Chapter 285 The Group's Main Entrance

Today was Emma's first day at work, and she couldn't afford to be late.

After dealing with a traffic accident, she pulled out her phone to call a ride, but the morning rush hour made it impossible to get one.

"What should I do now?" She looked around and suddenly noticed a row of shared bikes parked by the sidewalk.

Emma quickly walked over to one of the bikes, unlocked it, and started pedaling towards the Russell Group.

After some effort, Emma finally arrived at the Russell Group. She parked the shared bike, straightened her clothes, took a deep breath, and was about to walk towards the entrance.

"Hey, hold up! What do you think you're doing?"

A security guard came up behind her, looking her up and down with a disdainful expression.

"This is the Russell Group! You can't park shared bikes here. Move it somewhere else," the guard said coldly, his tone dripping with contempt, as if he was dealing with someone who didn't know their place.

Emma was taken aback and felt a bit annoyed, but she didn't argue. She nodded and obediently moved the bike to the designated area. Even though she was George's wife, she knew she had to follow the rules in such a setting.

Just as she finished parking the bike, Emma headed towards the entrance again. However, the guard blocked her path once more, his expression still indifferent.

"This is the Russell Group. No unauthorized personnel allowed."

"I work here," Emma said, her voice turning cold.

"Work here? Did you even graduate from college? How could you possibly work here?" The guard's tone was filled with obvious suspicion and disdain. "I've seen plenty of women like you, thinking you can snag a rich guy just because you're somewhat attractive. Get out of here. People from the Russell Group aren't for gold diggers like you!"

Emma understood that the guard had a deep prejudice against her.

But instead of getting angry, she felt a bit pleased. After all, no woman would be unhappy to be told she looks much younger than her age.

Had her change in outfit and makeup made her look that young?

She looked down at her clothes. To look more like a regular employee, she had dressed simply today. She wore a plain white blouse, made of light, breathable fabric that subtly revealed her healthy skin, giving off a pure and natural vibe.

She paired it with light blue high-waisted jeans, the cuffs slightly rolled up, revealing a pair of white canvas shoes—simple and comfortable.

For accessories, Emma chose a minimalist style. She wore only a pair of small silver earrings and a thin bracelet on her wrist, with a tiny heart-shaped pendant.

These clothes and accessories were custom-made, so they didn't have any obvious brand labels. To the guard, the items probably looked cheap, making Emma an easy target.

"I'm a new intern," Emma explained calmly.

"Impossible! It's not graduation season, and our company isn't hiring new interns! You think you can fool me? No way!" The guard was about to pull out a baton to chase her away when a long white Rolls-Royce pulled up at the Russell Group entrance.

Seeing the car, the guard immediately perked up and quickly walked over, a fawning smile on his face.

"Welcome, miss!" The guard respectfully opened the car door, his smile almost overflowing.

He had memorized this license plate long ago—it belonged to the Russell family. It had to be someone of significant status arriving in the Russell family's car.

The car door slowly opened, and a meticulously dressed young woman stepped out. She wore a stylish dress paired with high heels, looking exceptionally elegant. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, her makeup was flawless, and she wore a confident, proud smile, as if the world was at her feet.

Given her age and the fact that she arrived in the Russell family's car, there was only one possibility—she was George's wife!

The young woman stepped out of the car, slightly raising her chin, her gaze sweeping around with a hint of smugness.

The guard, now even more certain of her identity, quickly said, "Please follow me, miss."

The young woman let out a light hum, her tone filled with disdain. She had no desire to speak to someone of his status.

The guard led the young woman into the lobby, where employees stopped their work to look at her. Their expressions showed respect and admiration when they saw her arrival, as if they had been eagerly awaiting her.

The reaction of the crowd pleased the young woman.

"Good morning, miss!" An employee stepped forward, smiling and greeting her with respect.

"Morning," the young woman responded coolly, her face adorned with a confident smile.

The receptionist respectfully led the young woman to a warmer, cozier lounge.

Employees were decorating the lobby with colorful balloons and flowers, tables laden with exquisite snacks and drinks, the whole space brimming with a festive atmosphere, clearly prepared to welcome a VIP.

"Could she be Mrs. Russell?" an employee whispered, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"There's no one else it could be. She arrived in the Russell family's custom Rolls-Royce," another employee replied, their tone filled with envy.

In a corner, Emma quietly observed everything.

She had sneaked into the lobby while the guard was distracted. Her gaze remained fixed on the young woman, wondering who she was and why she was in the Russell family's car.

Moreover, she had never seen anyone like her in the Russell family before.

The young woman was surrounded by enthusiastic employees, all offering her a warm welcome as the event began. She wore a smug smile, clearly satisfied. Whenever someone toasted her or gave her a gift, she responded gracefully, enjoying the attention.

"Thank you all for the warm welcome. I will do my best to contribute to the company," the young woman's voice was clear and loud, tinged with arrogance, as if declaring her status.

Phoenix Lewis had just returned to the country today. She had been studying abroad in Sunterra for the past few years. Today, she only informed her aunt, Scarlett, who sent a car to pick her up from the airport. However, instead of going home or to the Russell Mansion, she came straight to the Russell Group.

She wanted to see her cousin George, whom she hadn't seen in years.

She thought only Scarlett knew about her return, but to her surprise, George had arranged a welcome event at the Russell Group. Although it was simple, she didn't blame George, considering she had only informed Scarlett right before boarding the plane.
