Chapter 1090 Idiot
Joseph locked his ice-cold gaze on her, while Waverly also looked back at him without any sign of weakness.
Those with discerning eyes could tell at a glance that they were quarreling with each other.
Joseph smiled, standing up.
Waverly was surprised so she straightened her back.
She had never thought that Joseph would come over. He was someone who was a hundred times prouder and more arrogant than her.
He sat next to her and asked, "Why did you call me over?"
Waverly was dumbfounded.
She hadn't wanted to call him over at all. He was the one who had asked her to go over to him. She had been upset upon hearing his order, so she asked him to come over instead.
"Why did you call me over?" Waverly asked in the same way as he did.
Joseph suddenly got closer to her, and as fast as lightning, he kissed her on the lips.
Waverly subconsciously pushed him back.
He pressed against the back of her head, taking a deep breath. He said unhappily, "Why are you dodging me? Haven't I already tasted every inch of you?"
"Joseph!" Raising her volume, Waverly shouted at him.
"Your master is here," Joseph's volume was even higher than hers.
"D*mn you," Waverly pushed him hard.
Joseph hadn't expected that at all, so he fell into the river upon the force.
Waverly had a bad feeling so she quickly grabbed onto his arm.
Joseph smirked as his eyes lit up.
Waverly realized something was wrong, but it was too late for her to let go. She was pulled into the water along with him.
Fortunately, it was summer in Mexiland in April, so the water wasn't too cold.
It was just that she had gotten a shock along with him. She wanted to head upstream, but Joseph grabbed her leg on purpose and pulled her down.
Waverly frowned and opened her eyes in the water. She felt sourness and bitterness, along with a little pain.
She quickly swam upwards. When she was about to reach the surface, she was dragged down by Joseph yet again.
After three times, she was running out of breath and had no strength left. Watching herself getting further away from the surface, Joseph appeared in front of her with a bright smile.
Upon seeing him, Waverly was so furious that she let out her last breath. What was left was only pain from the lack of oxygen. When she was deprived of oxygen to the point of losing her mind, she opened her mouth and water came in.
If the water entered the organs and lungs, she would die of suffocation.
Joseph took the opportunity to kiss her on the lips, giving her oxygen.
Waverly had no time to think. She desperately sucked in the air, but it was still not enough.
Joseph paddled the water with his hand, the two of them went up to the surface.
Waverly immediately took a big breath.
"Do you still want to push me away?" asked Joseph as he wore a sinister expression.
Waverly shot him a glare as she said, "Just die."
She swam towards the boat.
Once again, Joseph grabbed a hold of her leg and drifted downwards.
Waverly was dumbstruck.
Joseph had a bad temper and was also stubborn, like a child who wanted to eat candy. He would keep crying until he got what he wanted.
He had been spoiled rotten since he was a child. He was so arrogant that he failed to care about other people's feelings at all.
Waverly felt extremely annoyed, but there was nothing she could do about it.
She didn't want to get tormented until she ran out of breath again, so she didn't struggle, but swam towards him instead.
Joseph was surprised.
Waverly directly kissed his lips, taking his breath away.
Joseph looked at her in bewilderment.
Waverly's eyes were closed, so she did not see the confusion on his face, nor did she see the strange blush.
After recovering from his shock, he paddled the water with his hand and the two of them floated on top of the water again.
The people around them applauded, whistled, even threw flowers at them.
Waverly pulled back, looking at him.
Joseph raised his eyebrows and licked his lips, looking a little unsatisfied. He said, "Not bad, you're quite a good student."
No longer paying him attention, she climbed up the boat with the help of the boatman.
With a faint smile, he went up the boat as he looked at her, "Are you trying to look like a panda? You have serious dark circles."
Waverly pursed her lips and did not speak.
She had put on smokey makeup and applied layers of mascara on her eyelashes when she went out. However, all of it had been ruined at that moment.
She didn't care how ugly she looked in front of Joseph.
Seeing that her clothes were wet and clinging onto her body, which accentuated her figure, the look in Joseph's eyes changed. He took off his suit jacket and threw it on her.
Waverly frowned.
"How dare you frown at me. Your clothes are too transparent. You're about to be exposed," Joseph said, turning his face away.
Waverly put on his wet suit jacket.
He was the one who had purposely pulled her into the water.
She took out his cell phone and asked, "Can your cell phone still be used?"
"Of course, it's waterproof," Joseph said.
Waverly grinned, stretching her hand outside the boat.
Joseph knew what she was going to do. So, he warned, "If you throw my cell phone away, I promise I'll make you regret it."
Waverly fixed her eyes on him as she loosened her grip. With a thud, his cell phone fell into the water.
He pursed his lips and asked, "Do you want to jump down, or should I throw you down instead?"
"Joseph," Waverly called his name, smiling. "I've known you for so long, yet I've never given you a present. I'll buy a new phone for you to replace that phone I threw out just now."
There was a slight change in Joseph's eyes, becoming meaningful and serene as he locked his gaze on her.
Crossing her arms on her chest, Waverly leaned against the pillar and looked back at him, not afraid in the slightest.
Joseph smiled smugly. Looking at the shoreline, he said, "See that phone just now? I'll give a million dollars to anyone who helps me find it."
The people on the shore listened, then they looked at each other. No one moved.
They thought Joseph was playing another prank, so no one took him seriously.
Waverly smiled, removed her bracelet and put it on the table. She said to the people on the shore, "Whoever helps me pick up the phone that I threw just now, I'll give them this bracelet."
As soon as she finished speaking, their boatman jumped down first.
Seeing the boatman jump down, everyone knew that she was being honest. Some people who were good at swimming took off their clothes and jumped into the water as well.
Joseph's expression turned even darker.
Waverly laid down on the table. She held her chin and tapped the table rhythmically with her other hand as she looked at the people in the river.
After a while, the boatman actually managed to pick Joseph's mobile phone up, handing it to him respectfully.
Joseph didn't take it, but he locked his eyes on Waverly instead.
Waverly took Joseph's mobile phone and placed the bracelet into the boatman's hand.
The boatman was about to speak but stopped when he looked at Joseph. He stammered, "What about the one million dollars..."
Joseph was full of rage.
Waverly's bracelet was only ten thousand dollars at most, yet his one million dollars had convinced no one. Everyone who had jumped to pick up the phone, especially the boatman, enraged him.
He swept his sharp gaze over the boatman and asked, "Are you talking about getting one million slaps?"
The boatman was shocked as he replied, "No, no, I don't want it anymore."
Waverly took out a napkin from her bag and wiped the phone clean, putting it on the table. She looked at his frosty face and pinned her gaze on him like a nail.
"Was that fun for you?" Joseph asked.
Waverly nodded and replied, "It was quite a sight."
Joseph took the mobile phone and said, "You not only lost a necklace, but also a mobile phone. What were you trying to achieve?"
Waverly rested her chin on her hand, gazing at the table. She said thoughtfully, "Seems like I've suffered quite a loss."
"Idiot," Joseph spat out.
Waverly looked at him, grinning. The meaning behind her smile was unclear.
