Chapter 546 Seduction
"Oops! Sorry!" Phoenix exclaimed dramatically, crouching down and letting her fingers casually brush against George's knee. She slowed her movements, letting her fingertips linger on his thigh. "I'll clean it up for you right away."
George sensed her intentions but didn't move away. A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips as he allowed her to cross the line. This reaction emboldened Phoenix, and she nearly pressed her entire body against him.
"Enough!" Wanda slammed the table and stood up abruptly, her voice sharp and distorted. "Ms. Lewis, get out! Now!"
Phoenix slowly stood up, casting a provocative glance at Wanda. "I was just trying to help. Why is Dr. Salazar so worked up?" She deliberately elongated her words. "Could it be jealousy?"
Wanda trembled with anger, her meticulously manicured nails digging into her palms. "Leave my office immediately!"
"Alright, alright, I'm leaving." Phoenix chuckled as she turned to leave, whispering in George's ear before she went, "Mr. Russell, see you next time~"
As the office door closed, Wanda rushed to George's side. "Mr. Russell, are you alright? Do you need to change your clothes?"
George gracefully accepted the tissue she handed him and began to wipe himself slowly. "No need." He paused, then suddenly asked, "Dr. Salazar seems quite concerned about Ms. Lewis?"
Wanda's face stiffened, but she forced a smile. "Of course not, she's just very unprofessional."
"Is that so?" George smiled meaningfully. "I find her rather interesting."
The comment cut Wanda like a knife. She struggled to maintain her professional smile, but couldn't hide the tremor in her voice. "Mr. Russell, let's continue with your treatment."
Phoenix's actions had made the clinic's atmosphere tense. She continued to provoke Wanda, while George responded just enough to fuel the fire between them.
On Monday morning, Wanda discovered that someone had tampered with her appointment system, and all the VIP client information had vanished. As she frantically searched for backups, Phoenix "coincidentally" passed by with a cup of coffee.
"Dr. Salazar looks so anxious." She tilted her head innocently. "Need any help?"
Wanda gritted her teeth. "No!"
"But..." Phoenix dangled a USB drive in her hand. "I happened to back up the data yesterday."
Wanda's face turned pale as she snatched the USB drive, only to be greeted by a flood of virus warnings upon insertion. All the office computers simultaneously blue-screened, drawing the attention of other doctors.
"You!" Wanda was too furious to speak.
Phoenix covered her mouth and giggled. "I grabbed the wrong one. This is the correct one." She produced another USB drive and waved it in front of Wanda. "But I just remembered I have something to do, so I'll be leaving now."
In the afternoon, George arrived for his follow-up appointment. Phoenix "coincidentally" was at the front desk, wearing a low-cut blouse. As she leaned over to register him, her neckline gaped open.
"Mr. Russell," she called sweetly, "Dr. Salazar has a meeting, so I'll take you to the lounge to wait."
George nodded slightly, letting her take his arm. Phoenix took the opportunity to press her body against him, her chest brushing against his arm.
"Mr. Russell," she whispered in his ear, her breath warm, "I have a little something for you. Want to give it a try?"
George calmly withdrew his arm. "I think you’ve got the wrong idea."
"How could I?" Phoenix persisted, sticking close. "It's just for you."
Just then, the meeting room door burst open. Wanda stood in the doorway, her face dark with anger. "Ms. Lewis! What are you doing?"
Phoenix remained unfazed, provocatively linking her arm with George's. "I'm just showing Mr. Russell the way. Why is Dr. Salazar so tense?"
Wanda stormed over and yanked Phoenix away. "We don't need your help!" She turned to George, her tone instantly softening. "Mr. Russell, I'm sorry for the wait."
George's lips curved slightly. "It's alright, Ms. Lewis is very... enthusiastic."
The comment ignited Wanda's fury. She grabbed Phoenix's wrist and hissed, "Come with me!"
In the restroom, Wanda shoved Phoenix against the wall. "What are you trying to do?"
Phoenix leisurely adjusted her collar. "Why so agitated? I'm just doing my job."
"Your job?" Wanda sneered. "Seducing my patients is part of your job?"
"Your patients?" Phoenix raised her chin disdainfully, her red lips curling into a mocking smile. "Since when did George become your property?"
A flash of malice crossed Wanda's eyes. She gripped Phoenix's wrist tightly, nearly crushing her bones. "If you don't want your identity exposed, don't anger me, Phoenix." She lowered her voice, each word squeezed out through clenched teeth. "Do you really think Kieran's new identity for you can fool everyone?"
Phoenix's face paled momentarily but quickly regained her nonchalant expression. "Oh? And what does Dr. Salazar plan to do? Call the cops on me?" She leaned closer to Wanda's ear, her breath warm. "Don't forget, I know all about your 'special treatment methods.'"
Wanda's pupils contracted, her grip loosening involuntarily.
"That's better." Phoenix took the opportunity to free herself, elegantly adjusting her sleeves. "Let's not interfere with each other and rely on our skills, shall we?"
Wanda took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. "Fine, I won't expose you for now. But if you cross the line again..." She narrowed her eyes. "I won't hesitate to let Mr. Russell know where his 'dear cousin' is now."
Phoenix's smile faltered for a moment but quickly returned to normal. "Don't worry, I'll be very 'well-behaved.'" She elongated the last word, her high heels clicking crisply on the tiles as she left.
Back in the office, Wanda found George standing by the window, his tall figure bathed in sunlight. Hearing the door open, he turned slightly. "Dr. Salazar, are you alright?"
The concern in his voice warmed Wanda's heart. She quickly walked over. "I'm fine, sorry to keep you waiting."
George's lips curved slightly. "Ms. Lewis seems to know me?"
Wanda's heart skipped a beat, and she hurried to explain. "She's just a new assistant, not very professional. Mr. Russell, please don't mind her."
