returned with a small test tube and some chemical reagents.

Emma proceeded to conduct a chemical experiment right there, using the leftover wine to prove it contained poison.

Emma asked, "Is this evidence sufficient?"

"You just performed a few experiments. Why should that mean I poisoned you?" Anna still refused to admit it.

Emma sighed. "It seems I have no other choice."

"Oscar, subdue her!" Emma said coldly, her gaze fixed on Anna.

Oscar nodded, swiftly stepped forward, and grabbed Anna's wrist, forcing her to stand still.

"What are you trying to do?" Anna asked, her face pale but still unyielding. She couldn't believe Isabella would dare to do anything to her in front of everyone.
