Chapter 954 He...Knows Everything...
It was basically impossible to make Joseph fall in love with her.
He was a heartless man. He was cold-blooded, merciless, bloodthirsty, and murderous.
She would never waver his heart even if she did everything she could.
Moreover, she was foolish in love. Otherwise, she wouldn't be waiting for an unrequited love for this long.
"How would you suggest I do so? Give me a trick or two so that I can do my research once I get back," Waverly smiled, but her gaze was cold as ever.
"For example..." He raised her chin and fixed his gaze on her as he teased, "Please me."
She pursed her lips.
"Or, make me happy. Or you can even do the things I want you to do," he smirked.
She sneered and pulled his hand away from her, "There are so many women out there who will please you and make you happy. They will all be willing to do everything you want. Did you fall for all of them?"
He held her in his arms and said, "Why don't you try it? Maybe it'll be different for you."
Waverly wanted to get away from him. She was not used to being in his arms.
Joseph didn't allow that. Instead, he kept her in his arms and didn't move an inch.
Her strength could not be on par with his, so she dropped her gaze. He approached closer and closer to her, before locking his lips with hers.
She frowned.
She was no different from the other women out there, except that she used to be the First Lady and that she grew up with Joseph. She had a rivalry with him, but that was all. She was not young anymore, and although she still looked beautiful, she was not on par with Stella's beauty. She was not someone whom Joseph had to claim as his.
It was out of his despicable nature to like the feeling of conquering an enemy of his.
He wanted to conquer her.
He forced himself on her, even when she resisted.
The more she resisted, the more he wanted her; it was a great annoyance to Waverly.
He was someone who liked the feeling of pushing someone to the edge until that someone started to beg him for mercy.
She gritted her teeth as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
His eyes sparkled as he let her go and asked in a hoarse voice, "You finally want me now?"
Waverly smirked and responded, "Don't you think too lowly of a woman if you think I want you by doing this? Now that we've kissed enough, let me rest for a while. I think I caught a cold. My head aches."
"Then let's carry on with the kiss until I reach the point you desire the most," Joseph flirted and leaned closer to her.
She was irritated and pushed him away.
With a bang, a bullet hit the car window.
The bullet didn't get in through the bulletproof glass.
He looked around and smiled conceitedly at the sight of a motorcycle rushing out wildly.
"You're keeping someone bold with you," he sounded certain.
"Hayley?" Waverly looked out of the window. She did not see Hayley. She frowned and questioned, "Are you saying that she was the one who pulled the gun?"
"I don't want to go to the hot spring anymore. Let's head to your place," Joseph smiled, but a murderous intent appeared in his gaze.
Waverly had a bad feeling. She held his arm and defended, "She's just a kid whom I bought over to protect me. If you want to get to her, you must go through me first."
"A kid? Stop fooling me. She's Bellamy's subordinate," he scoffed.
She paused and shook her head, "No, she's not Bellamy's subordinate. I got her from a friend of mine, and they would never have a partnership with Bellamy."
"Really? Is that so? I'll ask her when I get to your place. You look cold on the outside, but you're too kind to others. That's why you're always the abandoned one. Bellamy would never give up on Stella, even if it means for him to let go of being the President. He will fight to keep Stella by his side, just like how Jasper did." Joseph grinned.
Every word of his shot through her heart.
Waverly clenched her fist and sat up, "I'll be the one to ask Hayley if she's working for Bellamy. I'll give you an explanation if she was the one who shot you just now."
"Explanation? How? Will you give up your life over this or break a finger?" He interrogated with a cold tone.
"If Hayley was the one who shot you, I would break my own finger, and I mean my words," she remarked with certainty.
He held her hand in his and retorted, "What do I need your finger for? I can't even chew on it. Why don't you carve my name on your body instead?"
She frowned. If she refused, Joseph would definitely rip Hayley into pieces judging from his character.
Hayley was probably worried about her safety, and that's why she pulled the gunshot earlier. What a silly child.
"I'll do it."
Joseph pointed at her left chest and commanded with a heavy tone, "Carve it here."
She felt embarrassed. But then, if Hayley really wasn't working for Bellamy, just by how protective Hayley was of herself, Waverly could never sit out of this. It was just a few words on her body. She then agreed, "Sure."
Joseph smiled and instructed the driver, "Let's go to the hot spring."
They arrived at the hot springs. The temperature was maintained at 28 degrees Celsius, which was warm enough.
She soaked herself in the hot springs as her thoughts were running wild.
If Hayley was the one who pulled the gunshot, she must be waiting for Waverly to be back home, greatly worried.
She picked up her phone and called her.
"Madam, are you alright?" Hayley queried worriedly.
"I'm fine. Hayley, I have a few questions for you. You must answer me honestly. If you lie to me, you don't get to stay with me anymore," Waverly warned her first.
"Madam, is something wrong?" She sounded even more anxious.
"Did you pull that shot at Joseph's car?" She was straightforward.
Hayley was shocked to hear this, "Madam, how did you know it was me? I was wearing a helmet."
Waverly's heart skipped a beat. How did Joseph know it was Hayley!!!
"Have you been following me?" She pried further.
"Yes. You left with them, and I was worried, so I followed behind on my bike. Joseph's men were all around, and I couldn't get nearer to you. I saw him forcing himself on you in the car. Then, I decided to pull the gun at the car. It wouldn't harm anyone, but it was enough to cause a distraction. I left immediately so that they wouldn't catch me either," Hayley admitted honestly.
Waverly's face fell as she asked another question, "Are you working for Bellamy?"
Hayley let out a cry of surprise.
She did not say anything. In fact, if Joseph decided to tell this to her, he must have already known what was going on.
There was no need for Joseph to lie to her about this.
"Can Bellamy also get through the surveillance system you installed in my room?" Waverly grilled her further, but her tone was still gentle although her emotions were wild through her gaze.
Bellamy would find out about her relationship with Joseph sooner or later.
She didn't want to hide anything from him, but if he saw the clips through the surveillance system, she would feel embarrassed and ashamed.
