Waverly also felt sorry for him, and there was a slight pain somewhere in her heart.
She remembered the past memories of her being with Bernald. Those memories, along with Bernald's death, were engraved in her heart.
"I'm not afraid of death, but I don't want to die, either. Yazoo, we'll be fine," Waverly said emotionally.
Yazoo smiled.
When he smiled, he looked almost exactly the same as Bernald.
Waverly smiled as well.
Her cell phone rang, interrupting the atmosphere between the two of them.
Waverly looked at it. Joseph was calling her yet again.
He had sent multiple messages the whole night. It was starting to irritate her.
He was extremely annoying.
She really was reluctant to reply to him.
However, if she didn't answer his call, Joseph would definitely get angry again.
She answered the phone unwillingly with an unfriendly tone, "What's wrong?"
"What do you think is wrong?" Joseph asked coldly.
Waverly looked at Joseph, who was also staring at her coldly.
"Aren't you afraid of being discovered by Madam Lenny?" Waverly taunted, her eyes slightly red.
"So what? What do you think you can change?" Joseph said arrogantly and looked at the platform. "I think this royal young master really is stupid. What's the use of compromising and pleasing women? He looks like a good-for-nothing. Wouldn't killing his lover be more satisfying instead? If she acts up again in the future, he can just torture her again."
Waverly knew that he was hinting at her, "You haven't seen this movie, have you?"
"What?" Joseph frowned.
"Since this movie is set in a palace, do you really think that the royal young master will become a side character?" When Waverly was a child, she had accompanied Melinda to watch this movie.
"The royal young master likes this girl and treats her well in every way possible, but the girl took a fancy to a commoner instead."
"When the girl hurt the royal young master and eloped with the commoner, she realized that the commoner did not love her at all."
"This commoner was lazy, and he would get physical when he was drunk. He blamed the girl for all his misfortune and even sold her to a brothel."
"Fortunately, a friend of the royal young master found out about this and told him about it. She was then rescued by the royal young master. From then on, she fell in love with him. That's the story," Waverly looked at the screen as she smirked, teasing laced in her tone.
Joseph raised his eyebrows and a strange expression was on his face as he said, "This royal young master is still stupid. That girl slept with the commoner and even with other men in the brothel, but he still wants her? Is he trying to become the rebound?"
Waverly was rendered speechless.
"The way your brain works is so weird."
"Don't you think so? Do you wish for Bellamy to become a rebound as well?" Joseph laughed.
Joseph really could hurt her heart deeply every single time and destroy her reserved and calm façade instantly. She demanded, "What on earth are you calling me for?"
"Are you angry because you're too embarrassed?" Joseph said in a smug manner.
Waverly looked at him.
Joseph was calmly and leisurely watching the movie on the high platform.
Initially, Joseph had felt annoyed because no matter how he looked at it, he still abhorred the movie. He had an impulse to beat up the royal young master. However, after listening to Waverly, he suddenly had an epiphany and no longer felt the exasperation he had just now.
"You're so annoying," Waverly said.
Joseph pursed his lips and his eyes became icy again. He said, "Don't do something you will regret. I'm not warning you, but just informing you."
After saying that, Joseph hung up on the call.
Madam Lenny looked at Joseph and smiled as she said, "This movie is very famous. It's the cinematic quintessence of Country M. Have you watched it before?"
"Yes, I have," Joseph responded politely with a smile.
"Youngsters like you are no longer interested in old movies like these," Madam Lenny said with a gentle smile.
"Now that I'm watching it, the movie gives out a vintage feeling. It really is a classic that has lasted for many years. This movie really is worth preserving," Joseph went along with Madam Lenny and complimented the movie.
Growing even more elated, Madam Lenny said, "Yasmine mentioned that she wanted to move in with you, and I agreed. Do you know why?"
There was a trace of irritation in Joseph's eyes, but he hid it well. Instead, he smiled and said, "I would like to be enlightened."
"You've been with her for half a year. Yasmine told me that you've always been very polite to her because you've only held her hand and hugged her but have never gone further. I'm overjoyed to hear that. At the same time, I'm also a little worried. Don't you like Yasmine?" Madam Lenny asked in a soft voice.
Although she sounded gentle, there was a hidden meaning laced in her words, piercing through Joseph's conscience.
"Yasmine is incredibly strong. She is elegant like you had been when you were young, and she's also many boys' dream girl. After being with her, I found that she is soft-hearted and can also be lovable. She truly is full of surprises," Joseph said in an ambiguous way.

You are his dream and the biggest hope in the Mccarthy family. After interacting with you, you are even more outstanding than I imagined and have given me even more surprises. "I'll definitely take care of her," Joseph replied without even thinking. His gaze was resolute, not even trying to avoid her. Instead, he stared straight at Madam Lenny.
"You're a good man," Madam Lenny laughed as she looked towards the screen.
The atmosphere looked calm and as warm as the spring breeze, but his hands were stiff, just like his current position, which he had deliberately climbed up to.
Yasmine came over happily. She only looked at Joseph and sat intimately next to him, "I've checked everything. There should be no problems," she said.
From the corner of his eye, Joseph was observing Madam Lenny as he embraced Yasmine at her waist. He praised, "Excellent."
"Yasmine," Madam Lenny also looked at her. "I agreed to your request. After this, you can move in with Joseph, and you can also propose the schedule of your wedding. Remember, cherish your time together."
Yasmine was so ecstatic that she hugged Joseph even tighter, "Thank you, Mother. You're the best!"
"Heh," Madam Lenny looked at the high platform. She said softly, "Truth be told, I also think that this royal young master is quite stupid. He's just a concubine's son and likes a commoner. Joseph curled his lips and he looked at the high platform, his eyes getting icier.
His hands subconsciously let go of Yasmine.
Only when he was powerful enough could he act as he pleased and marry the person he wanted. By then, he could do whatever he wanted, change his life in his own way, surpass everyone else, and accomplish whatever he wanted!
