Chapter 829 If I Die, I Deserve It

Stella entered Sean's room.
He immediately stood up and looked at Stella, waiting for her to speak.
"I've found Eli's address, but it's not convenient for you to go to D Country. So I'll go there instead and bring Eli to a different country. Then, you can meet us there," Stella suggested.
Sean curled up the corners of his mouth and said insidiously, "She will not be willing to follow you if she intends to hide from me. And you are soft-hearted. In the end, we will end up with nothing. Give me the address, and I will solve this problem by myself."
"But it's too dangerous for you to go to D Country. If Haward catches you, he can kill you on the spot because you have no identity right now. You technically don't exist," Stella said with worry.
"If so, I deserve it," Sean said firmly, "If you don't tell me where she is, I will go to D Country to search for her myself."
Stella took a deep breath and handed Eli's address over. "Eli has a six-month-old daughter. We don't know if it's hers yet. We're waiting for the DNA test results right now. I'll let you know as soon as the results are out. So, don't be impulsive."
Sean sneered. "We were never deeply in love anyway. It's normal for her to fall for someone else. I just want her to say it to my face. If she truly doesn't like me anymore, I will give up on her completely. Don't worry, I won't cause her any trouble, and I won't put her in a spot either. This is my final bid of farewell to our relationship."
Stella truly felt like Sean was a good man, but Eli didn't cherish him. Since things have gotten to where they were now, she had no choice but to let things take their courses.
"I will go to D Country with you together this afternoon," Stella said.
"There's no need for that. You have helped me a lot. I will remember the kindness that you and Jasper have shown me. Even though you knew Eli was married, you still insisted on releasing me. I admire your frankness and free-spiritedness. I owe you my life, and I will agree to any request you have in the future, no matter what it is," Sean said firmly.
"What if I ask you not to oppose Bellamy?" Stella said straightforwardly.
Sean raised the corners of his mouth slightly and said, "Anything you want. But remember, you can only choose one request. So, take your time to think about it before you tell me."
Stella's heart thumped. Sean's words were too inscrutable. She had a bad feeling.
"Let Jasper come in. I have something to tell him," Sean said again.
Stella hesitated for a while before heading out.
Jasper stood at the door and looked at her worriedly.
If she was unhappy, he would be unhappy too.
"He wants to see you," Stella said.
"Wait for me in the next room. There is a bed. If you are tired, you can rest for a while," Jasper said softly as he tucked her hair behind her ear.
Her face was very haggard due to lack of sleep. The dark circles beneath her eyes were also very prominent.
Stella nodded and went to the next room.
Jasper went in to meet Sean.
Sean turned around to face Jasper. "I knew you wouldn't die so easily."
"Yeah," Jasper simply replied. He wasn't much of a talker. The relationship he had with Sean was rather unique.
Sean's father had killed his parents, meanwhile, his brother had taken over Sean's position as President. Then he saved Sean. It was hard to tell whether they were enemies or friends.
"What do you want me to do?" Jasper asked directly.
Sean didn't want to beat around the bush either. His face turned solemn as he said, "Send me to D Country later. Don't let Stella come with. Not only would she not be able to solve the issue, but she'll only be an extra burden for me. You have been together with her for a long time and have experienced too many hardships. Don't bother yourself with this problem anymore."
Jasper looked at Sean deeply and lowered his eyes. Many thoughts were passing through his mind. "I can't send you off in person. You know as well as I how dangerous that would be. But I've made arrangements. My men will bring you to her."
"I understand. What you have done is enough. You may arrange for me to leave now," Sean said decisively.
"Follow me," Jasper turned around and walked out, followed by Sean.
Stella waited and waited but Jasper did not return. She started to feel uneasy so she came out of the room. She looked over next door and stood by the door.
Time passed by slowly. She ran over in surprise when she saw Jasper walking towards her from the corridor. "I thought you were still in the room with Sean."
"Sean has left."
Stella's eyes widened. "Is he going to D Country? I want to go too. I want to meet Eli before Sean does."
"Stella, let them settle their matters privately. If you go, it'll make things even more complicated," Jasper suggested.
"I'm worried."
"How about this? My men are in D Country. If anything happens, I'll get them to report it to me," Jasper suggested.
Stella lowered her eyes.
She couldn't solve any problems even if she were to go to D Country. Human hearts were the most difficult things to grasp. It was impossible to force someone else to change, so she shouldn't try.
She nodded.
"Let's go back now," Jasper said.
"Okay." Stella replied and left with Jasper.
In the car, they didn't say anything. Stella wanted to sleep, but she couldn't. She just closed her eyes in a daze.
Two hours later, the car arrived at the gate of the military base and passed through security. Stella opened her eyes and looked at her watch. It was almost 8 a.m. She asked Jasper, "Are you having a meeting later?"
"Yes, I'll head over after breakfast. Sleep for a while more. Don't think too much. Sean hasn't boarded his plane. There's no use overthinking about it now," Jasper comforted her.
"I know," Stella looked at Jasper with worry.
He barely slept last night, and now he had to go to a meeting. She didn't want him to worry about her.
They went back to their yard to have breakfast. Jasper left after that.
Stella led Sandro to the playground in the backyard. Suddenly, her phone rang. She noticed that it was Eli so she quickly picked up.
"Stella, did you call me?" Eli asked.
"Why was your phone out of service?" Stella asked angrily.
"I designed it to be that way. Sean has been released, right?" Eli asked with concern.
"Yes, he has."
"That's good. By the way, tell him not to come to D Country."
Stella pursed her lips and did not speak. She did not want to tell Eli that Sean was already on his way. She suspected that Eli had called her to test the waters.
"He's not coming, is he?" Eli guessed.
Stella took a deep breath and asked, "Where do you live now?"
"I- I can't tell you right now. Give me some time."
"How many days do you need?" Stella asked.
"Stella, my baby is crying. I'll talk to you later," Eli said before hanging up the phone.
Stella gritted her teeth and called Eli.
"Sorry, the number you have dialed is out of service," The machine's cold voice rang again.
Stella put her phone away and set it down on the windowsill. Right now, all she could do was wait...
