Chapter 392 There Is a Problem
The men didn't hesitate any longer and sprang into action.
One of them grabbed Phoenix's jacket roughly and yanked it hard, tearing it open to reveal the shirt underneath.
Phoenix struggled and cursed, "You jerks! Let go of me!"
The men were unfazed and grew even more brazen.
Jack stood nearby, pale and trembling, too scared to intervene. His eyes were filled with fear and hesitation, clearly unwilling to stand up for his wife, and could only watch as she was humiliated.
Just as the men were about to take things further, a loud bang came from outside the room. The door was kicked open, and two tall figures stormed in.
George and Joshua moved in perfect sync, as if they had rehearsed this countless times.
George's eyes were sharp, his movements agile. With one punch, he knocked the nearest man to the ground. His actions were swift and powerful, his fist connecting with the man's jaw, sending him down with a painful groan.
Joshua followed closely behind, delivering a side kick that sent another man flying.
The man stumbled back several steps, crashing heavily into the wall before collapsing to the floor. The room was filled with the sounds of groans and cries as the two men efficiently took down their opponents.
In just a few moments, all the men were on the ground, unable to resist.
George scanned the room coldly before walking over to Phoenix, asking softly, "Mom, you okay?"
Phoenix shook her head. Though still angry, she felt a wave of relief at George's arrival.
George had come to save her.
George turned to the men on the floor, his eyes icy, "Get out. Don't let me see you again."
The men scrambled to their feet and fled the room, humiliated.
Joshua walked over to Jack and helped him up, "Mr. Jack Russell, you need to be more careful next time." His voice was calm, but the underlying sarcasm stung Jack.
Jack's face darkened, his eyes blazing with anger.
He jerked away from Joshua's hand, "How dare you lecture me? You're just my son's servant; don't get ahead of yourself!"
Joshua stood still, his expression unchanged, seemingly unaffected by the insult.
Jack's anger only grew, and he turned to George with a sharper tone, "You idiot! Why did you take so long? Are you so bewitched by that tramp Emma that you don't care about my life?"
His words were filled with venom, as if blaming George for his ordeal.
George frowned, a hint of coldness in his eyes, but he didn't respond immediately.
Jack, more agitated, continued to rant, "Look at you! What have you become? The heir of the Russell family, seduced by a woman! Emma, that tramp, has bewitched you so much that you don't even care about your parents!"
His voice echoed in the room, grating on everyone's ears.
Phoenix stood by, her brows furrowed, clearly displeased with Jack's words.
George wasn't at fault! It must be that tramp Emma who kept George from coming!
Joshua remained calm, but his eyes held a hint of mockery, as if Jack's insults were directed at someone else.
Seeing no response, Jack grew even angrier and added, "Do you even see me as your father? Without me, you wouldn't have your status today! Now that you're grown, you don't care about my life! You've disappointed me completely!"
George finally spoke, "I don't want a father like you. The situation is resolved, calm down."
Jack was ungrateful, sneering, "Calm down? How can I calm down? If you hadn't come so late, I wouldn't have suffered this humiliation! You ungrateful bastard, raising you was a waste!"
Joshua couldn't stand seeing the domineering George being scolded like this and stepped forward to retort, "Mr. Jack Russell, if Mr. George Russell hadn't arrived in time, you..."
Joshua didn't finish, but everyone knew what would have happened if George hadn't come.
Jack turned abruptly, glaring at Joshua, furious, "Shut up! It's not your place to speak here! You're just a servant; how dare you boss around?"
Joshua smiled slightly, saying no more, but the mockery in his eyes grew more evident.
Jack's anger had no outlet, so he continued to curse.
His voice echoed in the room, grating on everyone's ears. But no one paid him any mind.
George gave him a cold glance, then turned to Phoenix, "Stay or leave, it's up to you."
Phoenix's heart skipped a beat at his words, her eyes filled with joy. George had never spoken to her so kindly when she was Phoenix.
She hadn't expected that wearing a human skin mask would make George take her away.
She was overjoyed!
She nodded eagerly, "Alright, let's go."
Her eyes were full of anticipation, her lips curling into a faint smile.
George had never seen such an expression on Scarlett's face; it made him doubt her true identity even more.
Joshua was equally shocked. Scarlett must be crazy.
Should a mother look at her son with such adoration?
No wonder Scarlett always disliked Emma. Could it be because she loved George?
No, no, he couldn't think further.
The wealthy families were terrifying!
As Joshua's thoughts ran wild, Jack suddenly reached out and grabbed Phoenix's wrist, "You can't leave! You're my wife, why should you go with him?"
His grip was strong, causing Phoenix pain.
Phoenix frowned, her eyes flashing with disgust, and she forcefully shook off his hand, her voice icy, "Let go of me!"
Jack's face turned livid, "Scarlett, don't forget your identity! You're my wife!"
Phoenix sneered, her eyes full of disdain, "Jack, don't flatter yourself. I've had enough of you. Old and ugly, always self-righteous. I'm with you only for George's sake. Do you think I really care about you?"
Her voice was sharp and cutting, each word like a knife to Jack's heart.
Jack's face grew darker, his eyes filled with malice, "Scarlett, don't push me! If you dare leave with him, I'll divorce you! Then you won't get a penny!"
Phoenix was unfazed, laughing coldly, "Divorce? Great, I can't wait! Do you think I care about your money? Being with you disgusts me!"
Jack shouted, "How dare you talk to me like that! You bitch!"
Phoenix ignored him, turning to George with a soft tone, "George, let's go."
As she linked her arm with George's, his arm stiffened, and Joshua's mind also froze.
Scarlett, there was something wrong!
