Chapter 223 Plastic Surgery

To confirm her suspicions, Sophia called the plastic surgery clinic to check Anna's medical records.

The doctor, motivated by money, admitted that Anna had undergone minor cosmetic surgery, mainly to adjust her face shape and nose.

The results were subtle but effective; at first glance, the changes were minimal, but her features were noticeably different.

"Doc, can you show me what Anna looked like before the surgery?" Sophia asked.

The doctor had no reason to refuse and showed Sophia the before-and-after photos of Anna.

After that, Sophia was stunned.

If Anna had grown naturally, she would have looked like her pre-surgery self. But she chose to undergo surgery, altering her appearance to resemble Sophia more closely.

Why would Anna do such a thing? Was she feeling insecure and believed that by changing her appearance to look more like Sophia?

Sophia thought, 'This foolish child must have believed that only by looking similar would she be acknowledged.' Her heart ached for Anna even more.

Meantime, Sophia's recent busyness caught Henry's attention.

"Honey, what have you been investigating lately?" Henry asked.

There were no secrets between them, so she told him everything she had been doing. Henry laughed at her worries.

"Honey, we have a paternity test. If you really doubt it, just verify the authenticity of the test." Henry stroked Sophia's smooth hair. "DNA is much more reliable than appearances."

"You're right. I'll check it out." She replied.

Sophia was decisive. She immediately set out to verify the test. Henry watched her leave with a smile, which faded only after she was out of sight.

Henry hadn't stopped Sophia from doing these things because he, too, had doubts about Anna's true identity.

Anna's appearance and personality were very different from theirs, but she bore a striking resemblance to Jerry and Olivia.

Could this all be a scam?

Sophia held Anna's paternity test results, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

Although she had once believed in the authenticity of the test, her investigation into Anna's appearance changes made her question its reliability.

Sophia remembered that the test had been done at a reputable genetic testing facility. She decided to contact the facility again to inquire about the details of the test.

She quickly dialed the number of the genetic testing facility. "Hi, I have a paternity test result and would like to verify its authenticity."

"Please provide the test number, and we will check the records for you," the receptionist replied.

Sophia quickly found the number on the test and provided it.

After a few minutes, the receptionist responded, "We have located the record for the number you provided. The results confirm that you and Anna are indeed related."

Hearing this, Sophia felt a wave of relief.

However, to be absolutely sure, Sophia decided to visit the facility in person to review the original records.

Accompanied by a staff member, Sophia entered the archive room and carefully examined Anna's test records. The documents detailed the sample collection times, locations, and the specific testing procedures.

The process was very thorough, and the sample sources were well-documented.

The paternity test was genuine.

This meant that Anna was indeed her biological daughter!

Isabella had been deliberately trying to drive a wedge between her and Anna!

How could there be such a malicious woman in the world?

It was clear that Isabella needed to be taught a lesson!

However, before Sophia could take any action, Anna came home in tears.

After the wedding, Anna had been overjoyed, thinking she could finally move into George's house.

But reality was not as she had imagined.

George had kept his promise to hold the wedding but refused to be a real husband.

Anna couldn't accept this!

Therefore, she packed her bags, eager to move into George's villa. But when she tried to open the door, she found it locked with a password.

"How could this be?" Anna's heart sank. She tried her birthday and some common passwords, but all attempts failed.

They were married, yet she couldn't even enter his home.

Feeling helpless, she heard George's voice from inside, "Who's there?"

"George, it's me. Open the door," Anna tried to sound as gentle as possible.

George indifferently replied, "This is my house. It's not your house, so please leave."

"George, don't turn me away! We're married. We're supposed to be together," Anna's voice trembled.

"I don't need you here." George's voice carried a hint of impatience, followed by the sound of the door locking, making Anna's heart sink further.

"Why do you always treat me like this?" Anna couldn't help but ask.

"I've told you, I don't want any involvement with you." George's voice was cold, as if declaring her uselessness.

Anna's heart felt like it was being torn apart, and tears streamed down her face. She didn't know how to face the man she loved who was so indifferent to her.

After much struggle, Anna finally decided not to pester George anymore. She needed to find another way.

So, Anna went to The Russell Mansion. The door opened slowly, and Scarlett's face showed a hint of confusion.

"What are you doing here?" Scarlett's tone was slightly displeased.

"Mom, I want to talk to you," Anna tried to keep her voice calm. "I want to fix my relationship with George. Can you put in a good word for me?"

Scarlett frowned slightly, clearly uninterested in Anna's request. "George has made it clear he doesn't want to see you. Stop bothering him."

"He misunderstands me. I really want to be with him," Anna pleaded. "Mom, please, I'll do anything if you help me."

A glimmer of interest flashed in Scarlett's eyes as she considered Anna's words.

Anna's determination wasn't baseless. Perhaps she could use this opportunity to benefit the Russell family.

"If you want to move into George's house, I have one condition," Scarlett finally said.
