Chapter 116 Counterattack

With Anna's help, Olivia hired lawyer Ramon Meza, a guy with a pretty mixed reputation in the industry.

Some folks praised him for his killer skills and spotless record; others couldn't stand him because of his shady character. He once defended a rapist for a hefty fee and actually won the case.

After that, Ramon's fame shot through the roof. Criminals looking to dodge punishment started lining up to hire him.

Ramon became a big shot in the legal world. But anyone with a shred of decency couldn't help but spit when they mentioned his name.

When he heard Anna was offering a fat paycheck, he jumped on board right away.

But then he hit his first career snag—Olivia lost the case.

Emma's jewelry store took a hit of thirty million dollars, and Olivia was on the hook to pay it all back. But she kept dragging her feet and refused to cough up the money.

Faced with no alternative, Emma resorted to legal action, petitioning the court to enforce the judgment. Her goal was to seize Olivia and Jerry's assets to recoup her monumental losses.

The morning sun lit up the clean road as Emma drove towards Olivia and Jerry's residence. Today was the day they were going to repossess Olivia's property, and Emma wanted to be there to see it happen.

Law enforcement officers and her team of bodyguards were on the move.

When they got to the house, the officers knocked on the door.

Olivia was clearly still asleep.

The officers knocked again, this time more forcefully. "Olivia Jones, Jerry Jones, open up!"

After a few minutes, the door finally creaked open. Olivia stood there, furious, her hair a mess, looking totally disheveled.

"Who are you?" she yelled, her eyes flashing with panic. She already had a pretty good idea of what was coming.

She'd been getting court notices every day, counting down to the enforcement.

"We're here to enforce the court's order to repossess your property," the officer said calmly.

"You can't do this! This is my home!" Olivia screamed, trying to block them. In her desperate frenzy, she shoved one of them, inadvertently causing him to stumble backward.

"Your actions are considered disorderly conduct. I can arrest you right now," the officer warned, making Olivia even more frantic.

"You can't do this! I won't let you take my home!" Olivia's voice was shrill and desperate, her emotions spiraling out of control. She tried to hurt more officers, thinking it might save her house.

But the officers were ready. Several of them quickly moved in and restrained her.

"Let me go! You can't do this!" Olivia shouted angrily.

Meanwhile, another officer went inside to find Jerry. After some searching, they found him hiding in a cabinet in the living room corner. Jerry looked pale and scared out of his mind.

"What are you doing?" Jerry stammered.

"We're here to enforce the court's order. Please cooperate," the officer said calmly, then yanked him out of the house and placed him next to Olivia outside the villa to avoid any more trouble.

The officers quickly slapped a big, obvious seal on the villa's door, showing that the house had been seized by the court.

Olivia stared at the seal, feeling a mix of despair and rage.

The property she obtained by exchanging her own daughter was gone just like that!

She had to get the house back. Suddenly, she thought of Anna, who might be able to help them out.

Since they weren't exactly on good terms with the neighbors, no one was willing to help. Without phones or money, Olivia and Jerry had no choice but to trudge over to Anna's house in their pajamas and slippers.

"Anna! Help us! Your father and I have nowhere to live!"

Even though Anna had money, she couldn't change the court's decision. With a helpless sigh, she finally decided to use her savings to pay the $30 million.

"This money took me a long time to save," Anna said, sounding both helpless and heartbroken, but she knew that spending the money was the only way to get Olivia out of this mess.

After all, they were her parents. Plus, as long as it was inconvenient for Anna to show up, Olivia and Jerry were involved.

Regardless of them being her parents, just because of the leverage they held, Anna couldn't ignore them!

After getting the money, Olivia immediately paid off the debt and finally got the house back.

But it wasn't over yet. According to the police, Emma also demanded a personal apology from Olivia and Jerry.

Olivia and Jerry didn't dare refuse, agreeing to whatever the authorities dictated, desperate to restore some order to their lives and eager to return home.

However, when they got back, they found the house in complete chaos. The furniture was overturned, and the walls were filthy.

The seal on the door was untouched, but the windows were all smashed, and even the safe was gone.

They called the police! When the police arrived, they filed a report and collected evidence.

But the criminals had covered their tracks too well. Not a single clue was left behind.

Even the surveillance cameras were first disabled, then destroyed, and finally, the memory cards were taken. The police were stumped.

Meanwhile, Rex and his crew were hiding out in a nearby villa.

After Emma applied for the court's enforcement, she bailed them out of jail.

Emma asked, "The Jones family is so untrustworthy. Do you want revenge?"

They replied, "Of course!"

"Then I'll give you a chance." Emma hired professional hackers to mess with the neighborhood's security system, temporarily disabling surveillance on certain routes. With a clear path set, she led Rex and his crew to the Jones' house, giving them free rein to unleash chaos.

Rex did all this while live-streaming it. Emma held her phone, smiling with satisfaction.

"Mommy, why are you smiling?" Seraphine asked innocently.

Emma said, "Because something good happened!"
