Chapter 1094 Have You Gone Mute?
"However, I won't be killing innocent girls. There's no way a little girl could be your enemy. Even if she was your enemy's child, she's still innocent. If you want me to kill a little girl, then you can find someone else. I don't want to do that," Boris replied firmly.
Waverly looked at Boris with strange emotions in her eyes, including sympathy, pity, confusion, and admiration.
"Why do people who are kind, righteous, virtuous, brave, and principled end up so miserable?" Waverly asked, her eyes slightly red.
She knew what had happened to Boris.
He had been righteous and passionate from the very beginning, and he wanted to serve his country. Yet, step by step, he had always been on the verge of life and death, painfully losing his lover and child.
It wasn't easy for him to find love again, yet his girlfriend ended up comatose because of him.
He should be in a lot of pain and self-hate!
He even had to become an assassin.
She felt a faint ache in her heart, not only because she pitied his experiences, but also because his story hit her hard.
"At least, I've never regretted a single decision of mine," Boris said.
Waverly replied with a smile, "Don't you want to ask me what I want you to do?"
"What do you want me to do?" Boris asked.
"I want you to do many things, like taking revenge and protecting people. To advance to a higher position, I have to step on the bodies of people to get there. Of course, if I'm not good enough, I'll become a corpse that gets stepped on. After I get to a higher position, only will I get to have the final say and the right to make decisions. The people today live hard lives, so hard that you can't even breathe. If you follow me, your current life won't get any better, but I'll give you five million dollars first."
"That's enough for me, I will follow you. I already believed that you're not evil when you asked me whether I would kill innocent girls or not. There are no innocent people in the eyes of the truly evil, only the enemies and themselves," Boris said.
"I might be going back tomorrow. Should I give you some time to say goodbye to your friends?" Waverly asked.
"No need. My girlfriend isn't here. I came here with the determination to die too," Boris said.
Waverly felt even sadder. She said, "You survived a great disaster. As long as you are still alive, your girlfriend will wake up. You will be free after a year. As long as you're still alive by then, there is still hope for you, and for her."
"Thank you, then I will leave first. When the time comes, Welch will give me your contact information," Boris said, nodding and walking towards the door.
Waverly looked at his back and said softly, "I am Bellamy's ex-wife, Waverly."
Boris paused, turning around to look at her.
Waverly smiled as she said, "I've decided to buy you, so you'll find out my true identity eventually. Let me give you some time to process this. It is fate that we've met."
Boris nodded, walking out of the room.
Waverly liked his character. He wouldn't ask anything that shouldn't be asked and only did as he was told. Moreover, he still kept his conscience and morals, no matter how hard his circumstances were.
After he left, Welch came in, asking with a smile, "What do you think of him?"
"He fulfills all my requirements. Have the other two girls come?" Waverly asked.
"Alice came here first. Agnes said that she would take her an hour, so you might have to wait for her. However, if you want Alice, then I'll stop her from coming," Welch said.
"Let's meet Alice first," Waverly said.
Welch went out and called Alice in, but he didn't go in himself.
Alice was pretty. Her maroon-colored hair was slightly curled and she had skin as pale as snow, big eyes. Red and moist lips were on a delicate face and she had a perfect figure, many men's ideal figure.
She could tell that Alice was quite confident about her appearance. She had indeed been a concubine before as even the ordinary black dress on her body showed her elegance.
Waverly showed a smile and said, "You are really beautiful."
"Beauty is a weapon. It can be used to kill people, and it can be used to save people too. I'm an intelligence agent. You can let me out, and you won't have to keep me by your side. I will find all the information you need," Alice said confidently.
"If I ask you to seduce a man, what are the chances that you can make him fall in love with you?" Waverly asked.
"A hundred percent, as I have a deep understanding of a man's psyche. If you want to capture their hearts, to make them helpless, or make them loyal to you, I can help you with that."
Waverly laughed and replied, "If so, why is Selanton's prince hunting you down? Do you know the reason?"
"It's because he is fueled with hate which stemmed from his love. He hates me as much as he loves me. I had no choice. I worked for the intelligence department, and I had my orders," Alice said.
"If I asked you to kill an innocent little girl, would you do it?" Waverly asked.
Alice smiled and said, "An innocent little girl wouldn't even have the strength to fight back. You wouldn't need my help."
"Your emotional intelligence is quite high. You know how to skillfully dodge a question, but don't play tricks in front of me. Let me ask you again. If I ask you to kill an innocent little girl, would you do it?'" Waverly asked coldly.
"Of course, because that would be my mission," Alice's face turned cold as she replied firmly.
Waverly nodded and asked, "How old is your mother? What sickness does she have?"
"I have three mothers, my adoptive mother, my biological mother, and my stepmother. My biological mother has Alzheimer's disease, my adoptive mother has AIDS, and my step mother is paralyzed. I can't stay by their side to take care of them. Even if I could, I wouldn't have the energy to do so."
"With your emotional intelligence and appearance, it shouldn't be a problem for you to ask for three million dollars when hooking up with a rich man, right?" Waverly asked again.
"I don't have a good reputation in the circle, and they don't want to offend the prince of Selanton."
"Then, what's the use of me hiring you?" Waverly asked doubtfully.
"I can teach you some tricks, and I can help you train other girls to send them out. One year is enough."
"I'll think about it," Waverly pondered.
"If you hire me, you definitely won't be disappointed," Alice said with certainty.
"I'm afraid that you'll be disappointed. I heard that if I die and you don't, that would be considered a dereliction of your duty, and Welch will send a skilled killer after you. My circumstances are extremely dangerous and the chances of dying are incredibly high. You have decided to hide behind the scenes, so are you sure you want to stay with me and die with me?" Waverly asked in return.
Alice paused, her expression a little strange. She asked, "You're not just hiring a single person, aren't you?"
"I'm hiring two, but let me be frank. Even if I hired one hundred people, it wouldn't be of any use. The amount of manpower they have is more than Selanton's prince's troops."
"Then, I may not be suitable for this. I'm sorry," Alice refused directly.
Waverly smiled and said, "It's alright. You also have the right to choose."
"Then, I'll take my leave."
Waverly nodded.
Then, she received a phone call from Joseph.
Waverly hesitated before answering.
"Have you finished?" Joseph asked in a rude tone.
Waverly paused, staying silent.
"Have you gone mute?" Joseph's tone became even worse.
She continued to stay silent.
"What do you need your mouth for if you're not going to talk? Just to vent your anger? Believe me or not, you won't be able to see the light of day tomorrow if you do that."
