Chapter 827 What The Hell Are You Up To!

"I'm debating it in my mind," Stella said softly.
"Hm?" Jasper glanced at her. His gaze was soft, full of love and care.
"Adequate worry will allow a country to become more advanced, but too much worry could cause peril. If a country has no internal or external issues, a leader would not want to work hard. He would become complacent, and not make progress. So it's not a bad thing for Bellamy to be experiencing all this, right?" Stella said.
"Yes," Jasper replied.
"It's the same for relationships. Only through experience can a relationship become stronger. If Eli and Sean can't get through this, then they will separate. Without these experiences, they would not be able to last through other issues that might pop up in the future. However, if they can get through this and strengthen their relationship, then they will come out of this cherishing and understanding each other more."
"When it comes to relationships, even parents can't control them, let alone friends. You can give some advice, but the decision remains with them. That's all you can do," Jasper knew that Stella couldn't let go of her worries, so he tried to comfort her.
"I understand the theory. From a woman's point of view, I pity Sean. He must really like Eli," Stella sighed.
"The most important thing is what Eli feels."
They arrived at the military base soon after. "What do you want to have for breakfast tomorrow morning? I'll cook."
"You still have boxing practice in the morning. There's no need to trouble yourself. The cafeteria has plenty of food. Tomorrow, I'll get someone to bring you breakfast. For lunch, I want a pork chop and Sandro wants an omelet. As for the rest, it's up to you," Jasper said seriously.
Stella was used to his way of speaking. "Have you had dinner?"
Jasper stopped talking.
Stella could tell what that meant. "You haven't had dinner yet."
"I had to finish off some work before I could eat," Jasper explained.
"That's not good. You have to eat on time, or it'll be bad for your stomach. Your health should be your top priority. Once you're back, have something to eat first before you start working. Sleep before midnight. You should get at least six hours of sleep."
"Okay," Jasper replied. The corners of his mouth were slightly lifted. It was nice to be nagged by her. It felt like they were an old couple.
Their days were plain but fulfilling.
The job that Jasper had arranged for her was really chill. The people of A Country wouldn't see a psychologist unless the situation was really bad. Therefore, she stayed there for the whole afternoon without a single patient.
Jasper received a call in the middle of the night and he got up to answer it. Stella too was awakened by the noise.
Something must have happened since, whoever it was, was calling this late at night.
She also got up and opened the door. She looked at Jasper worriedly.
He hung up the phone and said to Stella, "Sean has been released. He is now in the base, where I used to get treated. He wants to see you."
"Should I go now?" Stella asked. She did not remember where Jasper had gotten treated.
"I'll accompany you. Give me half an hour while I make some arrangements. Remember to layer up. It's cold at night," Jasper instructed before he went out to make a call.
Stella's mind was blank. She hadn't told Sean about Eli's marriage. She had no idea how to bring it up, but she had to face it eventually.
Jasper arranged for Elvis to drive them half an hour after.
"It will take about two hours to get there. You can sleep for a while," Jasper said softly.
Stella leaned against Jasper's shoulder and closed her eyes. However, she just could not seem to fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. Her mind was in turmoil. She had a bad feeling about what was going to happen.
"Jasper, do you think Sean will be mad if he finds out Eli is married?" Stella asked.
"Let things take their courses. We just need to do what we have to do. We will do everything we can to protect him. After all, he has taken the risk for our sake," Jasper said in a low voice.
"Okay." Stella pondered.
She should do something too, she didn't want to let Jasper carry all the burden. Jasper went to bed at midnight the night before. The clock showed that it was 3 a.m. That meant that he had only slept for 3 hours.
"Jasper, I'm not sleepy. I slept early, and I've had 6 hours of sleep. That's enough for me. You should sleep for a while. I'll wake you up when we arrive," Stella said as she straightened herself up.
Jasper did not speak as he closed his eyes.
Stella let her thoughts run wild. Two hours later, they entered the base. Jasper woke up and opened his eyes.
Stella looked at him and smiled slightly.
He held her hand. "Let's take things one step at a time."
"Okay."
They entered the base and Jasper waited outside. Elvis guided Stella over to where Sean was.
He was waiting anxiously, but it was obvious that he was in a good mood. He smiled brightly and asked as soon as they met, "Where's Eli? You have her contact number, don't you?"
Stella nodded. She wanted to speak but she stopped on second thought. She was so worried that Sean wouldn't be able to handle what she was about to tell him.
Sean sensed that something was off from her expression. "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Sean, there's something I need to tell you. Um, Eli, she is married," Stella stuttered.
Sean's smile froze and his gaze was fixated on Stella. As he examined her, his eyes gradually turned cold. However, there was still a shred of hope in his eyes. He asked again, "Are you telling the truth?"
"She married Haward," Stella said again.
Sean's gaze turned calm, but in the end, he still couldn't hold it in. He stumbled back two steps and his eyes flickered. He was panicking and he couldn't comprehend what Stella had just said. Or rather, he didn't want to believe her.
Sean had turned into a completely different man compared to how elegant he was in lock up.
What usually makes people collapse was not the environment, but one's state of mind. There were many people who thrived in stressful environments. However, if their state of mind collapsed, they would be like a depressed person. They wouldn't be able to see what they had. All they would think was that tomorrow would not be better. Moreover, they would not listen to anyone's advice. They would live their life like walking corpses.
"I think she has her reasons," Stella added, trying to comfort him.
Sean slowly looked at Stella. His face was pale and his eyes were bloodshot. In his eyes, Stella could see something sinister brewing. "Do you have her phone number?"
"Yes, I'll call her now and you can talk to her personally," Stella still hoped that Sean could be with Eli. She took out her mobile phone and dialed Eli's number.
"I'm sorry, but the number you have dialed is not in service," A cold machine-like voice could be heard on the phone.
Stella checked the phone number she had dialed. She was sure that it was the same number she had called previously so she tried again.
"Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service," Once again, the cold machine-like voice could be heard.
Even Stella was no longer calm. What the hell was Eli up to!
Was she not planning to contact her either? How could she disappear without any explanation?
