Chapter 182 I Have A Plan

"Split up and find that bitch Isabella. She must die!" Anna's voice echoed in the basement as she directed the three men, eager to drag Isabella out and humiliate her right there.

Anna's words fell directly into Emma and Elizabeth's ears.

"You are so unlucky to run into such a lunatic," Elizabeth said sympathetically to Emma, holding an iron rod she had just found in the hallway, ready to fight at any moment.

Emma had no way to answer Elizabeth's question. If there was a chance in the future, she would be willing to tell Elizabeth the whole story.

But now the priority was survival for them.

Seeing Emma remain silent, Elizabeth thought she was scared stiff. She poked Emma and comforted her, "Don't worry; as long as I'm here, they won't find you."

Elizabeth's eyes sparkled with cunning, as if she had already thought of a plan.

At that moment, Anna's voice rang out again, "Isabella! Where are you? Get out here!"

"They have four people. Just hiding isn't a solution; they'll find us sooner or later," Emma whispered.

"Don't worry; I have a plan," Elizabeth nodded, quickly analyzing their surroundings.

There was an open toolbox in the room. Elizabeth had already checked it earlier; it contained some nails, ropes, and a long pole. Elizabeth quickly organized these items, ready to implement their plan.

"What are you going to do?" Emma asked.

"Of course, we're going to create some trouble for them," Elizabeth said, stretching her body.

Honestly, setting traps for the enemy was completely beyond Emma's knowledge.

Over the years, she had only learned some self-defense techniques from Michael, which allowed her to unexpectedly fight back against bad guys and then escape.

If she still had her bag, Emma could use pepper spray or some smoke grenades to deal with these people.

But now she had nothing, not even a clear idea in her head. She was completely unsure of what to do.

Elizabeth was clearly experienced in this. She used the rope to secure the long pole to the wall, creating a simple tripwire, and then scattered nails on the ground. When those people approached, they could attack from the side.

Elizabeth's plan was highly feasible because they were in a basement with no light at all. Even if Anna had a flashlight, the light couldn't cover the entire hallway, leaving them with blind spots.

The long pole Elizabeth set up was cleverly positioned in one of these blind spots. Even if Anna shone her light over, it would be hard to see the pole and nails on the ground.

Perhaps the three men were too satisfied from having sex with Anna earlier. As they walked, they were still touching Anna, ignoring any noise from Emma's side.

Otherwise, in such an empty and quiet hallway, any movement would have been noticed immediately.

After setting everything up, Elizabeth looked at Emma. "Are you ready?"

Emma nodded heavily, "Ready."

"Then let's begin." Elizabeth threw the handful of nails heavily onto the ground.

The sound of metal clashing with decayed wood was particularly jarring. Anna and the three men immediately fell silent.

"There's movement. Let's go!" Attracted by the noise, they ran towards the sound. Emma and Elizabeth held their breath, nervously observing their movements.

Even without seeing Elizabeth's expression, Emma could imagine her eyes ablaze with the fire of battle.

When the three men reached the corner, Emma and Elizabeth each pulled up the long pole with the rope, tripping them.

Levi lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground, landing on the nails with a dull thud. The impact was so sudden that Elliot, unable to react in time, stumbled and fell on top of him, driving the nails deeply into Levi's skin.

Emma thought, 'The nails are rusty, and I wish they would contract tetanus.'

Jonah, who had also run over, reacted quickly and stopped in time, spotting Emma and Elizabeth.

He wanted to rush up and avenge his companions, but they didn't give him the chance.

Elizabeth swung the iron rod, hitting Jonah on the back of the head.

Anna, who had been running the slowest, arrived just as the three men fell. She had heard the sounds of pain and fighting earlier.

She had thought that the three men had beaten Isabella, who couldn't fight back. But when she arrived, she was profoundly shocked by the situation.

Why were the three men on the ground?

And why was Isabella standing there unharmed, with an assistant beside her?

"Isabella, you bitch!" Anna, seeing Emma unharmed, was furious. She wanted to inflict the same humiliation she had just suffered on Isabella.

But with the three men, what could Anna do alone?

Emma was about to speak when Elizabeth covered her mouth.

"Don't talk; let me handle this."

Elizabeth hit Anna on the head with the rod again, and she fell instantly.

"Alright, done!" Elizabeth didn't dare waste any more time here. She knew her strength was limited, and the three menwere not seriously injured.

They would recover quickly and continue fighting.

If they stayed here and delayed, it would only give the three men time to recover. So Elizabeth quickly ended the fight and pulled Emma towards the other side of the hallway.

Anna's head throbbed, but she still directed the three men.

"Stop them; don't let them escape!" Emma and Elizabeth ran through the basement, evading their pursuers. They had already tested the wind direction earlier, and now, moving against the wind, they searched for cover while avoiding capture.
"Hurry; this way!" Elizabeth shouted, pulling Emma's hand as they ran deeper into the basement.

Emma followed closely behind Elizabeth, trying to catch her breath, their footsteps leaving hurried tracks on the ground.

"The exit is just ahead!" Elizabeth pointed to the light in front of them, hope gleaming in her eyes.

They ran faster and faster, almost using all their strength to rush forward.

Just then, urgent footsteps sounded behind them, and the angry shouts of the three men echoed, "Don't let them escape!"

Finally, the light ahead grew closer, and a glimmer of hope ignited in Emma's heart.

However, just as they were about to reach the exit, they came to a halt.

Their guess was correct; it was indeed a ventilation shaft connected to the outside, and it was large enough. But the exit was blocked by an iron grate.

They could only extend an arm or a leg through it; their bodies couldn't fit.

Hope was instantly extinguished; they couldn't get out.

Emma's hand fell limply, and Elizabeth was filled with dejection.

Was there anything more tragic in the world?Fate had shown them hope, only to cruelly snatch it away.

"We have to find a way to open this grate," Emma tried to calm herself.

She couldn't give up at this critical moment.

Elizabeth looked around and noticed that the bottom of the grate was somewhat loose, seemingly possible to pry open.

There were discarded iron rods everywhere. Elizabeth picked one up, inserted it into the gap of the grate, and tried to pry it open with all her might.

Sweat beaded on Elizabeth's forehead as she gritted her teeth, with Emma assisting her.

But the rod bent, and the grate remained unyielding.

"No, it's too strong!" Elizabeth gave up on this method.

Emma tried to pull herself together. She looked around, trying to find another exit.

Just then, urgent footsteps sounded behind them, and Anna's voice echoed in the air, "They're here!"

"Quick, hide!" Elizabeth whispered.

But it was just a passageway, with pursuers on one side and a dead end on the other; they had nowhere to escape.

The iron fence was exceedingly sturdy; they could not pry it open. Unfortunately, it was already too late to take another path.

At that moment, the three men and Anna had already caught up, holding sharp knives, advancing towards Emma and Elizabeth.

Without hesitation, Emma stood in front of Elizabeth, her eyes flashing with determination.

"I'll go with you and let you do whatever you want; just don't involve innocent people. Let her go!"

Emma used her frail body to shield Elizabeth, knowing these people were after her and there was no need to drag Elizabeth into this dirty hatred.

"Don't worry; such a beautiful lady; how could I bear to hurt her?" Levi said with a wicked smile, eyeing Elizabeth. He felt incredibly lucky today, encountering three beauties. He wanted to have sex with all of them to see who was the most beautiful.

Levi's knife gleamed coldly as he pointed it at Emma. "Come here, take off your pants and lie down, and I won't kill you."
