Chapter 1056 This Was What Love Looked Like
Bellamy's brows furrowed and he continued staring at her side profile, "Let's have a good talk."
Waverly looked back at him, "A talk about what?"
"I'm sorry about Yasmine. I didn't handle it properly, which made you uncomfortable," he said.
Her attitude was imperative for him.
"It's okay, I understand. The choice you made is correct. For me, I didn't gain or lose anything, but for Quill, he suffered much loss. Moreover, this matter can affect the reputation of our country. You don't have to feel sorry. I am not unreasonable. After thinking it through, I will be fine," she smiled.
His eyes were fixated on her.
At this moment, he would rather she was unreasonable. He would rather she scolded him and asked him to compensate her. He didn't want to see her being so sensible. She was calm, which made his heart ache even more.
"I have secretly called Ronaldo. He promised to let you enter the cabinet. You will participate in all charity projects. After a year, he will find an opportunity to give you the honor of Peace Lady," he said.
Waverly fixed her eyes on him and her eyes revealed some emotions, "You have done your best to help me. However, I want to walk the road of the future alone."
Only by taking a path on her own, would she be most at ease when walking the reliable path.
Bellamy's eyes narrowed and he held her hand, "I don't think we should treat each other like strangers."
She did not pull her hand away, "Of course."
"Okay." He put her hand on his knee and didn't want to let go.
Before, he thought that he was a lot older than her and he had never thought about their relationship. He wanted to protect her and take care of her.
Later, he started having feelings for Waverly but due to his age, he felt like they were more like teacher and student than husband and wife.
Later, when they were about to get divorced, he did not want to hold her back. He thought that at her age, she could regain her freedom. He thought that she could live the wonderful life she yearned for and get a love that was more suitable for her.
In fact, he was not sure what he wanted.
They had been together for so long that he had long gotten used to her existence.
After she left, he realized how much he missed her. He missed her so much that he could not fall asleep.
When he knew that she was having a bad time in M Country, he wanted her to come back to him again.
She had said that she had someone she loved. At first, he had believed her, but even until now, he did not see the person she loved. He wanted her to return to his side.
He wanted to be her husband, to have children with her, and to be with them forever. That would be his promise of love.
His heart was heavy. This was a kind of emotion that he had never felt before.
This was what love looked like.
He now completely understood how Stella had felt back then.
She and Jasper had gone through many things and now they were living a happy life.
Unknowingly, the car entered the President's Mansion.
"Bellamy, I want to get out of the car and have a walk," Waverly said.
"Okay, I'll accompany you," Bellamy replied. He got the driver to stop the car.
They got out of the car and slowly walked toward the villa along the road at the door.
She went to the lake and stopped. The area around the lake was full of blooming hyacinths.
In the beginning, she had planted hyacinths beside the chair. Before she left, she had dug all of them out. She didn't expect that Bellamy would replant all of them by the lake.
Her mouth curved into a smile, but her eyes were sparkling with tears.
The hopeless love was in full bloom.
Was this proof that there was hope for her love?
"Do you know how we managed to make the hyacinths bloom for a few years?" He asked her.
She shook her head. She only knew that hyacinths were fragrant and bloomed every season. As long as there was a pot of hyacinths in the room, the whole room would be full of fragrance.
She liked flowers with a strong scent.
"When the flowers bloom, we'll cut off the leaves, trim off the flowers and leave the roots. After putting them under the sun for two days, we'll store them in the refrigerator. If we plant them in November, they'll blossom again," he explained patiently.
"It seems that planting flowers requires expertise. I need to read more books on this field in the future. After I retire, I'll plant a large field of flowers. It will bloom throughout the four seasons," she said.
He laughed, "Once there was a celebrity who gave his wife a villa. The villa was surrounded by flowers. There would be different flowers at different seasons. If you look down from the sky, it's like a necklace. The villa where the lady lives is like a gem on a necklace. I'll give you one like it."
She did not speak. This kind of promise sounded too beautiful, as if it was in a fairy tale. It was dreamy and unreal. It was okay to listen to it, but she should not let herself believe in it.
Not far away, two dogs ran over. One was black while another was white. They were both wagging their tails.
They were ecstatic to see Bellamy.
It was said that dogs were intelligent. When they saw Waverly, they did not bark. The white dog ran to her side and sniffed her scent.
She squatted down and scratched the chin of the white dog, "I heard that your wife is pregnant. You will be a father soon. Congratulations."
Bellamy looked at her and squatted down beside her, "When they give birth to the puppies, I will send one which you like to you."
"It's not like you can't afford to keep them. Why do you have to separate them? Dogs have intelligence and emotions. They will be sad. I have seen a video before. A dog had given birth to three puppies. The owner gave two puppies away. When he was about to give away the last one, he found that the puppy was missing. After searching, he found that the dog was afraid that the last puppy would be sent away. Thus, she hid it," she said.
"Okay, I'll listen to you. I won't separate them. No matter how many puppies, I will raise them. In the future, I will raise more dogs than Stella. I will even find companions for them to expand their family." Bellamy agreed and looked at her with gentle eyes.
"In the past, there was a king. He trained his dogs and formed a dog corps. I think that you can give it a try. In this way, if an outsider invades the President's Mansion, you will be invincible with an army of dogs," Waverly suggested.
"It's a good idea. Then, I will breed them with wolfdogs in the future. I heard that the ancestors of dogs were actually tamed wolves. Over time, they became dogs." He also touched the dog's head.
"It is also possible that the wolf had been in contact with people for a long time and formed feelings for them. It was not willing to leave, so it made itself look more docile," she said meaningfully.
