Chapter 306 Meeting Before Death

Just then, the door creaked open.

George's hopeful eyes were glued to the entrance.

Was it Emma?

Reality hit George like a freight train. It wasn't Emma; it was Joshua.

"Mr. Russell, there's something I need to tell you," Joshua's voice wavered slightly.

George looked up, his eyes showing a hint of exhaustion. "What is it?"

"Before the execution, Anna wants to see you," Joshua's tone was uneasy. "She says she has important information for you. It's about the child who died years ago, Ms. Jones' child."

They once had a child, but he had caused the child's death with his own hands!

What did Anna want now?

"Get the car ready!"

The atmosphere in the prison visiting room was stifling. George sat on one side of the glass partition, staring coldly at Anna on the other side. Her hair was a mess, her face pale, and her eyes gleamed with madness. She looked like a madman.

"George, you finally came. I thought you'd never come to see me," Anna's voice was hoarse, grating on the ears.

"Say what you have to say," George's voice was icy, his eyes showing a hint of impatience.

Anna let out a cold laugh, her eyes flashing with madness. "Do you know? I've been waiting for you, waiting for you to come and hear this secret."

"A secret?" George's brow furrowed slightly.

What trick was Anna trying to pull now?

"Yes, a secret about Isabella," Anna's voice carried a sinister smile. "Don't you want to know why she got close to you?"

A complex emotion flashed in George's eyes. "What are you trying to say?"

Anna leaned forward slightly. "George, do you really think Isabella loves you? You're wrong! She got close to you because she hates you for ruining her life!"

After all, her death was imminent. She might as well have one last hurrah before she died.

If they wouldn't let her have peace, she would make sure none of them did either!

Anna's voice rose, tinged with hysterical madness. "Isabella is Emma! Do you remember how you treated her back then? You abandoned her without hesitation for me, making her lose everything! Do you think she would forgive you? No, she never will!"

George's face turned pale, a wave of indescribable regret washing over him.

Back then, he hadn't recognized his true feelings and thought Anna was the girl from his childhood. He protected Anna time and again, hurting Emma in the process.

"Emma hates you for destroying her life!" Anna's voice was mocking. "She came back to make you taste what it's like to lose everything!"

George's heart ached.

"George, you deserve it!" Anna's voice was filled with mad glee. "You deserve to lose everything and to be alone forever!"

Anna let out a cold laugh, her eyes gleaming with madness. "George, I'm telling you, Emma will never forgive you! You'll never have her love!"

George's fists clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white. His heart was filled with endless pain and regret, but he still gritted his teeth and said, "Don't talk nonsense. You know what I want to hear."

"Isn't it about the child's whereabouts?" Anna laughed cruelly. "That child is indeed still alive, but he's living a fate worse than death! I sent him abroad. You know some countries use babies for human experiments, right?"

"They're ruthless. They inject drugs into these kids, using them as lab rats. Some are used as blood banks. Those tiny kids are drained of their blood, turning into dried-up corpses." As she continued her ruthless tirade, "And organs, they're worth a lot. Children's organs are top-notch. Do you think Emma's child is still intact?"

Anna seemed to get more excited as she spoke, her eyes flashing with pathological madness.

"Shut up! Stop talking!"

George's anger was almost consuming him.

"Anna, do you think I'll believe you?" George's words were squeezed out through gritted teeth. "You killed that child, and now you want to use him to threaten me?"

Anna's laugh was sharp and grating. "I'm not threatening you; I'm just telling you the truth. George, you're so arrogant that you only believe your own judgment."

Anna's laughter abruptly stopped. "I won't tell you where that child is! I'm going to die anyway, so I'll take someone down with me!"

Anna always knew how to hit where it hurt.

George felt like she had stabbed him, leaving him bleeding.

George knew Anna was a habitual liar, but he couldn't risk that she might be telling the truth. As long as there was a glimmer of hope, he had to try.

"Anna, if you don't want to die horribly, tell me where the child is!" George's voice was filled with endless hatred.

"George, do you think I'm afraid? Let me tell you, I always knew this day would come. But before I die, I can make sure you and Emma are never together! I can make sure you never find your child! And my child is living a good life as a rich kid! That's my victory!"

George's heart ached. Anna was right; he could never win back Emma's heart, never gain her forgiveness.

All of this was caused by Anna's madness.

He hated Anna for ruining Emma's life and Emma's child.

But George hated himself even more.

Anna shouted, "Go ahead, hate me all you want! George, I want you to live in regret forever!"

George didn't argue with Anna anymore. He turned and left, leaving behind Anna's maniacal laughter.

There was no way George would let Anna off the hook. He had just signed the transfer papers.

Anna was escorted by two prison guards, her hands cuffed behind her back, stumbling as she followed him. Her face was pale, her eyes filled with fear and unease.

Wasn't she supposed to wait for her execution in prison? Why was George taking her away?

She didn't want to fall into George's hands!

Anna exclaimed, "George, where are you taking me?"

George didn't look back. "You don't need to know."

Anna's body trembled slightly, fear flashing in her eyes. She regretted it. She shouldn't have provoked George! George had completely lost his mind, and his methods would make her wish she were dead!

The guards shoved Anna into a black sedan. George sat in the front passenger seat, staring straight ahead, his face expressionless.

Anna knew his every expression well. The calmer George looked, the angrier he was.

The car slowly drove out of the prison, heading towards the outskirts. Anna's heart raced, her mind blank with fear. She couldn't even imagine what fate awaited her!

Anna shouted, "Take me back! I want to go back to prison!"

"It's too late." George replied coldly.

The car stopped in front of a secluded villa. George got out and roughly dragged Anna out of the car. Her legs gave way, nearly causing her to fall, but George didn't give her any chance to catch her breath. He dragged her straight into the villa's basement.
