Chapter 926 Come Over And Sit
Waverly brushed her hair from the side of her face, and she looked charming. She looked at Hayley with her misty eyes and said firmly, "Lenold is not stupid. He knows what others want to hear, but he is not telling the truth. Even if it is about Bellamy, how could he possibly know? Tell him that I'm not interested, and I want to rest. Let him go back and rest. When I am free, I will contact him."
Hayley frowned and did not understand, "Why should you contact him? He has inexplicable feelings for you. I can see it."
Waverly gave a faint smile and said simply with slight self-mockery, "Because he is of value."
"What do you mean?"
"A friend once told me, the more benefits are at stake, the closer the relationship you are to the person. This is human nature. The salesmen reach out because they want to sell something to a leader. If a leader gets transferred to an unimportant position, how many salesmen will still contact him?" Waverly said softly.
The friend she was talking about was Bellamy.
"What you need to do is to squeeze every ounce of the person as you can. You also need to leave something for others to use," Waverly continued.
Hayley still couldn't understand. "Okay. Madam, you are a wise person. I'm going out now to reject that jerk."
Hayley went out. Waverly reclined on the bed and looked out of the window.
It was not a good day. It looked gloomy as if it was going to rain.
She closed her eyes and decided to settle everything after a nap.
After some time, she could faintly hear some noises coming from the outside. She didn't want to wake up, so she turned over and went back to sleep.
"Are you planning to sleep through the night?" Joseph's mocking voice could be heard.
She suddenly woke up, opened her eyes, and looked at Joseph.
She instructed Hayley not to let anyone in, "How did you get in?"
"Your maid is very good at martial arts, but she is simple-minded. I had someone cause some trouble, so she foolishly chased after her," Joseph explained.
Waverly covered the quilt and sat up, "Well, she is still an adolescent."
"When you were in your adolescence, you already gave my parents a headache," Joseph sat down on her bed.
"Really? Your parents must have hated me very much then. Joseph, I'm thirsty. Could you get some water for me, please?" Waverly wanted to get rid of him.
The corner of his mouth curled up. He lowered his head and kissed her on the lips.
Waverly was shocked and she stepped back, "What are you doing? Are you taking advantage of me?"
"Didn't you say that you were thirsty? How much do you want to take in?" Joseph said sinisterly.
Disgusted by his suggestive word, Waverly got up from her bed hurriedly.
With his hands around her waist and locking her in his arms, Joseph said in a hoarse voice, "I'll sleep with you tonight."
Waverly's back stiffened, "I remember saying that I will give you an answer in three months."
"I know what your answer will be in three months. Do you think that I want to know?" Joseph examined Waverly's eyes.
Waverly looked at him and tried to calm herself down. She was suppressing her true feelings, hoping that he wouldn't see through her.
She didn't want to give in to him three months later. What she wanted was to destroy him and their conspiracy.
"Then tell me, what my answer will be in three months?" Waverly retorted.
Joseph touched her nose and said, "Darling, do you really think that I don't know what you're up to? Do you think that I don't know the purpose of getting Qianna and Lenold together? If you want to play, I'll play with you then. But what should I do if you go too far? I may not be patient enough to wait for you to set a fire."
The corners of Waverly's mouth curled up, "So, are you not confident enough, or are you unsure that you could beat me?"
Joseph spun her around in his arms and pressed her down on the bed. He locked her arms above her head, his smile evil and sinister. "If your mask is gone, will Qianna still believe that you and Lenold are innocent?"
Waverly's back stiffened, "You have people spying on me? Let me think, no. If you had, you would have known that someone almost killed me yesterday. Do you have eyes on my aunt?"
"Qianna has to marry Beckham," he said coldly, his lips curling into a smile. "No one will be able to stop me, including you."
Waverly saw the sharpness in his eyes, a blade that could cut her into pieces.
She realized the danger and shouted at the door, "Hay..."
However, Joseph kissed her before her voice fell.
She pursed her lips and struggled desperately with her eyes locked on the door.
She didn't want to give in to Joseph. He was a demon, cold-blooded and cruel. He was scheming and murderous.
......
Waverly heard the sound of clothes being torn, the blood in her body condensed.
No, she couldn't resist. She couldn't resist at all. Knowing Joseph, he would only want more if she were to resist.
She had to remain calm. Bellamy once taught her that in crucial times, the more she had to remain rational. This was because only rationality could save her. Panic, worry, and struggle would not end well.
"Have you made up your mind?" Waverly said, "Don't forget that I was the wife of the President of A Country and a wh*re to the world. Being with me will only bring you down."
"Bring me down?" Joseph looked up at her and pinched her face, "You attract me, and I couldn't control myself. Perhaps I was blinded by lust and thus, became a scum. Who would know what goes on between us? Who would even believe you if you tell? Do you think that you have the evidence?"
Joseph's words sank her heart deeper, and her future turning darker.
She was a tool to Joseph. No, he had a lot of tools. He was torturing her and her consciousness, mistreating her.
Rather than saying that he was impudent to her, it was better to say that he hated her.
What he wanted was not to possess her but destroy her.
However, Joseph seemed to have underestimated her. She had nothing, and the only thing she had was faith.
For the sake of faith, she could give up anything.
She put her hands on Joseph and said, "Thank you for bringing me to your world; ruthlessness, darkness, deceit, manipulation, loneliness, and vitality. No one loves you. Just as no one loves me, we are all cold people, counting on each other for warmth."
Joseph looked at her with unfathomable eyes. He pulled the corners of his mouth and lay down beside her, almost like a king, "Come over and sit."
