Chapter 186 Twins?

What exactly was Isabella to him?

Was she a substitute for Emma, or a completely new person?

He couldn't tell because Isabella and Emma were so alike. Although their statuses were different, their abilities were different, and even their attitudes towards him were completely different.

But he just felt they were the same person. They had the same eyes; the only difference was that one had feelings for him, and the other was indifferent.

Even if Isabella really was Emma, after experiencing all that pain, could the emotions in her eyes really remain unchanged?

Perhaps it was normal for her to become indifferent.

To this day, George still hadn't dispelled his doubts about Isabella's identity.

He had also searched a lot of information online. It was not unusual to encounter people who bore a striking resemblance to one another.

George knew Emma was the adopted daughter of Olivia and Jerry; Emma's only relative, Douglas, had already passed away.

So no one knew whether she was an only child or a twin. Perhaps Isabella was Emma's twin sister.

This was not impossible.

During this time, George had been staying in the hospital, even working from the hospital room. Joshua had moved the office to the hospital room to stay with George while he worked.

Under Joshua's persuasion, George finally got impatient and promised him he wouldn't do such dangerous things on his own in the future.

Actually, George being seriously injured and ending up in the hospital was his own fault. After hearing the news about Isabella's disappearance, he and the bodyguards split up to investigate. George was the first to find a clue and followed the trail, venturing into the abandoned building alone to rescue Isabella.

George had sent a message to his bodyguard captain, Lyle Warner while on his way, but for some reason, none of the bodyguards arrived.

In the end, fortunately, the fire brigade arrived in time and saved their lives.

Lyle was always very responsible in his work. Why did such a major mistake happen this time? Was it intentional sabotage? Or had he been bribed and was planning to betray George? A trace of ruthlessness flashed in Joshua's eyes. Anyone thinking of harming the Russell family in Lakeside Haven would have to get past him first.

After Joshua spoke with Lyle, they quickly arrived at the hospital ward.

Lyle felt the tense atmosphere as soon as he entered the ward. He endured George's sharp gaze, bowed his head slightly, and cold sweat appeared on his forehead. He knew that he had made a huge mistake this time, and this error could ruin his future in Lakeside Haven.

George, however, was much calmer than he had expected.

"Speak up, what happened? Where were you when it all went down?" Joshua also stared sternly at Lyle.

Lyle swallowed nervously. He hadn't received any SOS messages from George; the entire bodyguard team was following George's original instructions, searching for Isabella. In fact, the bodyguard team was the last to know that George had been injured and hospitalized. Strangely enough, no one had communicated in their work group that day, and all their contact methods seemed to have been blocked or blacked out.

Afterward, they discussed the incident together and found that everyone had spoken and exchanged information in the work group, but no one had received any replies from their colleagues. He suspected they had been targeted.

Joshua and George agreed with Lyle's conclusion. However, they were still unsure whether the force in the shady forces was targeting George specifically or the entire Russell Group.

If it was the former, they would need to investigate George's personal connections. If it was the latter, the problem would be much more complicated.

Perhaps someone felt that the Russell Group had obstructed their development, prompting them to want to eliminate the Russell Group. Could the Russell Group withstand such a powerful force?

George saw the intricate web of connections behind the incident. Although the bodyguard team hadn't rescued him, he couldn't blame them for that.

But he didn't want this kind of thing to happen again.

"Don't let this happen again."

"Yes, Mr. Russell." Lyle replied.

This matter seemed to be over, but the three of them knew it was far from resolved. Since they had no leads for now, they would investigate while preparing to face whatever came next.

After enhancing security, Scarlett also arrived, nearly driven mad by George's actions. Why did he have to play hero for Isabella? Now he was injured and in the hospital, causing her as his mother tremendous distress.

Scarlett stormed into the ward.

"George!" She quickly softened upon seeing George. "Are you okay?"

George turned his face slightly, a hint of impatience in his eyes. "I'm fine."

"You never let me worry less." Scarlett sat by the bed, her gaze full of concern. "I heard you got hurt because of that bitch Isabella? She's a jinx! Stay away from her in the future!"

George remained silent, using his silence to resist Scarlett's interference.

"George, listen to me. Isabella's background is complicated, and she's been involved with Michael. She's a bitch. Stay away from her," Scarlett urged. "You should be with Anna. She's the only suitable match for you.”

"How many times do I have to say it? Anna and I are over," George replied, closing his eyes to avoid looking at Scarlett.

"You!" Scarlett’s anger was ignited by George's attitude. "I'm your mother, and you must listen to me!"

"If you keep interfering, we can sever our relationship," George responded coldly.

"What did you say?" Scarlett initially didn’t understand his implied meaning. After a moment of shock, she slowly spoke, "You're willing to give up me for Isabella?"

Her eyes were filled with shock and disappointment. What kind of spell had Isabella cast on George to make him so devoted to her?

"George! How dare you defy me! I'm telling you, as long as I'm your mother, I won't allow Isabella to enter our family! You must marry Anna!"
