Chapter 1015 You Have Good Seduction Skills
Waverly smirked in succession, imitating Joseph's expression to show that he couldn't intimidate her. She said, "Bellamy is a responsible person. He's treating me well now because he reckoned that it was him who harmed me. If he found out that I was bullied by you, he would definitely feel that he had wronged me and treat me even better, don't you think so?"
Joseph grabbed Waverly by her waist and pulled her to his side. He looked down at her, almost gnashing his teeth, and said solemnly, "You're quite the brave one, aren't you?"
Waverly tried to push him away, but she was unable to do so.
She also knew that she was no match for him in terms of strength. She lowered her eyes and asked, "Do you know why people always court death?"
"Why?"
"Because it proves that they are still alive. Ah, it's time to eat. After we eat, you should go wherever you're supposed to. Otherwise, when your mother comes and sees you, she will think that I am trying to seduce her son again," Waverly said provocatively.
Joseph curled his lips and said, "She's right."
"Mr. Mccarthy, have you actually been seduced by me?" Waverly retorted.
Joseph pursed his lips and looked closely at her, but did not answer.
Waverly smiled, "Joshua and Yadriel both said that you liked me, but that can't be true, right?"
"I would only love a woman who loves me in return. Do you love me?" Joseph deflected the question to her.
Waverly sneered, "Do you even care about a woman's love? Do you need it? Compared with your ambitions, that's nothing at all."
Joseph's eyes became colder as he said, "Your head is full of nonsense."
Frustrated, Waverly pushed him away.
Joseph was really capable of making her angry each minute.
He just wouldn't let go of her.
Hayley brought out the dishes and saw that Joseph was bullying Waverly. She slammed the bowls on the table and shouted unhappily, "Time to eat!"
Joseph frowned and looked at Hayley.
Hayley felt his malicious gaze. She carried the dog that was chewing the carpet from the ground, patted its head, and said, "You shouldn't be chewing on that."
Joseph let go of Waverly and stared at Hayley coldly. He said, "You're quite the interesting one."
Whenever Joseph mentioned that something was interesting, his intentions were usually not good.
"She is only fifteen years old. Don't make a move on her," Waverly said defensively.
"I'll wait for another year, and she'll be sixteen."
"A sixteen-year-old is still a minor."
Joseph looked at Waverly and said, "What are you thinking? You don't think I'm interested in her, do you? I don't like her."
It was terrifying to be taken a fancy to by Joseph, wasn't it?
Only then did Waverly let out a sigh of relief. However, Joseph continued, "Yadriel would be fond of this little girl. She's also skilled in martial arts. Both of them can spar with each other."
"Yadriel is already thirty years old, right? Do you think that's appropriate? Hayley is only fifteen," Waverly immediately defended her.
"Keeping her around Yadriel for three years would be a good way to cultivate their relationship. She wouldn't be such a nuisance beside you anyways. Such a young girl like her, if she doesn't learn the ways of the world soon, she won't know who she has offended."
"No, the only person I have with me now is Hayley."
"I'll arrange for someone else obedient enough."
"Between you or me, I think we know who she'll listen to," Waverly was angry. "I only want her by my side."
Joseph's eyes darkened, and his tone became colder, "You're being so insistent because Bellamy hired her for you."
"No, it's because Hayley is nice to me. Although she knew that it's dangerous for her to follow me, and I already asked her to leave, she still came back and said that as long as she is alive, she would not let anything happen to me. For the people around you, how many of them are willing to do the same for you? I don't care who hired her, but the only thing here that I care about is Hayley herself," Waverly said seriously.
"I know, so why are you so agitated? I am okay with this request. Let's eat," Joseph walked towards the table and curled his lips.
Waverly looked back at Hayley.
Hayley was still worried as she held the dog in her arms, looking towards Waverly.
If it was possible, Waverly would really want to safely send Hayley away.
Waverly took a seat at the dining table.
Joseph tasted the vegetables and put down his cutleries.
Waverly glanced at him and tasted a piece of vegetables. They tasted neither bad nor good.
She took another bite, as if she had failed to notice Joseph's gaze, and ate it with relish.
Joseph's facial expression grew even more terrible, and following it, Waverly felt her mood start to brighten. She smiled.
"What are you smiling at?" Joseph asked.
"Nothing," Waverly replied.
"Not even my dog would want to eat this kind of food."
Waverly nodded and simply replied, "Okay."
"How do you manage to stomach this down?" Joseph increased his volume.
"The rich and mighty have eaten too well for too long, so naturally you won't be able to accept simple dishes as these. However, for the less fortunate and those who have starved before, they will eat anything heartily and be thankful for what they have. Even if it's just a piece of bread, they will consume it with satisfaction. Therefore, it is normal that my food cannot compare to that of your chef."
"Make an omelet for me."
"We don't have any eggs."
"Make a sandwich then," Joseph reduced his demand.
Waverly glanced at Joseph. Since there was already a piece of bread in front of him, she could not lie that they had no bread.
She went into the kitchen and made him a simple sandwich. Then, she brought it out and put it in front of him.
Joseph took a bite of it. He showed no dislike towards it at all and even finished eating the entire sandwich.
Waverly looked at him strangely.
Joseph really was a strange man. Although Hayley's dishes tasted much better than hers, he didn't eat the rest of the vegetables but finished the sandwich instead.
After he finished eating, he didn't stay any longer and instantly left.
"What's wrong with that guy? He even wanted to give me to Yadriel. I think Joshua is much better than him anyways," complained Hayley.
Waverly was rendered speechless.
"I'll go to the palace later," Waverly said.
Hayley was happy, "Madam, you'll meet the President?"
Thinking of Bellamy, Waverly nodded with a smile on her face.
"That's great, Madam. I'll dress you up. We should be able to do it in time," Hayley said as she dragged Waverly into the room.
Waverly did not have any objections. However, Hayley was not good at makeup. So, she ended up doing everything by herself.
Hayley chose an orange skirt for her.
It was quite bright.
Waverly put the skirt away, took a black woolen skirt, and wore a camel-coloured windbreaker.
"Madam, this dress is quite old-fashioned," Hayley said discontentedly.
Waverly just gave her a smile. She knew that, but Bellamy preferred modest and mature women. Furthermore, there was a big age gap between them. She was always used to matching his stride, so she said, "That's fine."
"Alright."
Downstairs, it was bustling with people.
When Waverly went down, she heard Qianna, who was sitting on the couch, complained to Melinda, "What's the point of watching a movie? Thomson was the one who wanted us to go there. It's not interesting at all."
"It's an honor to be able to go to the palace to watch a movie. Our family has only fifty tickets in total. If you don't want to go, many people will be willing to take your place," said Melinda solemnly.
Qianna pursed her lips and spotted Waverly coming down from the corner of her eyes. She moved her head closer to Melinda and said in a low voice, "Your daughter, Waverly, really is good at seducing men."
