Chapter 1017 Since I've Died For You Once, I Can Do It Again

Waverly was not being jealous. She just felt that Joseph's tone had sounded overly arrogant, hence she talked back to him in the same manner.
Waverly chose to not reply to his message.
"Waverly," Thomson called out to her.
"Yes, Uncle Thomson," Waverly answered respectfully.
"Yazoo mentioned that he wants to be friends with you, so I've arranged for you two to sit together this time. Do have some small talk with him," Thomson said.
Yazoo would bear too many risks by being friends with Waverly. After all, Joseph still had one of the Moore family's fatal weaknesses.
Waverly was reluctant to let Yazoo become like Bernald.
At the thought of Bernald, she felt a twinge in her heart for him.
"Uncle Thomson, it's okay. Marriage is an important affair, and fate plays an important part. I was too anxious before," Waverly said softly.
Thomson looked at Waverly and said, "You're right. Take your time."
Waverly smiled and said, " Uncle Thomson, why don't you look for a partner too? With your status and appearance, many socialites from prominent families will be interested in you."
"I'm used to being alone. There are too many things to deal with in the Mccarthy family," Thomson said. He then stared in front, ending the topic of conversation.
Waverly also stopped talking and looked out of the window.
The Mccarthy family residence was not far from the palace, thus they soon arrived. After checking, the sergeant led them to the parking lot and walked them to the theatre to watch the movie.
The closer they got to the theatre, the more nervous Waverly became.
Although she and Bellamy had just seen each other, she felt as if they had been separated for an incredibly long time.
From afar, she spotted Bellamy, who was sitting at the center of the second floor opposite to the high platform.
He was wearing a black suit and a black down jacket. His clothes were clean and neat, and there was that familiar warm smile on his face.
No matter how difficult the situation was, Waverly felt that she could overcome everything just by looking at his smile.
However, he looked thinner than the time when she had left him. His face was more solid and his jawline was more defined. Although he looked good, she would rather him be a little chubbier so that she would not feel so distressed for him.
Joseph turned back and glanced at Waverly.
Waverly had been staring at Bellamy as she could no longer focus on anyone other than him. She didn't even enjoy the bright lights of the scene in front of her.
Joseph had his face instantly turned blue. He gritted his teeth and asked Giselle, "Who do you think is more handsome, Bellamy or me?"
"Of course I think you're more attractive," Giselle said proudly. "However, A Country's President really is so good-looking, even more handsome than a celebrity."
After Giselle finished speaking, her face darkened. She turned back, glanced at Waverly, and with jealousy lacing her tone, she said, "She's just a nobody. How could she have such good luck? If I had a daughter, my daughter would be the. President's wife, not her."
Joseph suddenly felt that if Giselle really were to give birth to a daughter, it was really possible that he would become Bellamy's brother-in-law, and Waverly would never meet Bellamy at all. That would be so nice.
"Then, why didn't you give birth to a girl?" Joseph asked.
Giselle slapped Joseph on the arm and said, "You alone have made me suffer enough. If I were to bear another child, I'd die of anger."
Joseph frowned and said, "Mom, you go ahead first."
"Huh?"
Joseph stopped and stood in front of Waverly deliberately.
Waverly failed to notice him and she bumped into Joseph. Shocked, she quickly retreated.
Joseph looked at her sinisterly as he said, "Do you pay attention to your surroundings when you walk? What are you looking at?"
Waverly looked at Joseph with fear, trying to hide her panic and uneasiness, also afraid of provoking Joseph. Joseph was looking for trouble, and she was even more terrified that he would seek a fight with Bellamy.
She stayed quiet.
Joseph blocked her way and didn't leave, either.
They did not speak a word to each other but somehow, there was a tense aura surrounding them as they stood face-to-face with each other.
"Joseph," Yasmine called out.
Yasmine smiled and went over to grab Joseph's arm as she said, "Let's head upstairs. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Waverly wanted to leave, but she dared not act rashly.
Yasmine followed Joseph's gaze and noticed Waverly. She frowned in shock and asked, "Why are you here?"
"The Mccarthy family received the tickets from the king, so I came," Waverly explained.
Yasmine frowned and looked at Joseph unhappily. She pouted, "What did you promise me?"
"Why do you think the king no longer forced her to attend the reception? Let's go. Just looking at her annoys me," Joseph walked forward.
"Yes, she's so annoying," Yasmine cast an arrogant look at Waverly and followed Joseph.
Waverly wanted them to leave as soon as possible as she was also irritated by looking at them.
She glanced at her seat number and went upstairs.
Although seat No.45 was also a VIP seat on the second floor, the seat was already on the side.
Joseph, Thomson, Madam Lenny and some members of the Harington family all sat in the center. Of course, the king, the queen, the princess, the prince and Bellamy were also sitting at the center most of the lot.
Waverly restrained herself from looking at Bellamy. However, her eyes would still unconsciously sweep towards Bellamy's direction and look into his eyes.
She had no idea what kind of expression she should display. There were too many concerns in her mind, so she blinked and looked away.
"You've arrived quite early," Yazoo said with a smile. He pulled out his seat which was No.46 and shared a table with Waverly.
Ever since Waverly found out that Bernald's heart was inside Yazoo, she felt kind of familiar with Yazoo.
Looking at his face which was incredibly similar to that of Bernald's, she felt as if she was really talking to Bernald and she smiled.
Yazoo also smiled and said, "I brought you a gift."
He handed the red gift box to Waverly.
The ringtone of Waverly's mobile phone rang.
She glanced at it and saw that it was Joseph. He typed, "You're laughing happily now, but you'll be dead in a moment."
Waverly felt really exasperated.
She held her forehead and looked at Joseph from the crook of her arm.
Joseph stared at her, his face gloomy and arrogant.
He looked so arrogant that it was unbearable.
"What's wrong?" Yazoo asked with a smile.
"Oh," Waverly came to her senses and subconsciously took his gift.
However, she wasn't supposed to accept his present.
"I've been waiting for you to tell me to treat you to a meal," Yazoo said, raising his eyebrows. "I didn't expect to see you so soon. I'm quite happy."
Waverly was nervous. She said, "Yazoo, you're like a brother to me, you know that?"
"Hmm?" Yazoo did not reply to her. He picked up the teacup next to his hand and took a sip. Then, he said in a relaxed manner, "Going from being blind date partners to being like your brother, our relationship seems to have taken a turn all too suddenly. I wasn't prepared for this."
"I used to want to go on a blind date with you because I just thought that we were just ordinary childhood friends, and your father had a very good relationship with my uncle. However, now that I know the relationship between you and Bernald, I can't treat you as my significant other. I'm sorry," Waverly said frankly and wanted to protect him as well.
"Let's be friends first. Have you watched this movie before?" Yazoo changed the topic. Then, he looked at the stage and spotted a gun pointed at Waverly.
"Be careful!" Yazoo shouted. He turned around and held Waverly in his arms.
