Chapter 420 Indecency
Holding his lover, George felt an overwhelming sense of peace.
His breathing gradually deepened, but his arms stayed wrapped around her, like he was scared she might slip away.
Emma quietly opened her eyes, a mix of emotions flickering in her gaze. She gently slipped out of his embrace, moving as silently as a cat to avoid making any noise.
Sitting up, she looked down at George's sleeping face, her fingers lightly tracing his brow. Her eyes showed a hint of reluctance, but it was quickly replaced by determination. She reached into the nightstand drawer and pulled out a small bottle filled with a clear liquid. Unscrewing the cap, she brought the bottle close to George's nose, her movements so swift they were almost imperceptible.
George's brow furrowed slightly, his breathing grew heavier, and then he fell into a deep unconsciousness, his arm hanging limply off the bed. Emma watched him, a flicker of guilt crossing her face, but she soon regained her composure. She gently repositioned his arm, tucked him in, and then walked to the door, quietly unlocking it.
She lay back down on the bed, as if she had never woken up. The room fell silent again, with only the warm yellow glow of the bedside lamp illuminating the space.
Not long after, the bedroom door was quietly pushed open, and a shadow slipped in without a sound.
Phoenix, concealed behind a chillingly lifelike human skin mask, swiftly scanned the room before finally resting his gaze on the nightstand. She tiptoed over, expertly opened the drawer to search. At last, she found the document she was looking for.
She stuffed the document into her pocket and turned to leave.
As she reached the door, she glanced back at Emma on the bed, her eyes cold. But when her gaze fell on George's handsome face, it softened with affection.
Emma, with her eyes closed, had no idea what Scarlett was doing. She only heard Phoenix's footsteps stop at the door, then inexplicably return.
The footsteps grew closer, finally stopping beside George's bed.
Scarlett didn't move.
Emma, puzzled, couldn't resist opening her eyes just a sliver to see what Scarlett was up to. The sight before her made her eyes widen in shock, her heart pounding wildly.
Scarlett had leaned over, her movements lewd as she approached George. Her fingers lightly traced his cheek, her eyes filled with a sickening greed and desire. Her other hand roamed over George's chest, her actions brazen and inappropriate, as if she were indulging in some forbidden pleasure.
Emma felt as if something had struck her hard, leaving her breathless with shock. She couldn't believe her eyes—Scarlett was George's mother! How could she do this to him?
George remained deeply asleep, his breathing steady, completely unaware of what was happening. His brow furrowed slightly, as if instinctively sensing discomfort, but he showed no signs of waking.
Scarlett's actions grew bolder, her eyes reflecting a twisted satisfaction, a creepy smile playing on her lips. Her fingers roamed over George's chest, as if admiring a piece of art that belonged to her.
Emma's emotions churned—shock, anger, disgust swirling into one, nearly compelling her to leap up and intervene. But she knew she couldn't act rashly, or everything would be ruined. She forced herself to continue pretending to sleep, watching helplessly as it all unfolded.
Scarlett seemed unsatisfied, her actions becoming more outrageous, even leaning in as if to kiss George. Emma felt a wave of nausea, barely holding back a scream.
Just then, Phoenix suddenly stopped, as if realizing something, and straightened up, looking around warily.
Her eyes flashed with panic, but she quickly regained her composure. She glanced down at George, a crazed smile on her lips, then turned and left the room, her footsteps fading down the hallway.
The room fell silent again, with only George's steady breathing and Emma's rapid heartbeat filling the space. Emma's eyes flew open, filled with shock and anger. She looked at George's sleeping face, her emotions in turmoil.
Had Scarlett gone mad?
Phoenix had no idea that Emma had witnessed everything. At that moment, she was hiding in the bedroom, secretly going through Emma's files. As she suspected, it was the competition's theme.
Next, she just needed to get her hands on the designs Emma had paid someone to create. During the competition, she would present them first, and when Emma brought out the identical designs, she could accuse Emma of plagiarism.
In front of everyone, Emma would have no way to defend herself!
Then, she could bask in the glory of defeating Miss Lady's chief designer and make a sensational debut at the jewelry design competition.
Phoenix lay on her bed, a face mask on, happily plotting her future.
With less than two days until the competition, she decided she had to buy the most dazzling dress from a high-end store tomorrow to outshine everyone! She could already picture herself on stage, the center of attention, a smile spreading across her face, almost cracking her face mask.
Meanwhile, Sophia was also busy. Sitting at her vanity, flipping through a fashion magazine, she pondered how to help Emma shine at the competition. Though Emma had always been somewhat distant, Sophia didn't want to miss this opportunity. She decided she would take Emma to buy the most beautiful dress, even if Emma refused, she would try.
So, Sophia picked up her phone and sent Emma a message: [Emma, are you free tomorrow? Come with me to Lunora to pick out a dress?] She felt a bit anxious, fearing Emma might outright refuse.
To her surprise, her phone quickly buzzed with Emma's reply, making her overjoyed: [Sure, see you tomorrow.]
Sophia almost laughed out loud, her heart bursting with happiness. "Emma actually agreed! Wonderful!"
Sophia: [Then let's meet at Lunora's store at noon tomorrow!]
Lunora, a globally renowned luxury brand headquartered in Sunterra, was hailed as the crown of the fashion world.
