Chapter 1132 Birds Of The Same Feather Flock Together. To Be Reunited, Is Just What Fate Has Planned
"I was wrong. I've realized deeply that I was in the wrong. I should bad-mouth you rather than Madam. Mr. Mccarthy, I should offend you rather than offend Madam," Yadriel lowered his head and said in a low tone.
Joseph stood up and walked up to him, "You feel wronged?"
"I feel wronged on your behalf." Yadriel's eyes were red as he said, "Mr. Mccarthy, I know very well that even though you've treated her so well, she has never treated you fairly. As soon as Bellamy went to find her, she threw everything away. She didn't even want the title of Peace Lady and was willing to follow Bellamy again. Does she know how much effort, energy and time you've spent in order to earn the title of Peace Lady for her?"
"She likes Bellamy, so naturally she doesn't need to think about what's fair or not with him," Joseph said clearly.
"If so, why are you treating her so well?" Yadriel didn't understand Joseph's actions.
"You're my best friend," Joseph said with sadness in his eyes. "I will only tell you this once, and only you can listen to me."
Yadriel looked at Joseph seriously.
Joseph was silent. It was as if in his heart, he was also struggling, hesitating and also being indecisive. After a long time, he said, "When have you seen me make a wrong judgement and make a wrong decision? Others don't trust me, so do you?"
"It's precisely because I trust you that I feel that she is not worthy of you," Yadriel's eyes turned even redder.
Joseph's expression didn't change much. The corners of his lips curled up as he said, "What if one day, she takes over Madam Lenny's position and stands by my side?"
"I feel that if she were to take over Madam Lenny's position, it's not because she is on your side, but because she wants to stay away from you. She's preparing to go to Bellamy. Mr. Mccarthy, the only wrong decision you can make is choosing her," Yadriel said worriedly.
Joseph's expression froze as his eyes turned desolate, "You still don't believe in my decision? I won't allow you to make your own decisions. Haven't you realized the consequences of that shooting incident?"
Yadriel lowered his head, "I couldn't think clearly because of my concern for you. Perhaps it is me who is being irrational. I think it's better if I continue to reflect on my words."
After Yadriel finished his sentence, he turned around and left Joseph's office.
Joseph went back to his seat, stared at the black screen and dialed a number.
Waverly had just finished reading the news. She answered the call from Joseph.
However, Joseph was silent on the other end of the phone, not making a single sound.
"Hello?" Waverly called out.
There was still no sound from Joseph's side.
"Hello?" Waverly called out again. There was still no sound from Joseph, so she said, "Your signal is not good. I'll hang up first."
When Waverly was about to hang up on the call, Joseph said, "What are you doing now?"
"Eating. We've ordered food to our room," Waverly said while taking a sip of the mushroom soup and making some slurping sounds.
"Don't you have anything to report to me?" Joseph asked.
Waverly paused, put down the spoon in her hand and leaned back on the chair. Looking at the distant scenery, she said, "I've seen the news. Thank you."
"That's all?" Joseph further inquired.
"You know what I have to report to you. There's no need to ask me so much," Waverly said coldly.
How could her petty intentions avoid his radar? Joseph said, "I would like to hear more about your report. Haha."
Joseph's laughter sounded too ironic.
She drank the red wine in her glass and her eyes became more and more determined, "I've told you before. I want to be a warrior."
"Bellamy's warrior or my warrior?" Joseph asked.
As a matter of fact, he knew the truth very well.
However, people always refused to believe what they didn't want to believe. They were more willing to believe what they wanted to believe. They kept asking and searching for the truth, but in reality, they didn't want to know the truth. They just wanted to hear the words they envisioned.
"I want to be a warrior for myself. I can't be sure about the changes in the future, just like how I used to like Bellamy. I thought I would live for him in this life and now I feel like that is an absurd idea. If you trust me, then trust me. If you don't trust me, then there's nothing else I can do about it."
Joseph laughed and said with certainty, "I only believe in myself. There's something I have to remind you. Although Prince Kewell is a favorable candidate for the heir, he has a rocky relationship with Queen Danina. Under Queen Danina's instigation, he will support Prince Caesar. When you meet with him at three o'clock, you should pay attention to the negotiation so that you can succeed. Don't reveal your secret to others. It's not worth it."
Waverly's heart jumped.
As expected, he had found out that she had asked to meet Cadwell.
However, she had to thank him for his reminder. If she were to directly incite a fight between him and Prince Caesar, she would die an unknown death.
"Thank you," Waverly thanked him sincerely.
Joseph gave a faint smile.
He bet on his understanding of Waverly that despite her cold appearance, she had a heart warmer than anyone else's.
"Call me if you need anything. I have already completed all the procedures for you. That's it," said Joseph. After that, he hung up on the call right away.
Waverly took a deep breath, put her cell phone on the table and continued to drink the soup.
She had to eat more to get better, as only when she got better would she have more energy to fight.
It was three o'clock in the afternoon.
Under Thomas' arrangement, she met Cadwell.
He was the king's second son, Prince Caesar's uncle.
"Thomas said that you have something important to talk to me about. He specially asked me to meet you. What do you want to talk about that we have to meet face-to-face?" Cadwell asked while sizing up Waverly, speaking in a detached tone, on guard.
"I don't know the details either. Go ahead and have a chat between the two of you. I won't be participating," Thomas said. Without waiting for them to say anything, he quickly walked out.
Waverly laughed. Thomas really knew how to keep himself safe.
"Today is my lucky day. After so many months, the slander against me has finally been cleared. I have met you once before. I will be leaving tomorrow, so I wanted to see you," Waverly said with a smile.
"Let's get straight to the point." Cadwell looked at the watch on his wrist, "You have ten minutes. After ten minutes, I'm leaving for a meeting."
"To be honest, I just wanted to gain another friend, so I came here on purpose." Waverly took out the prepared information and handed it to Cadwell, "If you need anything, you can find my contact information on it. I welcome you to visit M Country at any time. If we're not destined to meet again, I'll cherish this opportunity well. You're quite busy, so I won't disturb you."
Feeling suspicious, Cadwell took the file from Waverly and asked, "What do you want to say?"
"What I want to say is all in the file. That is all. I hope that there is a chance for us to cooperate," Waverly reached out her hand.
Cadwell frowned and shook hands with Waverly.
"I believe that birds of the same feather flock together. Everyone is always talking about fate. If our morals, principles and views are the same, there will be a day where we will be reunited. If that day doesn't come, then I'm sorry to have disturbed you," Waverly smiled, turned around and left.
