Chapter 1014 If You Wish, I’ll Marry You
"Waverly, as long as you want to, we can always get married again," Bellamy said in a deep voice.
Waverly failed to believe him, "How could we get married again? My video has been spread everywhere already. A lot of people have already seen it, and there's no undoing that. The only solution to the problem is to use a time machine, but those don't exist, for if they did, people from the future would have travelled to our era a long time ago."
"As long as we get the approval of the public, that's enough. As long as the public supports us to be together, everything will be fine," Bellamy said firmly.
"Why will the public support us being together? You know, those videos seem real enough although they're fake. If I'm with you, how will people view you and what will people say about you? Beckham will definitely take the opportunity to spread rumors then. It'd be too dangerous, so let's not do it," Waverly refused.
"It's okay. For the public, these matters are just mere gossip. They enjoy the wonders of love more. This matter isn't completely black and white. The most important thing is the public opinion towards us. When we get together, we have the support of the majority of the people. We will become unstoppable."
"How can we persuade the public to support us getting together, though? If there was such a way, my live broadcast wouldn't be so ineffective."
"No, your live broadcast was quite effective. Many people believe that you were innocent and got framed. Many people are on the fence about this issue. Waverly, believe me. If we work on this together, there will definitely be good results awaiting us," Bellamy persuaded.
Waverly fell silent. Getting together with Bellamy again was too much of a temptation for her as it seemed too good to be true.
Her heart was throbbing, and she felt like she was experiencing a distraught storm in her head.
"What are you going to do?" Waverly asked nervously.
"At the end of the movie, the actress will give me flowers, and I will give them to you. By then, we will make our intentions with each other known to the public and observe their reactions. As for the international media, I've already settled all the needed public relations," Bellamy said.
"You..." Waverly paused and swallowed. Then, she plucked up her courage and asked, "Do you still want to be with me?"
"I've never thought about not being together with you. We'll face all challenges and overcome them together."
Waverly was incredibly moved. Her body felt hot as blood surged through her veins, making her feel alive yet again.
With his words, Waverly could die without regrets.
Although Waverly would always come in second after Stella, she was still willing to do so.
"Well, then let's fight side by side," Waverly said impulsively, forgetting all rationale and concerns.
"I'll wait for you in the palace," Bellamy said with a smile, the most brilliant smile she had ever seen.
Waverly hurriedly walked to the side of the road and hailed a cab.
After getting into the car, she called Thomson and said, "Uncle Thomson, it's me, Waverly. I'm going to watch the movie at the palace tonight."
"I know. I told you yesterday that we'll gather at the small courtyard by the lake at seven o'clock. Let's go there together," Thomson said.
"Oh, okay," Waverly responded. She had been in a dilemma when Thomson had previously told her about the movie. As a result, she had failed to listen clearly to Thomson's words.
"Remember to eat something. We will go to the palace after having a meal."
"Alright, I'll ask Hayley to prepare dinner. Thank you, Uncle Thomson," Waverly said happily. She couldn't stop laughing, her facial expression constantly bright.
Bellamy actually wanted to be with her again.
Although she couldn't get intimate with him for the rest of her life, she still felt overjoyed and excited at the thought of being able to accompany him.
Her mobile phone rang again. Waverly saw that Joseph was calling her. In an instant, her smile froze, and her eyes dimmed.
Despite being really afraid of Joseph, she still picked up.
"You dared to hang up on my call just now?" Joseph asked in a tone full of sarcasm.
"Yes, I dared to do so. I was busy just now. What's up?" Waverly asked bluntly.
"Were you really busy, or were you just talking to Bellamy?" Joseph asked pointedly.
If it weren't for the anti-spyware function in her mobile phone, Waverly would really suspect Joseph had installed a surveillance application in her phone.
It seemed like Joseph knew everything, and nothing could escape his sight.
However, although Joseph might have guessed the truth, as long as she did not admit it, he could not be entirely certain that he was right.
"You're really overthinking this too much. What else do you want? I'm going back to the Mccarthy family now. Uncle Thomson said that he has fifty tickets and asked me to watch the movie tonight," Waverly changed the topic.
Joseph sneered and hung up on the call.
His one sneer made Waverly uncomfortable and slightly worried that Joseph might pull something again. After all, Bellamy was still in M Country, and if Joseph wanted to kill him, it would be easy for him to do so.
She couldn't let anything bad happen to Bellamy.
She braced herself and called Joseph again.
However, Joseph did not answer and instantly hung up on the call.
Waverly took a deep breath and called again.
One, two, three...When the dial tone almost finished, only then did Joseph pick up the call and ask in a cold voice, "Yes?"
Waverly was silent for a moment, then clenched her fists and asked, "Do you want to have dinner together in the evening?"
"No." After saying that, Joseph hung up.
Waverly was dumbfounded. She looked out of the window and realized that it was getting dark. She went back to the small courtyard by the lake and opened the door. She was shocked when she saw that Joseph was there.
"You..." She remembered that Joseph had just rejected her request to have dinner together. If so, why was he here? Had she misheard him?
Joseph looked at the watch on his wrist and said, "It's five forty now. You have thirty minutes to eat and you still have to put on make-up after that. Thomson said that he'll meet us here at seven o'clock. We'll set off at twenty minutes past seven later. You'll have to follow my car then. Do you understand?"
Waverly looked at Hayley and said, "Let's prepare for dinner."
Hayley nodded and glanced at Joseph before asking Waverly in astonishment, "Is he also eating here?"
"That's right."
"I didn't cook," said Hayley.
"We'll just eat whatever you cook," Waverly said and picked up the dog who was chewing the carpet.
The dog struggled and tried to chew the carpet again.
Waverly could only let the dog go.
As soon as the dog was released, it went back to chewing the carpet again. As it failed to chew it up, it retreated a few steps and started barking at it.
Joseph frowned and said, "The dog was smart when I first bought it. Despite being with you for only a short time, it has already become stupid."
Waverly was rendered speechless.
"That means that sometimes your guesses can be wrong too," Waverly said and went to wash her hands, preparing to eat.
"What did Bellamy say to you?" Joseph asked out of the blue.
Waverly's back stiffened and she became more alert. She replied, "I think you know the answer better than I do."
Joseph smirked and came behind Waverly, looking at her in the mirror. He said, "Waverly, if Bellamy were to find out that you've fooled around with me many times, would he still want you?"
