Chapter 867 If It's Possible, I Hope To Live In Peace

Eli went back to the room and saw Sean looking through his phone. When he saw her return, he put his phone away and said, "Dinner is ready."
"Crabs, crabs! I've loved eating crabs since I was a child," Eli laughed and said cheerily.
Sean smiled affectionately and said, "Why do I remember that you loved eating meat the most when you were a child?"
"That's because crabs are seasonal. I'll only eat meat when there are no crabs," Eli explained and sat down at the table.
The chef brought two crabs and their condiments to the table, as well as some kitchen tools.
"Wow, I'm digging in," Eli took the scissors and cut off the crab's leg.
She could not continue as she only had one arm.
Sean peeled the crab's leg, dipped it with sauce, and handed it to her.
Eli took a bite without any hesitation.
Reuben approached them shortly after with a slight frown. He took the initiative to come forward and asked with a nod, "Mr. Yaleman, do you need help?"
"None needed," Sean replied as he really enjoyed feeding Eli.
Eli looked at Sean with a smile etched on her face. Her eyes were sparkling with joy as she said, "You should eat too. It's really delicious."
"I'm afraid that you'll get impatient if I made you wait for too long."
"I want to try peeling a crab by myself too. It's satisfying to eat crabs without anyone's help," Eli said.
Reuben brought a bamboo tube over. There were two iron clippers on it.
He took the crab, peeled it, and fixed its legs onto the bamboo tube. That way, Eli could eat it with one hand.
Eli was pleasantly surprised, and she said, "Reuben, thank you."
Sean felt a twinge of jealousy and looked at Reuben with a scowl.
Reuben lowered his head after he saw Sean's displeased face and immediately disappeared from his sight.
Eli was eating the crab roe with a small spoon, which was exceptionally delicious. Then, she used scissors to cut the crab shell open to extract the meat.
"Sean, I think that I can eat three of them," Eli said delightedly.
"Crabs are high in cholesterol, so it's not good for your health. You are only allowed to eat two a day. I'll let you eat three once you get better," Sean said disapprovingly as he put the peeled crab legs neatly into the sauce.
Eli smiled slightly but did not insist. She wanted to use all her strength to remember Sean's features because there might not be a chance for them to see each other again after parting ways.
They took a stroll and went to the lake for boating after the meal. They spent three days happily together.
Sean treated her very well and gave her everything she wanted. She had a good time and enjoyed herself very much. They hugged each other to sleep but did not have sex.
Sean knew that she did not want to. Hence, they did not take the initiative to do so.
They continued to go for her arm's treatment every day. She did not faint that day but she was startled when she saw Hodge at the villa.
Sean seemed to have noticed the exchange. Displeased, he said to Hodge, "Come to my study room."
"Yes, Mr. Yaleman," Hodge replied and followed Sean into the study room.
Eli could not sit still as she had a bad feeling. She turned around and saw Brock standing by the door. Her heart was beating rapidly and her face turned pale.
"Come with me," Brock said as he turned his back around.
She did not want to go, but she knew that she had to.
Brock took her near the bamboo grove and said intently, "You shouldn't have married Mr. Yaleman."
"I believe you know why I had married Sean. Do you think that I get to choose not to marry him if he wants me to? He has already registered a fake name for me. I believe that he could easily get a legal marriage certificate even if I don't go to the Civil Administration Bureau with him," Eli said.
"You being alive is a threat to his life. Also, we have agreed that your child's safety will only be guaranteed if you are dead. I hope you know what you should do," Brock said with displeasure.
"Could you give me one month?" Eli asked calmly.
"Don't do anything that you will regret. You have already dragged Sean down once. I believe you won't wish to drag him down a second time," Brock warned as he left.
Reuben, who was standing not far from them, had heard their conversation. He clenched his fist tightly as his eyes turned red with anger.
Eli did not notice that Reuben was there as she headed back to the house.
She had expected that they would say something like that to her.
A month was long enough for her.
She returned to her room, lay down on the sofa, turned on the television, continued to watch Mr. Bean. The laughter from the show was making her smile.
She did not want to overthink. She would only lose the motivation and happiness in her life if she were to think too much.
Sean finally came down the stairs after a long while, followed by Hodge.
She could not figure out their emotions from just their faces. Both of them were expressionless.
"Do you like watching Mr. Bean?" Sean sat down beside her and asked.
"It's funny and there's nothing better to watch than this," Eli replied. Then, she sat up and switched to another channel.
The channel that she had just switched to was currently running 'Survival in the Wild'. She put down the remote control and stared at the television.
"I remembered that we once had a drilling exercise on a deserted island. We were hiding among the bramble bushes, and there was an actual war outside. In the end, we won," Eli said with a smile.
"It's simply because we have confidence. The purpose of that drill was to lure the enemy out and find the mole," Sean said.
"What about this time?" Eli asked while watching the television.
Sean held Eli's hand and placed it on his lap. With a devilish smile across his face, he said, "You may choose not to believe in Gods or ghosts, but you have to believe in me. Just like I believe that you'll wait for me."
"What should I do if I'm the cause for you to lose everything again?"
Sean smiled and replied, "How would I have nothing? Don't I still have you? In my eyes, you are far more important than being President. So, it's enough for me to just have you."
"Brock looked for me just now and told me that I will be a threat to you as long as I'm alive. He wanted me to kill myself. I asked him to give me a month. I'm smart, right? Stella will save me in half a month. Therefore, we could enjoy our time together freely for the next half a month," Eli said with a smile.
Sean was a little scared. What Eli said just now seemed like a test for him. She might really end things with him if his answers were not satisfying.
"We are husband and wife who share the same mind. Hodge will be in L Country over the next four years because I gave him an undeniable mission. As for Brock..." Sean paused while a piercing glint flashed across his eyes before continuing, "I will not let him live past this year."
"Sean, don't kill anyone because of us. Give them a chance to live. After all, they did all of these for you."
Sean curled his lips up and said, "They were preparing to assassinate me and they even forced my woman to kill herself. They were willing to betray me too. Pray tell, how are all these done for my sake?
Eli could sense that Sean was filled with a murderous aura now. He wanted to punish those who had hurt her.
However, what she wanted was only peace and tranquility.
"Don't kill them unless you no longer have a choice," Eli ordered.
Sean closed his eyes and replied, "Okay"
Eli was feeling groggy as she did not sleep well. She was awakened in the middle of the night by Sean's phone ringing.
Sean furrowed his brows in frustration.
Eli was a light sleeper. Hence, he was really angry when his phone rang. "What is it that you have to call me in the middle of the night?" he answered the phone, his voice laced with hostility.
"Mr. Yaleman, Mr. Yeager has passed away," Brock's subordinate reported.
