Chapter 883 Let's Get Married For Real
She did not feel pain at all when she was angry. However, somehow it hurt so much more after she calmed down.
People tend to pay the price for actions done on impulse. If they could not bear to hurt others, then they would only hurt themselves in the end.
She took out the first aid kit from the cupboard, cleaned her wound, applied some medicine, and bandaged it well.
Her hand was still hurting. She felt sorry for hurting herself. She fell silent as she leaned on her elbow, her head resting on her hand, wanting to just drift off.
There was a knock on the door again.
She looked at the door. She had confessed to him just now but he had rejected her. It was too embarrassing and she did not want to face him at all, "I'm not hungry, you can eat first."
"Come out and eat a little. You might get gastric if you starve yourself," Bellamy said calmly.
Waverly sighed and hesitated for a minute, then got up and opened the door.
Bellamy was still standing at the door. When he saw her coming out of her room, he turned around and walked to the dining table.
Waverly did not utter a word. She just followed him, sat down opposite of him, and started eating.
Their eyes met, and he asked, "Waverly, how old are you this year?"
"Twenty-six, why?" Waverly replied and looked at Bellamy coldly.
"I'll ask them to amend your ID card so that it says you're 21 years old. A younger girl will have more opportunities," Bellamy stated.
"Thank you."
"I remember you wanted to be a comic artist in the past. I will send you to study the respective field, and find you a related job after that..."
"Alright, that's enough," Waverly interrupted him and put down her spoon, "I can learn to be a comic artist by myself. As long as I could produce a spectacular result, no one would care about my educational background. As long as I have the ability, I would be able to find a job. I prefer to work for what I want, instead of accepting what others give me."
"Alright then," Bellamy replied politely.
"Do you still remember how we first met?" Waverly asked.
"I remember," Bellamy replied simply.
At that time, her father had just passed away and she found out about the relationship between Lenold and her Aunt Qianna. Feeling heartbroken, she jumped into the river, not because she wanted to commit suicide. She was a good swimmer. She just wanted to cleanse the negativity out of her body.
Bernald did not know that she was just venting her emotions. He thought that she wanted to commit suicide, so he jumped straight into the river to save her without any hesitation.
In the end, it was Bernald who was on the verge of death and she had to rescue him.
She went to borrow money from Lenold because she did not have any. However, Lenold did not lend it to her and even tarnished the relationship between her and Bernald. So, she went to borrow money from the Mccarthy family, but no one from the Mccarthy family was willing to lend it to her.
Bellamy came and gave her the money, but it was too late. Bernald had passed away in the hospital.
She blamed herself for Bernald's death and she questioned herself for knowing Lenold.
Aunt Qianna was cruel too. She poured Bernald's ashes into the river and caused Waverly to become devastated all the more. She then jumped into the river.
However, she could not find Bernald's ashes. She forgot that she could swim. She forgot how fast the river was flowing after it rained. Just when she was about to drown, Bellamy came to her rescue.
He said that he was the President of A Country. He could help her return to the Mccarthy family and make her the wife of the President of A Country.
She did not want to go back to the Mccarthy family. That family had brought her too many bad memories. She agreed to Bellamy's suggestion as she wanted to leave M Country, vent her anger, and take her revenge on Lenold.
"I often think to myself, what would happen if I didn't meet you?" Waverly said to Bellamy.
"You are a straightforward person. You love selflessly and hate evil with all your heart. You are smart, a strong learner, willing to endure hardships, and willing to work hard. Although you are not rich, you live a carefree life. I'm sorry that I had kept you locked from your freedom for so long," Bellamy said solemnly.
Waverly took a deep breath and felt the urge to cry again. She had shed too many tears that day.
She should have hated him but in the end...
Bellamy had spent his whole life protecting Stella. Waverly swore that she would use the last bit of strength in her to protect him.
Otherwise, how pathetic it would be for him to give love but not receive any in return.
"You didn't restrict me from my freedom. On the contrary, you helped me," Waverly's tone softened and she continued, "If I hadn't met you, even if I'm alive, I would be suffering from my past. The Mccarthy family would definitely make my life miserable just because Lenold was my ex-boyfriend."
Bellamy was silent for three seconds before saying, "The video may have caused you a lot of harm. I will arrange for you to undergo microplastic surgery to change the features of your eyes and nose. If you want, I will arrange for you to do a hematopoietic stem cell surgery too. This surgery will change your DNA. Then, no one will recognize you and if they do, all you need to do is deny it."
"I don't want to do any surgeries because I don't want to escape my past. These can't hurt me at all. Take good care of yourself in the future. Also, you don't have to feel sorry. If I hadn't met you, my life would be more miserable. Everything I have now is more than I could ever asked for," Waverly said gratefully.
She then picked up her spoon and started eating again.
Bellamy wanted to say something but he paused on the second thought. In the end, he did not say anything.
After the meal, Waverly went to the garden alone and sat on the bench by the lake.
She stayed there until night fell.
The night wind was so chilly that it could penetrate Waverly's thick cotton-padded jacket. However, the cold helped her clear her mind.
She sat by the lake and looked at the surface of the water. The water rippled and sparkled as the wind blew.
"Waverly, you've done the right thing." she cheered herself up. She recalled there was once a girl who was interested in Bellamy but he had always treated her as his little sister. In the end, he matched her with a man who was interested in her.
To him, she was just like his younger sister. She could not expect too much from him after he had shown her kindness, and she definitely would not force herself on him. Being ungrateful was not her life principle.
She got up and went back to the villa. However, Bellamy was not around.
He was probably busier as he had more things to deal with after the scandal erupted.
Dinner was ready. While she was eating, she heard the car arriving at the entrance of the villa. Waverly lifted her head and gazed at the door subconsciously.
Bellamy walked in from outside and took off his gloves.
She naturally went up to him, took his coat, and hung it on the hanger, "Are you hungry?"
Bellamy raised a smile and said, "I'll never let myself go hungry. I had some snacks just now."
"Do you want to eat together then? You'll get gastric if you starve yourself," Waverly repeated what he said to her previously.
"You are a fast learner. Very well, I'll eat a little," Bellamy said.
Waverly's nose itched, so she moved aside and sneezed twice. Then, she took a napkin from the coffee table and wiped her slightly runny nose.
"How did you catch a cold? Marie, prepare some brown sugar ginger tea and cold medicine for Madam," Bellamy instructed. He looked at Waverly and said, "It's winter now. Put on a few more layers of clothing when you go out. Don't stay outside in the cold for too long."
Seeing his concern for her, Waverly's heart was ignited with hope again, "Bell, are you really not going to fulfill my wish?"
