Chapter 832 I Want To Take Back Everything That's Mine
His eyes suddenly turned cold and deep. He locked his gaze on Eli tightly as he suppressed the anger within him. He asked in a cold voice, "You and Haward's?"
"No, I found her," After replying, Eli suddenly realized that she was not in a dream.
She looked at Sean in shock. "You-you, how- how did you come here?"
Sean narrowed his eyes. "Do you not want me here?"
Eli immediately turned around, and Sean held onto her arm. He was much stronger than her and she couldn't shrug him off.
She shouted anxiously, "Haward, Haward!"
Sean had an extremely frigid look on his face. She was screaming for her husband as if she was being molested.
He covered Eli's mouth and pulled her to a tree nearby. "Calling for Haward to catch me, huh?"
Eli fell silent and scanned him.
His gaze was like that of a bunny. He was apprehensive, scared yet helpless.
Even though he had come with good intentions, she was still intimidated by him.
"I just want to say a few words, and then, I'll leave," Sean said flatly.
Eli nodded.
Sean loosened his grip and looked at her drooping eyes. "Did you marry Haward voluntarily?"
"Yes. He takes good care of me and helps me a lot. I'm at ease when I'm with him. I don't have to worry about anything and I can live a free life."
Sean raised the corners of his mouth, but his eyes reddened. "You thought that I won't be able to give you all that, right?"
Eli slowly clenched her fist. Her eyes were starting to get misty and she kept quiet.
"Do you like him?" Sean continued to ask.
Eli pursed her lips with her head still lowered. She closed her eyes and said, "Yes, I like him."
"You do? Then, what about me?" Sean lifted her chin so that their eyes would meet. "Have you ever liked me?"
Eli's body was trembling, and her eyes welled up with more tears. She tightened her fists.
She liked him very much. She liked him so much that she didn't even care if she died. Nothing else mattered as long as he was alive and as long as their child could live on. She was willing to die and go to hell for him as long as he stayed alive and eventually regain his position at the top.
However, she couldn't say any of that. If she did, he would die for sure.
"Let bygones be bygones. I'm already married. There's no point in saying these things. But if you insist on an answer, I did like you before. But now... I want to start fresh," Eli said.
"What do you mean by starting fresh? Do you want to start over with me, or do you want me to not disturb you anymore?" Sean continued asking.
It was too cruel. She couldn't bring herself to say it. However, if she didn't, both he and their child would die. "Sean, I'm sorry."
"I don't want an apology," Sean loosened his hand and looked at her with sorrow.
Seeing Sean's eyes, Eli's heart ached. It was the first time that she had seen him looking at her with such sorrow in his eyes. Even when he had fallen from his position, he had dealt with it with a smile.
She didn't want to cry, but her tears flowed down uncontrollably. She was afraid that she would blurt everything out if she were to stay for a second longer.
"I'm sorry," Eli said as she ran toward the road. She pushed the stroller away quickly as if there was a demon chasing her. She dared not turn back.
Sean stood where he was, with his eyes locked on Eli. He didn't move at all until she had disappeared from his view.
In his heart and mind, he felt like he had been struck by a huge blow. Every part of him was trembling. On the outside, he looked calm and collected, but on the inside, he was breaking apart.
At the same time, it felt as though his soul had left his body. He had no idea where he belonged and he felt lost with nowhere to go. Even when he lost his position as President, he did not feel like this.
On the road, six black SUVs pulled up. Sean could sense the danger as he glanced over to his right.
The cars stopped, and Larry got out of the car. Meanwhile, his men quickly surrounded the area.
Sean chuckled without a trace of fear. His cold eyes swept over Larry. He did not run, but maintained his composure.
Larry walked towards Sean. "You've got some nerves. Eli said you were here but I didn't believe her. Yet, here you are."
"Eli told you?" Sean narrowed his eyes.
"It seems that she is frightened by you. Sean, do you believe in karma? Back when my sister was pining after you, you didn't want her and she committed suicide. Now, you're pining after Eli, but she has betrayed you. You will die here today," Larry laughed insidiously.
"It wasn't my rejection that caused your sister to die. It was your indecent love for her that caused her to lose hope and kill herself," Sean said faintly.
Larry's face instantly turned pale. "You're blabbering nonsense. I only love my sister as a sibling. I never had any unnatural feelings for her."
"If you had acknowledged your own feelings, perhaps she would still be by your side. It was the hatred you had for yourself and your sister that caused her that fatal blow. Have you read her diary?" Sean asked calmly.
Larry's eyes flashed violently as if he was trying to hold something back. He grew even more furious. "Don't try to scare me with your words. I won't believe you. I won't let you off no matter what you say."
Larry raised his gun and pointed it at Sean.
Sean didn't move at all. He locked eyes with Larry and stared at him deeply. It was as though he was just an outsider, watching this entire scene unfold like he was above them all.
When Larry was about to shoot, a red dot appeared on his forehead.
He frowned and immediately noticed that his men had red dots on them as well. "Your people are lying in ambush nearby, waiting for me to fall into the trap."
"I never planned to kill you, so why would I set up a trap for you? Go read your sister's diary and you'll understand. Stop being so obsessed with me. Your sister liked you, not me," Sean said with the corner of his mouth raised.
Larry was even more shocked. He stared at Sean, his chest heaving up and down as he pursed his lips.
A Maybach drove over and stopped in front of Sean. The man inside lowered the window down and said in a low voice, "Get in."
Sean opened the door and got in the car.
The car was driven to a secret private airport.
Sean looked ahead and guessed, "Do you work for Jasper?"
"The Chief has ordered us to protect you."
"Jasper," Sean murmured, "I owe you my life yet again. Where are you guys taking me?"
"The Chief has asked us to send you to the airport so you can take a flight to Switchland. He has prepared a manor, a landed property, and a new name for you, Jordan Yaleman."
"I appreciate Jasper's kindness. You can let me down at the side later. I will deal with my own affairs. You guys can report this back to him. Escaping isn't how I solve things. The right thing to do is to take back everything I once had," Sean said firmly.
