Chapter 252 Injured
By now, the police had reached the edge of the pool, quickly surrounding Lyanna.
In the dimly lit venue, the officers formed a tight circle around her.
"Get off me!" Lyanna shouted angrily, her voice cutting through the chaos of the event.
"Don't move! We're the police, and you're under arrest!" one officer barked, snapping handcuffs onto Lyanna's wrists. The other officers stood guard, making sure she had no chance to escape.
Suddenly, the crowd erupted into chaos.
In the darkness and panic, people began to rush toward the exits, breaking the police's circle and giving Lyanna a chance to flee.
A surge of joy filled Lyanna's heart as she broke free from the officers' grip and dashed toward Emma. Despite her hands being cuffed, she managed to pull a gleaming knife from her waist.
"Isabella, I'm going to avenge Molly!" Lyanna screamed, charging at Emma.
Emma realized the danger too late. She tried to back away, but it was too late. Just as Lyanna was about to strike, George burst out from the crowd.
"Isabella, get down!" George shouted, throwing himself in front of Emma.
"How dare you hurt her! Get lost!" George pushed Lyanna's knife away with all his strength. The blade sliced across his arm, and blood gushed out, but he didn't flinch.
"George!" Emma cried out in shock.
She hadn't expected George to come to her rescue at such a critical moment.
Once again, George had protected her with his own body!
Lyanna swung the knife again, but George grabbed her wrist firmly, preventing her from attacking further.
"Get her!" The police regrouped and quickly subdued Lyanna, forcibly taking the knife from her.
"Isabella! I'll be back! I will kill you!" Lyanna screamed defiantly as the police restrained her.
"The only one who's going to die is you, and you will pay the price." George said coldly. If the police weren't there, he would have used Lyanna's knife to end her life himself.
The police dragged Lyanna to the squad car and drove away.
Emma looked at George's injured arm, feeling a mix of pain and gratitude.
She quickly approached him, concern evident in her voice. "You got hurt again because of me."
"Better me than you," George replied with a slight smile. Despite the blood streaming from his arm, he breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Isabella was safe, he didn't mind another scar.
Emma said, "Let me bandage you up."
By now, the lights in the venue had come back on. Emma found a first aid kit from the staff and prepared to treat George's wound.
She carefully opened the kit, taking out antiseptic and gauze. Her fingers brushed lightly over George's arm, avoiding the wound as much as possible. As she touched his wound, the atmosphere between them grew more intimate.
"This might sting a bit," Emma said softly.
"It doesn't hurt," George replied with a gentle smile, a hint of tenderness in his eyes. He looked at Emma, feeling a warmth in his heart. Emma gently applied the antiseptic to the wound, and George couldn't help but inhale sharply, a flash of pain crossing his face. Emma immediately stopped, looking at him with concern. "I'm sorry; I'll be more gentle."
"It's okay," George said in a low, soothing voice, his eyes full of trust.
With Emma's careful attention, the wound was soon bandaged. Her movements were gentle and meticulous, as if she were caring for more than just his physical injury, but also the emotional bond between them.
"All done. It should be fine now," Emma said softly, looking up at George and seeing the affection in his eyes.
"Thanks, Isabella," George said, feeling as if he were under a spell that was called Isabella.
"As long as you're okay, I'm relieved," Emma replied with a slight smile.
She couldn't help but smile, even though George had gotten hurt again because of her.
In the police interrogation room, Lyanna sat behind a metal table, handcuffed, with two officers seated across from her.
"Lyanna, you're charged with assault and attempted murder of Isabella. Now, please answer our questions truthfully," one officer said sternly, his gaze fixed on Lyanna.
Lyanna let out a cold laugh, showing no concern. "I tried to kill Isabella because Sophia ordered me to. She's the mastermind!"
She had planned this all along. If caught, she would implicate Sophia. Everyone knew Anna and Molly were Sophia's daughters, and Sophia seeking revenge for them made sense.
"Do you have any evidence?" the other officer asked, his tone skeptical.
"Evidence? Of course not, but I know she wanted revenge for Anna and Molly!" Lyanna's voice rose. "She's always wanted revenge, and Isabella was her target!"
"Even so, your actions still constitute assault," the officer continued.
"I was coerced! I'm innocent!" Lyanna argued angrily.
"According to the law, those who incite others to commit crimes are as responsible as those who commit the crimes. If you can prove Sophia directed you, she will face legal consequences too," the officer explained calmly. "But that doesn't absolve you of your responsibility."
Lyanna's face paled as she realized shifting the blame wouldn't work. Even if she couldn't get off scot-free, she was determined to bring Sophia down with her.
She hadn't protected Molly, so she deserved to die!
Ultimately, Lyanna was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to twenty years in prison.
The police then turned their attention to Sophia. If she was the mastermind, she would also face justice.
Soon, the police arrived at The Stuart Villa.
"I'm with the police, open up!" an officer banged on the door.
After a while, the door opened slowly, and Sophia stood there, a look of surprise on her face. "What's this about?"
"You're being accused in connection with Lyanna's case. Please come with us," the officer said calmly, ready to take her in.
Just then, the officer's phone rang. He answered it, listening to Dominic's voice on the other end, his expression growing more complex.
