Chapter 111 Mr. Russell is not here

Anna didn't let the receptionist's rude comments get to her.

She marched straight to the CEO's private elevator and headed right to George's office.

She barged in, only to find George's assistant, Joshua Thomas, sitting there.

"Joshua, where's George?"

"He's out," Joshua said, not even looking up.

"I know he's out. Where did he go?" Anna's patience, already thin, was rapidly nearing its breaking point.

"I don't know."

"You're his assistant, and you don't know where he went? The Russell Group pays you a ton just to sit around?" Her voice rose with every word.

"I'm not slacking off," Joshua replied, still calm.

"You! Just wait! I'll have George fire you right now!"

Joshua finally looked up at her and said, "Okay."

"Do you think I won't find out if you don't tell me?" Anna pulled out her phone and opened a tracking app. She had secretly installed it on George's phone when she bought it for him this year.

Today, it was finally useful. She started fiddling with her phone.

Joshua, sensing a shift in Anna's demeanor, glanced up from his work. He watched intently, his curiosity piqued, as she navigated her phone, subtly shifting it in various directions.

Finally, she smirked. After finishing up, Anna stormed out.

Joshua picked the most low-key security guard to follow her and make sure she didn't cause any trouble.

The security guard tailed Anna all the way to a hotel George often visited.

When the security guard reported back to Joshua, Joshua frowned. 'How does Anna know where Mr. Russell is?'

Indeed, George was at the hotel, enjoying dinner with a woman who bore an uncanny resemblance to Emma. Despite her likeness, the woman adamantly denied being Emma.

All the info on Isabella said she was from the country of Sunterra, grew up there, never been to Lakeside Haven, studied psychology in college, had a bunch of hobbies, and a close boyfriend.

Whether she was Emma or not was still up in the air.

But no matter what, George always treated her differently.

When George met Isabella at the entrance of the store on Crystal Street, he invited her. "Ms. Taylor, can I take you to lunch?"

"Sure."

Emma got into George's car for the second time, sitting in the front passenger seat again. This time, she finally took a good look at George's car.

The car was so clean it looked like it hadn't been driven in years. No dust, no scratches, and no decorations at all.

At a red light, George took a bottle of mango juice from the glove compartment and handed it to Emma.

"Ms. Taylor, are you thirsty? Want some juice?"

"Thank you."

Emma looked at the mango juice in her hand, a slight smile playing on her lips. George knew she was severely allergic to mangoes. She'd once been rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night after accidentally eating something with mango in it.

If she drank this bottle of mango juice, such a large dose, it could be fatal. The 500ml drink felt heavy in her hand.

'Alright, George, if this is what you want, I'll drink it,' Emma thought.

Emma unscrewed the cap and took a big gulp of the mango juice.

George panicked immediately; he didn't expect Emma to actually drink it! In that instant, George felt like he was back on the day Emma drank Seafood Chowder and was rushed to the hospital.

It was a memory he would never forget.

"You drank it? Spit it out!" George slammed on the brakes, stopping by the roadside. The driver behind him almost rear-ended him.

George's heart was pounding with anxiety, but Emma sat calmly in the car, showing no signs of discomfort.

"Mr. Russell, can't I drink this juice? Then why did you give it to me?"

George was at a loss for words, while Emma smiled.

'Come on, keep testing, see how far you can go,' Emma thought.

As long as she didn't admit it, she would always be Isabella.

George didn't explain and continued driving. Soon, they arrived at the Azure Haven Hotel.

George escorted Emma to their reserved table, pulling out a chair for her with a gentlemanly flourish. She settled into her seat, and almost instantly, a procession of beautifully presented dishes began to arrive.

George played the role of a perfect host. He placed a piece of delicious-looking fish in her bowl.

"It's very light; you'll like it," George said gently.

Emma remained indifferent. Now he knew she liked light food. When her stomach lining was damaged, he still forced her to eat spicy food.

"This dish is really good. Mr. Russell, you have great taste," Emma praised.

A lunch filled with ulterior motives ended with George's probing.

At this moment, Emma's gaze unintentionally swept to the restaurant entrance, where she suddenly saw Anna. Her smile grew even brighter.

However, George appeared oblivious to Anna's presence, his attention wholly absorbed in tending to Emma with meticulous care.

Originally, Emma wanted to leave, but since Anna was here, she decided to stay a little longer.

Anna was fuming as she watched them, especially when she saw Emma's radiant smile.

George slightly lowered his head, seemingly listening intently to her.

George hadn't had a meal with her in a long time! She was determined to win George's heart back!

Anna immediately sent a request and deposit to the rumored perfumer Ava; she wanted a custom-made scent to attract men!

Almost simultaneously, Emma's phone beeped. She glanced at it and smiled thoughtfully.

"Ms. Taylor, what happened? You seem so happy," George asked.

"Nothing." Emma wasn't supposed to tell him that Anna was planning to drug him.
