Chapter 1010 Do You Want Me or Bellamy?
"Even after 5 years of marriage, I'm still a virgin. That's my answer to your question."
Satisfied with her answer, Joseph's gaze became softer. As he looked as if he was bathed in the light, he said, "Rest then."
Without hesitation, Waverly climbed onto the bed with her back facing him.
Joseph stood still beside the bed.
He stood there for exactly ten minutes.
She had no idea the reason behind his actions and she chose to no longer look back at him as well.
Most of the time, curiosity killed the cat.
Turning around, Joseph went towards the door, turned off the lights, went out, and closed the door behind him.
Waverly sat up.
She was a little worried that Joseph would deploy some forces to harm Bellamy, so her heart was not at ease.
She got up from the bed and quietly cracked the door open. There were no guards outside, so she walked out.
Although she had been here a few times, she had always been led around by someone. She failed to know the purpose of each room she encountered.
Silently, she cracked the door of the room next door. It was dark inside, and there seemed to be no one inside. She went forward, closed the door, and turned on the light.
The room was exactly the same as the room she was living in, be it in design or decoration. There was nothing special about it.
Waverly left the room.
She checked several rooms in a row and each of them were the same.
She fumbled to the door of the study. With her ear to the door, she listened to the inside, but there was no sound at all.
If Joseph was inside, there would normally be someone guarding at the door. So, as of the moment, he was not inside.
The study was also his office, thus it might be filled with secrets.
She turned the door knob and pushed the door open. She saw Joseph sitting in front of his desk, typing. She was stunned for a moment. No sound or light had come through the door at all.
He looked at her and grinned. With his eyes still fixed on the computer, he said, "Didn't you say you were tired? What's wrong? You're looking a lot more refreshed once I left."
Waverly was fearful. It was as if she had been caught red-handed by her primary school teacher for trying to sneak out from school. As she was on high alert, she had goosebumps all over her body.
If he found out about her motives, her punishment would probably not be as simple as being put into a wolf's den.
It was not that she was afraid of death, but that she would lose her purity despite not doing anything particularly vicious.
"I can't sleep alone," Waverly said, feeling embarrassed.
Such words were quite unlike her character, so she lowered her gaze.
Joseph's hands paused, and a strange look of joy flashed in his eyes. Looking meaningfully at her, his dark eyes lit up under the bright light as he beckoned, "Come here."
Waverly knew that there was no way to retreat. So, she walked up to him and glanced at his computer screen.
She was doing something dangerous. If she were to see his secret, she was afraid that even if she could still live, according to his personality, she would probably lose her eyes.
She had just wanted to take a peek, yet she still failed to take her eyes off the screen.
The title of the letter was only one obviously large sentence: Eliminate Any Problems That Might Arise Later On.
Not only did he not shut the computer down, but he also turned around and adjusted the screen of the computer facing Waverly. He looked at her coldly and said, "Is this what you wanted to find in my study?"
Waverly did not answer his question as she was already so shocked by the contents of the document that she did not even dare to breathe. Panic flashed across her eyes as she exclaimed, "You want to use the chef competition to kill Bellamy!"
"If Bellamy dies in M Country, and Ronaldo was involved in the incident, the opportunity that I've been waiting for will arrive. After all, I've already put in so much effort to overthrow his government, so why can't I pull this move off this time?"
Waverly understood Joseph's words. Her eyes turned red, and she said anxiously, "You're waiting for a justifiable excuse. However, it cannot be Bellamy's death. You told me to choose between Yazoo and Bellamy, so I am choosing Bellamy."
Joseph's eyes gleamed with an even colder light, "You are the world's most heartless woman. Bernald's heart is still in Yazoo's body. You betrayed him once five years ago and he died for you. However, five years later, you are going to betray him again."
Waverly's heart ached.
Everything Bernald had done for her gradually became clearer and clearer in her blurry memory.
He was her childhood friend, the one who had protected her all the time to the point where he had died for her.
She had no idea how to face Bernald anymore in this life.
She felt sorry, guilty, remorseful, and sad.
However, what she wanted the most was to protect Bellamy.
That kind of stubbornness was carved deep into her bones. Without it, Waverly's life would be meaningless. She might as well give her life back to Bernald.
She stayed quiet, yet she was still determined.
Joseph laughed, but his eyes were void of any emotion, as if they had frozen over without a trace of warmth in his gaze. He said, "You've passed the time for you to choose. If you want to create such suspense next time, then you should barter with me."
"What do you want?" Waverly asked.
Joseph looked at her deeply, "I want you to follow me willingly from now on. Can you do that?"
She wasn't willing to, and it was impossible for her to follow him willingly. She gritted her teeth and said, "You're backing me into a dead end. You can control my actions, but you can't control my rationality and heart. It's not that I have control over every matter. If I could, I wouldn't want to fall in love with Bellamy either."
He threw the glass of water beside him onto the ground and stood up. No longer hiding his anger, "You finally admit that you love him."
Waverly looked up at him, "Forget it. Even if you let him go this time, you will still confront him in the future. I won't beg you. You can kill him if you want to. If we can't be together while we are alive, maybe we could be when we are dead."
"Even if you die, he still won't want you in the future. His soul will return to Stella's side!" Joseph bit his lips and walked straight out of the door.
She understood that theory.
It was just that love was too precious. Falling in love with a person was hard in the first place, so she could not expect for her love to be reciprocated.
She only wanted to give, but would not ask for anything in return. That way, she wouldn't feel sad.
She stood up and heard the sound of continuous gunshots. Her heart tightened and she ran outside.
Had he captured Yazoo and killed him already?
She ran outside, but she had no idea where to go. When she finally reached the gate, Yadriel, along with a few men, stopped her.
Their faces were incredibly pale as they stared at her expressionlessly, even more terrifying than the leader of the pack in the wolf's den.
"What happened just now? Where did the gunshots come from?" Waverly asked hurriedly.
"What does that have to do with you?" Yadriel asked coldly.
"Did you guys capture Yazoo? If you kill Spencer's son, he will never forgive you," Waverly said angrily.
"Don't worry, Madam. We didn't catch him."
Then, where did the gunshots come from?
