Chapter 809 A Simple, Unpretentious Life
"She is your mother's goddaughter. Your mother doesn't have anyone else by her side. Just let her accompany your mother. Your mother will also need someone to take care of her," Stella said softly.
"She had scolded you just now. Don't you blame her?" Jasper asked as he picked up Sandro's toys.
"Of course not. She feels sorry for Ralph, so she will definitely be angry when I refute her. People will usually say hurtful things when they are angry. That's normal. Furthermore, she is already dissatisfied with me, so she will definitely vent it out. She is getting old. We have to take good care of her in the future," Stella said with a smile.
Jasper also smiled.
She might look cold, but deep down, she knew a lot and was very considerate.
"Sandro, call me Daddy," Jasper said.
"Daddy," Sandro shouted absent-mindedly while playing with his toys.
Stella felt a sense of tenderness in her heart seeing how well-behaved he was. She lowered her head and planted a kiss on Sandro's face.
Sandro looked at Stella and kissed her on the face. It seemed that the intimacy was because of the blood connection.
Half an hour later...
Lynette approached and said to them, "Dinner is ready. Mr. and Mrs. Milton, Anthea, and Young Master, please come down for dinner."
"Let's go down and eat," Jasper said, stretching out his hand to hold Stella's.
Stella picked up Sandro instead.
Jasper was speechless.
Anthea struggled to hold back her laughter. During her last class reunion, everyone mentioned that if a man had a son, the most important person in his heart would still be his wife. On the other hand, if a woman had a son, the most important person in her heart would be her son.
They also said that, however, if a man had a daughter, the most important person in his heart would be his daughter. If a woman had a daughter, the most important person in her heart would still be her husband.
She was not married, had no boyfriend, and had never given birth to a child. Hence, she just listened to what they said. However, it seemed to be true.
Stella carried Sandro down the stairs where Suzi was setting the table. She greeted her respectfully. "Mom."
"Okay, take a seat. I'm sorry that I lost my temper just now and said something hurtful," Suzi apologized.
"It's okay," Stella said with a smile. She looked at Sandro and said, "Say Grandma."
"Grandma," Sandro shouted meekly, looking at Suzi with his round black eyes.
Suzi also liked Sandro. She replied, "Good boy..."
She then looked at Stella and said, "There is a baby chair for Sandro. I'll take him to dinner first."
"Okay."
Suzi carried Sandro and put him into the baby chair.
She had prepared food for Sandro while Anthea fed him.
Suzi had prepared a sumptuous feast. There was roast chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, mushroom soup, bread, and pasta.
Stella had not had home-cooked food for a long time, so she suddenly had a good appetite."Yummy," She praised generously after having a slice of roast chicken and mashed potatoes.
Suzi raised a smile upon hearing her compliment, "Do eat more. You are too thin. It's better for you to gain a little more weight."
"I'm learning martial arts from Jasper now. It's good for me. Mom, you should eat more too," Stella said with a smile.
Jasper took a slice of bread and spread some garlic butter on it and placed it on Stella's plate.
Stella's heart was filled with sweetness as she ate the bread. It was very delicious.
She also took a slice of bread and spread some garlic butter on it and placed it on his plate.
Love was like a beautiful waltz. It was not giving blindly or receiving blindly. It required sacrifices and hard work from both parties.
"Oh, by the way, is Elvis still following you now?" Stella asked casually.
Lynette visibly trembled and lowered her head.
"He should be nearby."
"Ask him to come and have dinner with us," Stella said.
"Okay," Jasper replied and made a call.
Lynette quickly ate her meal. In a minute, she had already finished her meal. Then she said to Anthea, "Go and have your meal. Let me feed him."
"Okay," Anthea responded and sat at the dining table.
After a while, Elvis came over and greeted them respectfully, "Mrs. Milton, Chief."
"Elvis, I haven't seen you for a long time. You look even fitter now," Suzi said happily.
Elvis scratched his head shyly, looked at Jasper, and said, "It's all thanks to the Chief who has taken good care of me."
Lynette took a peek at Elvis with wavering eyes. She lowered her head and continued to feed Sandro.
Elvis did not notice Lynette, who was sitting next to Anthea. He gave Anthea a smile, which made her blush even deeper.
A bitter smile could be seen at the corner of Lynette's mouth when she saw the brief exchange while she was feeding Sandro.
Sandro wagged his head contentedly and knocked on the table, attracting everyone's attention.
Elvis also looked at Sandro and said, "At first glance, I can tell that he's a martial arts prodigy."
Everyone at the table was smiling, and even Jasper, who seldom smiled, had a slight raise at the corner of his mouth.
Lynette looked at Elvis, but he did not even take a glance at her. She did not want to be snubbed either and she continued feeding Sandro.
Stella could see that something was going on between Lynette and Elvis at a glance. She turned to look at Jasper and met his gaze.
Jasper lowered his voice and said, "You planned to set them up in the past, but Elvis was not interested at all."
"I could tell," Stella said softly as she placed a slice of roast chicken into his plate.
They had an enjoyable and peaceful meal.
After the meal, Jasper and Stella took Sandro out for a walk.
A cool breeze brushed across her face, wafting the fragrance of flowers and plants.
"Is the President your older or younger brother?" Stella asked.
"He said that he is my older brother. We are identical twins, so we look very alike. He will go directly to the military base to meet us tomorrow. Also, he is married to Waverly Martell. She has recently changed her name to Waverly Mccarthy," Jasper said.
Stella shook her head and said, "I don't remember any of these people."
"You haven't seen her before, but you have suggested Bellamy marry her. Waverly is the eldest daughter of the Mccarthy family. She has followed her father around since young. She only returned to the Mccarthy family after her father died," Jasper explained.
Stella nodded. She could not remember and had no interest in these people.
She squeezed Jasper's shoulder as her eyes grew brighter. "What kind of job are you going to arrange for me at the military base?"
"The Chief's wife," Jasper said solemnly.
Stella smiled and said, "Arrange a psychology role for me. I need to do something so that I won't be too bored."
"Okay, I will make the arrangements after we go back to the military base tomorrow. Do you still want to see other patients who are not from the base?"
"I won't see them. I could still treat the soldiers' families. I used to be in obstetrics and gynecology, so I know how to deliver babies. Soldiers and their wives and children have been separated for too long, so they would naturally miss home. If we could fetch them over so that they can see each other often, I believe they will be more grateful. These soldiers protect our homes and defend our country. They have sacrificed a lot, so we should help them to fight for more benefits, right?" Stella said thoughtfully.
"I'll leave this matter to you then. If you have any ideas, you may propose them to me. You don't have to worry about money. Milton Corp is still rich."
