Chapter 197 Who Dares to Stop Me

No one stopped Anna anymore. She marched into the banquet hall, her mind so preoccupied that she suddenly collided with a passing gentleman.

She lost her balance and stumbled. A gentleman helped her up, but she glared at him instead of thanking him.

Anna wanted to continue her pursuit but couldn't find George and Emma.

Anxiety and anger muddled her thoughts. Anna kept replaying the scene in her mind. That momentary kiss was like a thorn, deeply embedded in her heart, making it impossible to let go.

Anna suddenly remembered that day at The Russell Mansion when George publicly stated he would marry Isabella.

Even if Scarlett was dissatisfied, he was determined to marry Isabella.

Anna searched the hall, trying to find any clue that could guide her. The crowd was bustling, and the hall remained lively. Despite searching every corner, she couldn't find that bitch Isabella.

But Anna found George on the lawn outside the hall. He was wearing a white suit, a color that softened his dominance and made him appear more captivating.

Anna skillfully squeezed out tears and walked up to George, crying to his cold expression, "George, do you really not love me anymore? Is it because I was raped? Please don't abandon me. I can't live without you."

George looked down at her and coldly said, "Anyway, go to hell."

George didn't say this to really force her to die but because he had seen through Anna's trick; her so-called suicide attempts were just a way to force him to give in.

George wanted to leave, but Anna stepped forward and grabbed his sleeve.

"George, please don't abandon me. We have so many years of feelings. Can they not compare to the few months you have with Isabella? She's about to marry Michael, yet she still seduces you. Why do you care about such a bitch? George, I'm the only one who truly loves you!"

Anna cried so hard she was out of breath. Her tears seemed to dry up, and she had no strength left, leaning against George.

At this moment, Anna took out a well-preserved leaf from her pocket. She held the leaf to her heart with both hands and said in a nostalgic tone, "When you gave me this leaf, you said you would take care of me for a lifetime. Only with you by my side can I live my life."

George looked at the leaf and finally wavered. This was the gift he and Emily exchanged under Dreamscape Peak.

Emily gave him a shell, and he gave Emily a leaf. It was a memory he could never forget and the reason he had indulged Anna time and again.

For some reason, he felt disgusted by this memory. But it couldn't be erased.

"If you insist on this wedding, I can give it to you," George coldly said.

Anna was so surprised that she was at a loss for words. She even thought there was something wrong with her ears. George was actually willing to marry her.

But the next second, George's words shattered her hopes.

"But I can only give you a wedding. After the wedding, we will live independently. I won't become your legal husband, and I won't live with you."

She desired not merely the wedding, but George himself!

George seemed to have exhausted all his energy. He didn't want to talk to Anna anymore, so he returned to the banquet hall.

Anna watched George's gradually receding figure with unwillingness. She swore that she must have George tonight.

The wine tasting event in the evening was a perfect opportunity. As long as she could have sex with George, she could win back his heart.

The simplest was to use an aphrodisiac!

Anna dialed Olivia's number and said bluntly, "Get me some more of that aphrodisiac you had before."

"Who do you want to use it on?" Olivia asked.

"Who else but George? I must have him tonight."

Olivia immediately laughed upon hearing this. She had advised Anna many times before to use the drug to sleep with George, but Anna insisted on relying on her charm. Now she still had to ask for the aphrodisiac.

Anna should have given George the aphrodisiac earlier. That way, she and George would have had a child by now.

With their own child, they could get rid of Lucas, so they wouldn't have to take care of Emma's child, which was just annoying.

Olivia agreed without hesitation. "Wait, I'll bring it to you. Be careful not to let anyone find out."

"No problem." Anna replied firmly.

As night fell, the wine tasting event was about to begin. Perhaps because Anna had brought out the token from back then, George couldn't be too cold to her.

Back then, didn't Emma succeed in marrying George because she had sex with him?

If Emma could do it, why couldn't she?

"George, have a drink with me?" Anna smiled sweetly, as if George's coldness wasn't directed at her.

George's frown deepened. He could tell that Anna was acting unusually today. He just tried to get Anna to leave.

But Anna just wouldn't leave, insisting on staying by his side.

Thinking about what had happened with Emma before, George couldn't help but feel suspicious. Was Anna planning something bad again? But Emma was already dead, and Isabella wasn't around. Who could she harm?

"Whatever it is; we can talk about it later." George's voice was cold, with no warmth in his eyes.

Anna smirked, still refusing to back down, persistently holding up her arm, determined to get the glass of wine to George's lips.

"This is a special wine I found just for you. It's a new product; give it a try." Anna's body wrapped around George like a snake.
