Chapter 208 Kill Them

At the edge of the deep pit, Olivia and Jerry stood in silence. The pit grew quieter with each passing moment, the only sound being the occasional echo of the wind.

"He... he’s not really dead, is he?" Olivia's voice trembled, her face pale with fear.

"Dead is exactly what we need him to be. That's the whole point," Jerry replied coldly.

"So, what do we do next?" Olivia asked, panic creeping into her voice. She was completely at a loss.

Today's events had spiraled far beyond her expectations. She had only intended to teach Isabella a lesson, so how had it escalated to killing George?

She was risking her life here!

'God, please let George be dead,' she prayed inwardly. If he wasn't, it would be their lives on the line.

"Why don't we start filling the pit with dirt now? Bury him and Isabella forever, make them disappear," Olivia suggested, her voice laced with desperation. It seemed like the perfect solution to her.

"No," Jerry rejected the idea immediately. "If their bodies are found here, this will be the primary crime scene. There will be too much evidence left behind. We need to move his body to a remote location. That way, even if it starts to decompose, no one will trace it back to here." Jerry had a knack for evading the law.

"Alright, let's get their bodies out of the pit first."

Olivia tied a rope around herself and slowly descended into the pit. Once at the bottom, she secured the rope around George's body, making sure it was tight enough to prevent him from slipping out halfway up.

She tugged on the rope, signaling Jerry to start pulling.

Jerry began to haul George's body up. As the rope tightened, George's body slowly rose. Olivia watched his face, a wave of guilt washing over her.

"Hold him steady, don't let him fall," Jerry commanded from above. Olivia gritted her teeth and followed his instructions, her emotions in turmoil.

What was she doing?

A new fear crept into her heart. This was George they were dealing with. If Jerry could kill him, what would stop him from killing her if she ever got in his way?

When Olivia had tied the rope around George, she realized he was just unconscious.

She watched his body sway in mid-air, panic rising within her. What if he woke up suddenly?

"What if he wakes up?" she asked, her voice shaking.

"Don't worry; he's out cold," Jerry replied coolly. "As long as we get him up quickly, we'll be fine."

With continued effort, George's body finally reached the edge of the pit. Jerry, despite his age, used the last of his strength to drag George's body over the edge.

George's face was covered in blood, and he looked lifeless. A large bump on his head suggested he wouldn't be waking up anytime soon.

Next, they used the same method to pull Emma up.

Just as they were about to load Emma and George into the van to take them to a secluded spot for burial, Emma suddenly stood up, dusting herself off. "Thanks for pulling me up. I can leave now," she said calmly.

"You... you're awake? You weren't unconscious?" Olivia stammered.

"No, I was never unconscious. George was the one who got hurt, not me," Emma explained evenly.

"So you heard everything we said?" Jerry asked, his voice tense.

"Yes, every single word," Emma replied, unruffled.

"In that case, don't blame us for being ruthless," Jerry said with a cold smile, advancing on Emma with a knife.

The blade flashed in front of Emma, but she was quick, stepping back just in time to avoid it.

Emma had trained for this moment countless times at Sunterra. She was back for revenge and had prepared herself thoroughly. Her body was in peak condition, and Jerry's attack was no match for her.

But could Jerry withstand her counterattack? That was another question.

Emma pulled a stun gun from her belt, ready to defend herself.

Her face, which Jerry had known for years, was deceptively innocent. He still saw her as Emma, the one who wouldn't fight back.

He advanced on her, knife glinting coldly.

As Jerry closed in, Emma activated the stun gun. The air crackled with electricity, and a sharp buzzing sound filled the air.

Jerry recoiled in shock, fear flashing across his face.

"Stay back!" Emma's voice was firm, the stun gun crackling with blue sparks, creating a barrier between them.

Olivia watched in shock, her emotions a whirlwind. She looked at Emma with a newfound respect. "She's not like Emma at all. She's actually fighting back!"

"You think this scares me?" Jerry snarled, trying to advance again, but the stun gun kept him at bay.

"Look closely, I'm not your foster daughter!" Emma's voice was resolute.

"You really think you can beat me?" Jerry taunted, stepping forward, looking for an opening.

"I won't let you win!" Emma declared, holding her ground with the stun gun.

Olivia, panicking, tried to intervene. "Maybe we can talk this out?"

"Don't waste your time talking to her. She won't let us go!" Jerry's voice was filled with rage, his eyes murderous.

"Who says I won't let you go? I actually agree with Olivia. We can talk," Emma said calmly.

"What's there to talk about? How can I trust you won't turn us in?" Jerry demanded.

"Of course you can trust me," Emma's assurance stunned Olivia and Jerry. They couldn't believe their ears. Was Isabella really betraying George?
