Chapter 86 Agreed to the Divorce

When Emma first got to the hospital, she was a bundle of nerves.

But seeing George lying there, pale and still, made her worry even more. Just as she was about to sit down, she heard George mumble in his sleep, "Emma..."

A wave of warmth and emotion hit her, washing away all her resentment and unhappiness. She realized George still wanted her around, deep down.

Emma decided to stay by George's side every day, telling him stories and sharing bits of her life.

She softly talked about their good times, hoping her voice would reach his sleeping soul. Every time she saw his face relax a bit, her hope grew.

At night, Emma often fell asleep by George's bedside.

She liked watching him sleep, feeling that he couldn't hurt her or make her afraid when he was like this. His familiar face looked especially gentle in the dim light, radiating warmth and peace.

Three days later, on a warm afternoon, Emma thought she heard George's voice in her dream.

When she woke up, it was already dusk, and her mind slowly cleared. She felt something gentle and secure around her. Opening her eyes slightly, her heart skipped a beat—she was in George's arms.

Her heart raced. Emma slowly looked up, her eyes meeting George's familiar, charming face. His eyes were as gentle as the morning light, watching her like she was a beautiful painting.

"You're awake," George said, his voice deep and magnetic, with a hint of laziness. His eyes sparkled with warmth, making Emma's heart flutter.

"Why am I here?" Emma's voice trembled, and her cheeks flushed. She realized she was tightly held by George, stirring up complex emotions in her heart.

"I carried you up here," George said softly. His arms tightened a bit, and Emma felt his warmth, filling her heart with sweetness.

In that moment, time seemed to stand still. Everything around them blurred, leaving only the growing closeness between them. Emma's heartbeat was loud and clear, responding to his gentle call.

Emma was moved, her eyes glistening with tears. She couldn't understand why he was still so gentle with her. She couldn't believe George liked her, nor did she dare to crave the warmth he gave.

She gently tried to push him away, but George held her tighter.

"Don't leave me," George said firmly, pleading for her to stay.

But Anna didn't want Emma to stay! Just as Emma and George were wrapped in their warm moment, Anna, Sophia, and Henry burst in. Sophia's face was full of anger, her gaze like a knife stabbing at Emma, accusing her mercilessly, "You shameless, lewd woman, how dare you seduce George here!"

Emma's heart ached, the warmth on her face instantly replaced by cold agony. She wanted to explain, but Sophia's voice drowned her out. "Who do you think you are? How dare you call Anna to show off! Do you think taking care of George for a few days can replace Anna? Dream on!"

Anna cried beside her, eyes full of grievance and anger. "Emma, I beg you, please don't let anyone hurt Lucas again, okay? His face just healed, and now you've made him bleed a lot again! If you want revenge, take it out on me! George, I don't want your promise anymore, I just want Lucas to be okay..."

Anna came prepared, rushing forward and pulling out a knife, trying to place it in Emma's hand. She was stopped by Henry after just two steps.

"Come on, Emma, I'll repay you!" Anna cried out in agony.

Hearing Lucas, George felt a sharp pain in his heart. That was his only son, who had been hurt by Emma again!

How could he feel content holding Emma right now?

Evil Emma, how could she have done such a thing! In order to protect Lucas and keep his promise to Anna, he could no longer be with Emma.

"Emma, get out!" George's voice was cold and firm, mercilessly pushing Emma off the bed. Emma fell to the ground in pain. But no one around cared about her safety.

"Why do you never learn! How dare you bully Anna again!" George's eyes flashed with anger, filled with suspicion towards Emma. His voice was as cold as a knife, "Apologize to Anna!"

"I won't apologize!" Emma, though sitting on the ground in a sorry state, could only look up at the others. However, her voice was firm, filled with unyielding stubbornness.

She knew she was being unjustly accused without doing anything. "Anna, I know what you want to do. I'll find a notary, and we'll settle this today!"

With that, Emma took out her phone and called Scarlett, her tone calm and firm, "George has woken up, please come to the hospital immediately to fulfill the promise."

"You!" George was stunned, a wave of shock and unease in his heart.

He seemed to have guessed Emma's intention, but he didn't believe it Emma could really abandon him!

Didn't she claim she loved him? Why didn't she love him now? Why was she giving up the position of his wife now?

Scarlett quickly arrived at the hospital. Emma got straight to the point, directly demanding the previous promise.

"Yes, I promised Emma that as soon as you woke up, she would get a divorce."

George was silent, feeling a surge of anger at the audacity of them making decisions on his behalf.

Sophia, with the demeanor of a mother-in-law, commanded, "George, don't worry about Charles's thoughts anymore. He wants you to be happy, not trapped in a painful marriage."

George still didn't speak.

"Are you reluctant to part with this lewd Emma?" Sophia continued, "Do you know, when Anna was arranging your transfer, Emma was flirting with another man! She has long been unfaithful to you, George!"

George looked at the tear-streaked Anna, then at the stubborn Emma who refused to admit defeat. Childhood promises ultimately prevailed.

"Fine, I'll get a divorce!"
