Chapter 1048 He Only Wanted Her To Look At Him
He looked out of the window, "Spring is coming. I'm craving wild greens and fresh game. Make me a good feast and I'll ask someone to send you to A Country tomorrow."
"It's useless. I need to enter the country in the official way," Waverly corrected him.
Joseph nodded and said, "I can satisfy your request."
She breathed a sigh of relief and raised the corners of her mouth.
This kind of thing was easy for her. When she was young, she was driven out by Melinda. She followed her father to collect wild vegetables and even set traps to catch wild chickens and birds.
"In addition to wild fish and wild vegetables in your park, there are no wild animals, right? Can I go hunting in the mountains?" She asked.
"Of course, but what can you catch?" He said with a smile.
"If you ask Hayley to follow me, I can catch some wild game," she replied.
He stared at her and nodded, "Okay. Are you going now?"
"Yes, but I can't come back at noon. I'll cook for you in the evening."
"What do you need? Shotguns?"
"It would be great if there are shotguns."
"You make me want to go hunting. I'll ask Joshua to prepare the things." Joseph got up and walked outside.
After a while, Joshua came in.
Waverly could tell that he was dissatisfied with her, but he listened to Joseph's order. He said in a strange voice, "Madam, please come with me."
"Joshua, previously, Joseph wanted me to marry Yadriel. I feel that Yadriel is weird and he's rather taciturn. That's why I detested Joseph's decision. However, I feel that you're much better than Yadriel. Some other day, I'll talk to Joseph about marrying you," she teased him.
His eyes widened and his face flushed red. He said angrily, "Don't even think about it. I don't like you at all. Sir won't allow me to marry a venomous woman like you."
She smiled, "What are you afraid of? By the way, it's inappropriate to call me venomous. Have you heard about the praying mantis?"
"Praying mantis?" He subconsciously stepped back a few steps away from her.
"After the female and male praying mantis mate, the female mantis will eat the male mantis," she responded with a smile.
He blanched, "Why are you so scary?"
"So, be nice to me so that I can be in a better mood. Otherwise, if I cause trouble, I will definitely find someone to back me up. You look good enough. You should be the perfect candidate."
"Don't hurt me. Stay away from me. My brother is in huge trouble because of you," he said. He lowered his head and walked forward quickly.
There was a car parked at the entrance.
The driver was one of Joshua's men.
Joshua sat in the passenger seat with a tense look on his face.
Waverly sat in the back seat of the car. As soon as Hayley got in the car and closed the door, Joseph's men opened the door.
Joseph stood at the door and gave Hayley an order, "Get out."
Hayley was startled.
Waverly was taken aback, too.
"You are sick. Don't you want to rest?" Waverly asked in surprise.
One of Joseph's men brought Hayley down from the car.
Joseph sat next to Waverly and tidied up his clothes, "I'm resting now."
"It's tiring to take the car," she reminded him.
"You're right." Joseph laid down and rested his head on her lap.
She was speechless and looked into his charming eyes, "If the car brakes suddenly, I can't protect you. You may fall."
He looked at her calmly and said, "If you don't want to go to A Country, let me fall."
After hearing that, she dared not let him fall. After all, whether she could visit A Country or not depended on him.
She didn't want to give up such a good opportunity. Once she became the Peace Lady, she would have more rights. She would also have more power.
"You're childish," Waverly scolded him.
Joseph raised the corner of his mouth and turned over. He put his arms around her waist and closed his eyes.
The car started.
She looked behind her and saw that there were more than a dozen cars following them. There were also trucks.
He really was not afraid of being known by others. He was making such a high profile appearance.
The driver was driving cautiously. He tried his best to maintain a steady speed and reduced brakes.
Two hours had passed.
She was sleepy and yawned.
He opened his eyes and looked at her. He got up and put his arms around her shoulders. He forced her to lie on his lap. He looked at the front and said, "Now, it's your turn to rest."
She did not struggle.
She knew that it was useless to do so. She asked impatiently, "Where are we going? When will we arrive? It's been a long time and it's now noon. If we don't have enough time and don't have any luck, we won't be able to catch any game."
"Why the rush? I'll definitely let you go tomorrow if I'm satisfied," he said calmly.
She ignored him.
She was still going to catch some wild animals. Therefore, she'd better conserve her energy and rest.
Joshua looked at Joseph from the rearview mirror and pursed his lips in dissatisfaction.
Joseph was really nice to Waverly and he let her sleep on his lap. However, she did not appreciate his kindness.
He almost fell in love with this kind and caring Joseph. Waverly was a tough one.
Another hour later, the car stopped. She opened her eyes and sat up. There was a portable house in front of her.
This kind of house could often be seen on construction sites.
Someone opened the car door.
Joseph got out of the car first and she followed him into the house.
It was large, clean and neat.
There was a bed, sofa, coffee table, desk, computer, and even a TV. It had everything.
He laid on the sofa and several men carried their suitcases into the house.
He looked at her and said, "Aren't you going to hunt? Why did you follow me? Do you want to stay with me?"
She did not reply.
She turned around and went out. The door closed behind her.
Hayley ran over, "Madam, why are we here? Are we going to camp?"
"No." She looked at the mountain beside them, "Joseph wants to have some wild game. We don't have much time. Let's go hunting now."
"Now? I've eaten breakfast early. I haven't had lunch yet. Aren't we going to eat something? Otherwise, I'll be too hungry to hunt," Hayley complained.
"I'll ask," Waverly said. She watched Joshua bring two men over.
One of them was the man who had just driven the car while the other was a man carrying a suitcase.
Joshua also had two bags in his hand.
He threw the bags on the ground and said to Waverly, "There are essentials in this bag. Why did you come so far to hunt? Do you know Sir has not recovered yet? What if his wound reopens?"
She didn't know they would come all the way here. She thought it would be near the hot spring.
She couldn't be bothered to explain it to him.
She squatted down and opened one of the black bags…
