Chapter 884 It's Your Decision
Bellamy glanced at her and replied, "Don't be ridiculous, you're still a child. Let's eat. The food gets cold easily during winter."
He turned around, and Waverly's eyes darkened.
Bellamy was treating her like a child. No wonder he had no intentions of having sex with her.
"A child is afraid of the dark. I'm scared to stay alone in the room. What should I do?" Waverly asked softly as she walked to the table with a smile.
She was not sure if Bellamy heard her words or he just pretended not to. He did not give her any response and just continued eating.
"Are you going to work until New Years' Eve?" Waverly asked.
"I have a lot of things to attend to recently. I need bigger news to shift the public attention, so there will be more meetings," Bellamy said.
"What if all these things were done by Sean? You had been doing a good job for so many years. There should be a lot of supporters," Waverly suggested.
"I don't want the country to plunge into civil strife in order to protect myself. That's definitely not what I want."
"Five years ago, you were still a very ambitious man. Otherwise, you wouldn't have framed Sean and became the President of A country. But why have you become so timid now? You can only protect your brother and your brother's wife well when you are the President," Waverly said seriously.
"Since I have let Sean go, I will not go after him again. Someone is trying to get to me but I haven't confirmed whether this person is Sean. I'll settle this matter."
"Of course you should be the one settling this matter. Even if you use other news to cover it, you still can't cover the fact that I slept with someone else. Our marriage will still have to end up in divorce. You will have to face it alone in the future. I've finished eating, enjoy your meal. It is my fault for losing my temper. Don't worry. Give me one night. I will be fine tomorrow," Waverly said and walked to her room.
Bellamy looked at the plate. She had not eaten much.
Marie brought the brown sugar ginger tea over.
"I'll bring it over to her," Bellamy said. He took the brown sugar ginger tea from Marie's hands and walked towards Waverly's room.
He did not knock on the door and pushed it open directly.
Waverly was sitting on the sofa, trying to calm herself down. Perhaps, she felt sorry for his repeated sacrifices. That was why she could not maintain her composure.
"Go to sleep after you finish this cup of tea. You'll feel terrible if you catch a cold. You need to take care of your body," Bellamy said and placed the ginger sugar tea on the table.
Waverly picked up the cup and took a sip of it.
"Be careful. It's hot," Bellamy reminded. However, it was too late. Waverly had already scalded her mouth. She took a deep breath, covered her mouth, and put down the cup.
"Let me have a look," Bellamy said with concern and moved in closer to her. She could see his handsome face right in front of her eyes.
Waverly felt her heart beat faster.
To her, although Bellamy and Jasper looked exactly alike, they had a different aura. When she saw Jasper, she felt only his icy coldness, callousness, and aloofness.
However, Bellamy gave her a warm feeling. If the person who came to see her at that time was Jasper, she would not have agreed to be the wife of the President. After all, even if she did not love him, she still had to find someone with whom she could get along.
Bellamy thought that she did not understand what he meant, so he gently pinched her chin and said, "Open your mouth."
"Just slightly scalded. It will feel a little painful now, but it should be fine in a while," Waverly assured.
Bellamy's brows furrowed and said, "Why are you so careless? You can't be so rash anymore in the future, do you understand?"
"I will find a good man to take care of me. Someone who will care about me, remind me, and blow on hot water for me before giving it to me," Waverly murmured.
"I believe you will find that person," Bellamy said calmly.
Waverly's heart was filled with sadness, "Well, what about you? What kind of woman do you want to find in the future? A woman like Stella?"
Bellamy sat next to her and kept quiet.
Waverly was actually testing him, but his answer usually made her uncomfortable. She quickly added, "You don't have to answer me."
Bellamy glanced at Waverly and said, "I'm already too old for love now. You're still young, and you'll have a lot of chances to fall in love in the future. I believe that you'll eventually find someone you like."
"What if the person I like, doesn't like me back?" Waverly asked sarcastically.
"Then he's not worthy of you," Bellamy replied.
His answer made her felt even more upset, "I am willing to lower my status. After all, he is the person I like. Whether he is worth it or not, I still need a response from him."
"You're still young. Alright, rest early. The ginger tea should have cooled down by now. Remember to drink it," Bellamy said and stood up.
Waverly hugged his waist and buried her head in his chest. She did not dare to look at his expression because it would make her desperate and even lose her courage, "Let's sleep together tonight."
"Don't be silly," Bellamy responded and removed her arms from his waist.
Waverly's shoulders drooped Bellamy was affectionate to Stella but he was quite ruthless to other women.
Over the next few days, she did not know whether Bellamy was really busy or he was deliberately trying to stay out of her way, but she did not see him again at the villa.
She also followed his instructions. She did not go online or go anywhere else. Therefore, she did not know what was happening to the outside world.
She went through her emotions quietly.
She calmed down a lot after a few days and she accepted the fact that she was about to break up with Bellamy.
Bellamy did not give her the slightest bit of hope of being together.
She wrote down '242' in her notebook. From now on, she only had 242 hours left to spend with Bellamy.
Waverly dashed out of the room upon hearing the sound of a car outside the door. She forgot to put on an extra coat as she hurried out
The cold air hit her hard. It was much colder outside.
Bellamy took off his gloves and said with a frown, "Why didn't you put on extra clothes before coming out? Do you want to catch a cold?"
"I... I came out to get a glass of water," Waverly explained.
"Okay, quickly go back to your room and put on extra clothes. I have something to talk to you," Bellamy said, taking off his coat and putting it on the hanger.
Waverly guessed that he was going to talk to her about their divorce. She turned around, went back to her room, put on a down jacket, and came out again.
Bellamy poured her a cup of ginger sugar tea and reminded her, "I just poured it. It's a little hot. Wait for five minutes before drinking."
"Okay, what do you want to tell me?" Waverly asked.
"It's New Years' Eve tomorrow. Mom asked me to go back for the dinner. I want to ask you if you'll like to come along," Bellamy said.
Ah, this was what he wanted to talk about. All these years, she would always go back with Bellamy. If she did not go this year, it would be awkward for Bellamy to face Stella and Jasper alone.
She was embroiled in a scandal just weeks ago, and she was a little hesitant since Bellamy and she was going to divorce. Hence, she simply said to Bellamy, "It's your decision."
