Chapter 932 I Want You To Die
"You've been soaking for more than an hour. You might get lightheaded if you were to stay in the water any longer," Joseph said.
She was already suffocating, and her chest felt stuffy.
"My clothes are still in the pool. Get them for me," Waverly frowned and said.
"You can't wear those clothes anymore. I'll get someone to bring you new clothes," Joseph murmured.
"Well, I would still have to wear something before going out, yes?" Waverly was embarrassed.
Joseph walked to the door and put her down.
There were white bath towels in the glass cabinet. Joseph took one and wrapped it around his waist. Then, he stared at her.
Waverly turned around and took two bath towels to cover her body.
She was not used to being naked in front of Joseph, nor did she like it. She wrapped herself up and said, "I could walk by myself. I don't need you to hold me."
"I take back what I said before," Joseph looked at her with a burning gaze.
"What?" Waverly frowned.
Joseph smirked, "You're physically decent."
"B*stard," Waverly was about to slap him again but Joseph grabbed her hand quick, "Men who are not b*stards are abnormal. Have you not heard of that?
Waverly could not be bothered to talk to him anymore and went out.
It was much cooler outside, and the air was fresher. Her mind cleared up and she ought to find a chance to call Bellamy. She should at least give him a heads-up no matter whether the news was true.
However, she was too embarrassed to face Bellamy after everything that happened between her and Joseph. She felt an inexplicable sense of guilt.
She felt a sudden surge of warmth on her shoulder as a black coat was placed on her.
Waverly turned her head. Joseph was wearing a coat that looked exactly like hers. He looked at her with a faint smile, "Hm? Are you thinking of a way to let Bellamy know?"
Waverly hated Joseph. He seemed to be able to figure everything out. She could never hide anything from him.
"Are my thoughts important? It's obvious that your opinion is much more important," Waverly glared at him and spat.
"Call him. I'll allow it," Joseph said indifferently.
Waverly was puzzled. She was worried it was yet another trap. Joseph had always been inscrutable. There would always be agendas behind the kind gestures from him. What seemed good may turn out to be ten times worse.
Waverly became even more apprehensive now that Joseph had given her the permission to call Bellamy.
"Aren't you worried that the terrorists would come after you if they knew that you leaked the news?" Waverly asked suspiciously.
"The first person they'll come after is you. What's there to be afraid of?" Joseph said nonchalantly.
"Did you really sell weapons to those terrorists?" Waverly asked.
"M Country is a neutral country. We're running a business. If they afford it, I will sell it to them," Joseph replied.
"Does Uncle Thomson know about this?"
"The Mccarthys has two divisions. Uncle Thomson manages one division while I manage the other. The elders of the Mccarthys know that I put profits above anything. What's the matter? Are you planning to use him to pressure me?" Joseph smiled and looked at Waverly cynically, "Do you need my mobile phone to call Bellamy?"
Waverly believed in Bellamy's ability. He was a successful general before he became the President. Even when he became President, the only weakness he had was her scandal.
However, she did not want him to take any risk.
"I have my own phone," Waverly returned to the locker room, changed into her own clothes, and called Bellamy.
Bellamy answered the phone almost immediately.
"Waverly, are you alright?" Bellamy asked.
Listening to his firm and gentle voice, her heart tightened.
"Waverly," Bellamy shouted worriedly.
Waverly came to her senses. "I'm fine. Are you going to Z Country tomorrow?"
"Yes, I have some matters to attend to. Why?"
"I heard that terrorists have bought weapons from the Mccarthys and they are going to ambush you."
"I know. I've arrested those people and confiscated their weapons," Bellamy said.
"Oh?" Waverly's heart jolted. She saw Joseph standing next to her at the corner of her eye.
Joseph looked at her meaningfully and smirked as if he knew everything that was going on.
Waverly finally understood. He had deliberately told her an outdated piece of news to test her.
She returned the smirk and said to Bellamy in front of Joseph, "Be careful. I heard that Joseph took a video of me. He is colluding with Beckham. You should take care of yourself."
Waverly then hung up.
"Are you not loyal to me?" Joseph asked insidiously. He leaned against the box, and his eyes were locked on Waverly.
"Isn't it obvious? If you hadn't tricked me, I would have still been Mrs. President. Give me a reason for me to not hate you. Are you expecting me to love you after all you have done?" Waverly looked straight into his eyes boldly.
Joseph sneered and said, "Yet, that Mrs. President had never slept with her husband for the past five years. What's so great about it?"
"You scheme for status. Are you going to tell me that you married Madam Lenny's daughter and became President because you loved her? You and I know that you did it to become king!" Waverly said mockingly.
Joseph held Waverly's waist and pulled her into his arms, "Therefore, we're the same and we are destined to be together. I will give you power and status, which will not be any lesser than being the wife of the President of A Country. Follow me, and we will thrive to the peak and have the world at our feet."
Waverly pulled his hand away, "I'm afraid of the possibility of you pushing me down from the top without me even realizing. The higher I climb, the harder I would fall."
She interjected before Joseph could speak, "Scratch that, you didn't have to do it without me realizing it. You could do it blatantly. I'm no match for you, anyway."
Joseph let out a light chuckle. "Keep your sharp tongue. I like it."
Waverly pursed her lips and remained quiet, her glare unwavering.
"I'm done speaking. Let's go eat," Joseph walked in front of her.
Waverly looked at his back.
His calculative and manipulative nature knew no bounds.
He was very calm when she deliberately talked about him to Bellamy. It was not a good sign.
Joseph walked ten meters, stopped his steps, and turned around to look at her.
She was still standing where she was, not moving at all. She looked at him defensively.
He smirked and walked towards her, his expression turning diabolical. "What's the matter? Did I make you lose your ability to walk?"
Waverly was infuriated, and she slapped him in the face.
He grabbed her wrist, and with one motion, he carried her up. His gaze became even more sinister. "You'll get used to it once we do it a few more times. The more we do it, the lesser pain you'd feel."
