Chapter 255 The Death of Molly

Lately, Elizabeth had been incredibly busy, so much so that even Emma hadn't seen her in a long time.

Even though Elizabeth lived in Emma's mansion, she was always out early and back late, and the two rarely crossed paths. On the few occasions they did, Emma noticed Elizabeth always had that notebook they had taken from the underground chamber.

Emma was curious about that notebook, but since Elizabeth didn't bring it up, she didn't ask.

But tonight, Elizabeth came home early for a change and brought the notebook to Emma's study.

"Isabella, now that Anna's in prison, she's getting what she deserves. It's time for me to leave," Elizabeth said, getting straight to the point.

"Just prison? That's enough?" Emma was skeptical that Elizabeth would be satisfied with that.

"Of course not. I've gathered more evidence against Anna over the past few weeks. Plus, I have a video that you might find interesting." Elizabeth handed Emma a USB drive.

Emma looked at the USB drive curiously as Elizabeth began to recount Anna's crimes.

Back in school, Anna had not only bullied a classmate to death but was also involved in human trafficking. Elizabeth had followed the leads and found the locations where those classmates had been trafficked.

Because the human trafficking network was so well-organized, Elizabeth had to investigate discreetly. Now, all she needed to do was report it to the police, who could then coordinate with the victims' families for a rescue operation.

With the victims' testimonies, Anna would never see the light of day again.

And the criminal organization behind her might be dismantled for good.

"Let's go to the police right now!" Emma was eager to save those girls from their suffering as soon as possible.

The sooner that organization was dismantled, the better it would have been for the victims.

Elizabeth shook her head. "Not yet. I've already arranged for the victims' families to scout the area. Those remote villages where the women are held are very poor and isolated. The entire village acts as one, and they won't let outsiders take away their 'breeding tools.' We need to fully understand the situation to ensure success."

"Now, there's something else I need to show you," Elizabeth said, indicating for Emma to open the USB drive.

When Emma played the video stored on the drive, she was stunned.

The video showed Anna killing Molly and framing Emma for it. The footage was from an aerial perspective, as if shot from above.

Emma asked, "Where did you get this?"

"By chance." Elizabeth had bought a drone to aid in her investigations. The drone came with a memory card, and when Elizabeth inserted it, she found this video already on it. Recognizing Anna and Emma in the footage, she immediately brought it to Emma.

With this video, Anna's conviction would be certain.

George already despised Anna. Her staunchest supporters, however, were Sophia and Henry, Molly's adoptive parents, who had a profound affection for Molly.

If they found out it was Anna, not Emma, who killed Molly, would they still protect Anna?

Emma was eager to find out. She immediately sent the video to Sophia and made sure to inform Lyanna, who was imprisoned with Anna, about the truth.

Before leaving, Elizabeth handed Emma her ever-present notebook and said, "Watch out for Michael."

The notebook's writing was strange, something Emma had never seen before, but she could make out a world map with several locations marked.

Lakeside Haven and Sunterra were highlighted.

What did it mean?

Meanwhile, Anna, still in prison, had no idea that Sophia and Henry now knew the truth about Molly's death. She was still hoping they would rescue her soon.

"Anna, our days are far from over," Lyanna whispered in her ear.

Fear gripped Anna's heart. She knew Lyanna's hatred wouldn't end here, and her days in prison were destined to be even more difficult.

What were Sophia and Henry doing?

Not only had they failed to get her out, but they had also allowed Lyanna to torment her.

Anna muttered to herself, "Why? Sophia, I hate you!"

The morning sunlight streamed through the prison window, bringing a hint of warmth, but in this dark place, it felt glaringly out of place. Lyanna sat on the bed with a sly smile, her cold eyes fixed on Anna.

Anna curled up in the corner of the cell, Lyanna's fists and feet repeatedly making contact with her ribs, leaving her bruised and battered.

The pain in her ribs was excruciating, as if every breath was tearing at her nerves.

"Damn it, what's the point of you being alive?" Lyanna's voice had a hint of madness as she delivered a final, heavy kick to Anna's ribs. The pain was so intense that Anna nearly lost consciousness, collapsing to the ground, unable to move.

Anna let out a painful moan, her face turning pale. She clutched her ribs tightly, her eyes fixed on Lyanna.

"What? Not satisfied?" Lyanna looked down at Anna arrogantly.

"It hurts so much. I need to see a doctor," Anna said with difficulty, her voice barely a whisper. The pain was unbearable, and she had never felt anything like it.

"A doctor? What makes you think you deserve to see a doctor?" The guard at the door looked at her coldly, without a trace of sympathy.

Anna's suffering meant nothing to him.

"It really hurts," Anna's voice and body trembled, her mind blank.

She seemed to see George holding her and comforting her softly. Everything had been fine, but since Emma came back, everything had changed!

Driven by sheer willpower, Anna crawled to the guard's feet, clutching his pant leg, begging. "Please, let me see a doctor."

"You're here to be punished, not to enjoy life!" The guard, suspecting Anna of feigning her pain, chose to disregard her entirely.

"These are all you deserve!" The guard turned and left, leaving Anna to face her endless suffering and the torment brought by Lyanna.
