Chapter 816 Can I Turn Back Time?
Stella nodded. "It's very delicious, and it has a different taste from king crabs. Try some for yourself. It'll taste even better when you taste the flavors yourself."
Bellamy watched their interaction and smiled. "Do you guys still go to that island? Now seems like a good time to go."
"Let's settle our matters here first, then we'll take a vacation. We'll even bring Mom and Sandro along," Jasper said.
"Are you not planning to invite me?" Bellamy asked in disappointment.
"You've been so busy recently. You wouldn't have time even if I were to invite you. Didn't you say that you're going to accompany your wife to M Country?" Jasper asked.
There was a flash of emotion in Bellamy's eyes. "Is there wine? Crabs go well when paired with white wine. A gulp of cold wine with a mouthful of warm crab is the best."
"Don't you need to go to work in the afternoon? You are now the President, your every move is being scrutinized," Jasper reminded.
"I haven't had time to rest at all ever since I became President. Today, I'm gathering with my family, I think I am allowed to take half a day off," Bellamy said sadly.
"That position you possess is the highest peak of power, but the stress that comes with it is also very high. It's a give-and-take I suppose. Just be sure to make a good name for yourself and live with no regrets. I'll go grab some wine," Jasper said. He then got up and went to the basement to get some wine.
Bellamy looked at Stella calmly. "If I were to say that I regretted my initial decision, is there any pill I could take to turn back time?"
Stella had already forgotten most of the things of the past. She did not remember Elvis, Jasper or Bellamy. She had no clue what she had said to Bellamy before.
"There is no such thing as turning back time. If you want to go back, you have to let go of your obsession. It's not impossible. However, even if I asked you to let go, you wouldn't be able to either, right?" Stella said softly.
"I miss the days when I was working missions. I had ambition and aspirations. I wanted to be the President and avenge my parents," Bellamy sighed.
"Now is the time for you to avenge your parents. You've already succeeded in becoming the President," Stella said, continuing his sentence.
"Yes, but my heart is empty. It was not difficult to become the President. I just followed my plans and eventually reached the top. However, it's difficult to hold on to this position. I'm afraid that even the slightest mistake will result in me being imprisoned for two years or more, just like Sean."
"It is because you are the President that you couldn't act like an ordinary person. You need to be strict with yourself and remain disciplined. You must always think twice when it comes to your words or your decisions. After all, with great power comes great responsibility. God is fair to everyone," Stella sighed.
"Now I understand why Jasper gave up his position as the President. He clearly knew what he wanted and what the future would hold. He didn't chase higher pursuits and instead, was happy with what he had. Hence, in the end, he managed to get you," Bellamy looked at Stella deeply.
"That was because of your help too, your support has allowed me to find my happiness in life. We are a family, so Stella and I will be here to help you out too," Jasper came back with the white wine.
Stella went into the kitchen and took three small glasses. Suzi was still cooking. "Mom, come and eat. There are so many crabs, those alone are enough to fill us all up."
"You guys go ahead, I'll be there soon," Suzi said with a smile.
She didn't like being in the kitchen when she was younger, and she disliked cooking.
However, now that she was older, and her son was not around, she felt happy even just being able to cook for him.
Stella didn't persuade her anymore. She walked out with the glasses in hand.
Jasper popped the bottle open and poured out three glasses of wine.
Bellamy raised his glass. "With this glass of wine, I wish you and Stella a lifetime of happiness, to grow old together healthily and happily."
Jasper picked up his wineglass and clinked it with Bellamy's. Stella also followed Jasper and Bellamy's toasts.
"You too. Be healthy and safe for the rest of your life," Jasper said as he gulped down a mouthful of wine.
He filled up Bellamy's glass once more.
"The second toast, I hope you and Stella will be together forever. You guys should have a few more babies. Such good genes, and yet so little children, seems like a waste," Bellamy joked as he drank the wine in his glass.
Stella realized that although Bellamy and Jasper looked exactly the same, their personalities were completely different.
Bellamy talked a lot and liked to smile. He always had a smile on his face and he would still wear a smile even when he was sad.
Meanwhile, Jasper rarely spoke. He didn't like to smile and he would always keep a straight face. Even if something very funny happened, the most he would do was lift the corners of his mouth slightly.
"Let's eat the crabs first. We shouldn't drink too much wine, it's bad for our stomachs. Let me check if there are any snacks in the fridge," Stella said. She got up and went to the refrigerator to see if there were any snacks to go with the drinks.
Bellamy's smile widened. "Must be nice to have such a lovely girl nagging you."
"Bellamy, are things not going well with you and Waverly?" Jasper guessed.
"My feelings towards her are hard to explain. Let's not talk about it. Look at the crabs, they look great," Bellamy changed the topic.
"If you really like them, I could buy some fresh ones for you tomorrow from my comrade."
"It's fine. Crabs are only nice when you have them with others. It wouldn't be as enjoyable if I were to eat it alone. If I ever feel like eating crabs again, I'll come and eat it at your place. Flying here is easy anyway," Bellamy said as he drank another glass of wine.
Stella found some nachos and salsa in the fridge. She poured them out into a bowl and served them.
"Stella, you believe in fortune-telling, right? Jasper and I look the same, and we were born the same way. However, why is it that our fates are so different?" Bellamy asked with a smile.
"Your names are different. Names play a big role in your fate. Hence, a lot of people consult fortune-tellers before they give their child a name. I do know the famous Master Olgic. I have his phone number. If you want, you could ask him to read your fortune for you," Stella said jokingly.
"Yes, yes. You should contact him now and get him to read my fortune. If his reading is accurate, I'll give him the honor of being the nation's fortune teller."
Stella paused. "Are you being serious?"
"Of course not, it's a joke. But I'm serious about getting my fortune read," Bellamy replied.
Stella was thinking about returning to the country, so perhaps she should give Master Olgic a call anyway. After all, they got along well and they had similar outlooks on life.
She called Master Olgic.
The call was connected.
"Stella, I've been meaning to call you, but you called me first. It must be destiny," Master Olgic said with a smile.
"Yes, it must be. Where are you now?" Stella asked.
"I've returned to my secular life today. I rented a house and am going to find a job tomorrow."
Stella was stunned, and she said in surprise, "What do you mean?"
