Chapter 270 The Lie Exposed

Sophia's emotions were too overwhelming, and she fainted again.

George was just as shocked, considering another possibility.

If Anna could pretend to be Emma and become Sophia's daughter, could she also be faking being the girl from his memories?

After all, Anna's personality was nothing like the girl he remembered. There wasn't a hint of similarity between them.

On the other hand, Emma's kindness, innocence, and love were much more like the girl he remembered.

George's gaze was sharp as a knife as he stared at Anna. His voice was low and threatening, "Who are you really? Tell the truth!"

George's question was sudden, but Anna understood it perfectly.

George was starting to doubt her identity too.

But she couldn't admit it. George's childhood promise was her last hope. As long as she remained the girl from his memories, George would never harm her. But if she lost that identity...

Anna couldn't imagine what the Jones family would face.

No one could withstand George's wrath!

"Speak! Are you the girl I knew when I was a kid or not?" George exclaimed.

Fear filled Anna's heart, but she gritted her teeth and shook her head firmly. "Trust me! I'm not lying to you!" Her voice carried a hint of desperation and defiance, trying to make herself seem more believable.

"Are you not an imposter?" George's voice grew colder, and his eyes blazed with anger. He couldn't trust the Anna in front of him, his heart filled with doubt and unease.

"If you want me to believe you, you'll have to pay the price." George said coldly, then turned to Jerry, his gaze fierce. He grabbed Jerry's arm and, without hesitation, twisted it forcefully. A sharp crack echoed through the room as Jerry screamed in pain.

"Let go of me! You maniac!" Jerry's face turned pale, his eyes filled with fear and despair. The pain from his broken arm was unbearable.

"Stop!" Anna screamed in terror. Seeing Jerry in agony was like a knife to her heart, but she persisted, "No matter what you do, I'm not lying to you!"

"If you don't tell the truth, I'll make him suffer even more!" George said resolutely, his eyes burning with fury.

Jerry's pain intensified, filling him with helplessness and despair. He couldn't help but cry, finally gritting his teeth and saying, "Anna is a fake. The girl you knew when you were a kid is Emma!"

Anna's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't believe Jerry would betray her in such a situation, but she knew there was no turning back.

Jerry added, "She stole Emma's diary and deceived you!"

George's gaze pierced Anna like a knife, as if he wanted to tear her apart.

"I didn't." Anna's voice trembled, her heart filled with fear, but she knew the lie had been exposed.

With the truth revealed, George felt as if he had been struck by lightning, losing all his strength in an instant. He recalled all the torment and misunderstandings he had inflicted on Emma, his heart filled with regret and pain.

"How could this happen?" George murmured, despair in his eyes. Unable to bear the blow, he lost his balance and collapsed to the floor.

The hospital room descended into chaos. Jerry and Olivia tried to escape in the confusion, but Emma, who had been watching them, caught them.

"What's this about Anna stealing a diary?" Emma asked, confused.

Jerry was in too much pain to speak, so Emma turned her gaze to Olivia. Realizing they had no way out, Olivia decided to spill everything.

Emma finally understood that Anna had been impersonating her all along, deceiving both Sophia and George.

George had remembered their promise, but Anna had fooled him into thinking she was the girl from his past.

Bitter tears streamed down Emma's face.

Her death had been a misunderstanding from the start.

Her desire for revenge wavered.

Was her revenge really worth it?

In the hospital room, sunlight streamed through the curtains, warm and gentle. Sophia lay in bed, her eyelids fluttering as she finally opened her eyes.

Her vision was blurry, everything a white haze.

Was she dead?

Was this heaven?

After everything she had done to her daughter Emma, she couldn't possibly deserve heaven. This must be hell!

Sophia turned her head and saw a cute little girl standing by the window, bathed in sunlight that seemed to give her a golden glow. The girl had a sweet smile and eyes full of innocence.

"Emma?" Sophia's heart skipped a beat, and she called out in surprise. Memories of young Emma, with her familiar face and eyes, filled her with a sense of closeness.

The little girl heard her and ran over, her clear voice echoing in the room, "Mommy!" Her voice was as sweet and enchanting as a bird's song at dawn.

Sophia's heart was instantly warmed, her eyes glistening with tears, filled with emotion. "You really came back?" She thought the girl was calling her, her heart filled with a mother's joy and anticipation.

So death had its benefits; she finally got to see her Emma!

However, Sophia didn't notice the woman standing on the other side of her bed. It was Emma, quietly watching the little girl, a gentle smile on her face.

"Mommy, I missed you!" The little girl threw herself into Emma's arms, hugging her tightly, her eyes filled with attachment.

Sophia was stunned, realizing the little girl wasn't calling her but Emma.

Seeing Emma, she was even more delighted. She saw her grown-up daughter!

But why were there two Emmas?

"What's going on?" Sophia's voice was weak, her eyes filled with confusion.

Emma noticed Sophia's expression and smiled gently, walking to her bedside. "This is my daughter, Seraphine."

"Seraphine." Sophia's heart skipped a beat. Was this the child Emma?

Ignoring her weakness, Sophia struggled to sit up. "Emma, I finally get to see you."

"Mommy, is this your mommy?" Seraphine asked curiously, looking at Sophia.
