Chapter 826 Jasper Was Quite Cute When He Was Jealous

The man walked towards her with a faint smile, looking even more charming.
"I was wondering if I might run into you. Lo and behold, here you are," Frederick said as he looked at Stella with his burning gaze.
"I brought my son out to buy some stuff," Stella said. She looked towards Sandro, her eyes gentle and benevolent.
Frederick followed Stella's gaze and saw Sandro. "He got the good genes from both you and Jasper. He's very cute."
"Yes. Anyway, I'll be going now," Stella said politely.
"Stella, let's have a meal together," Frederick extended an invitation.
"Uh..." Stella hesitated. She couldn't remember who this man in front of her was, but it was obvious that they knew each other. It didn't seem like he had any bad intentions, so it wouldn't be very nice of her to reject him.
"Are you worried that Jasper will be jealous?" Frederick asked as he noticed Stella's hesitation.
"He and I already have two children. Jealousy isn't in our vocabulary."
"Let's go then. I have something to discuss with you," Frederick added as he took over her bag of groceries.
Stella didn't know how to refuse him.
"I drove here, so we could just put my stuff in the car. I saw a restaurant nearby on my way here. Let's eat there," Stella suggested.
"Okay," Frederick placed the groceries in Stella's trunk.
They walked to the restaurant near the supermarket. The restaurant had a self-service buffet of complimentary fruits, sides, and puddings.
Anthea took care of Sandro while Stella ordered their food. Feeling Frederick's eyes on her, she felt a little uncomfortable.
She looked up at him reluctantly. "What were you going to say to me?"
"Beckham wants me to join his campaign, and he offered me very good conditions."
Stella was still unclear about their previous relationship. "What do you plan to do then?"
"I want to know what you think about it," Frederick said in a deep voice.
Stella suddenly felt a bout of pressure overwhelming her.
His words were too ambiguous, and it seemed to imply something. His burning gaze was especially aggressive.
Stella suddenly remembered that Micheal had mentioned that her ex-husband's name was Frederick.
Immediately, she felt that she had made the wrong decision to come here to eat with him.
"You know, the current President is Jasper's older brother, Bellamy. Beckham is raised by the Yaleman family. To a larger extent, he is Bellamy's enemy. I am Jasper's wife. What do you think I would want you to do?" Stella asked.
"I'll do whatever you ask me to do."
"What about yourself? What do you want to do?" Stella asked.
Frederick gazed at Stella and remained silent.
Stella stood up.
"I want to help you do what you want to do."
"No thanks. I'd feel burdened if you were to do that. After all, whatever we had was in the past. It's not right for me to keep you hanging. You should go find a new life for yourself," Stella said as she headed for the door.
Anthea, who was holding Sandro, immediately followed her.
Someone stopped Stella at the door.
Stella turned back and glanced at Frederick. She raised the corner of her mouth and her eyes grew cold. "What are you trying to do?"
"I mean no harm. Let's have a meal together and I'll send you back."
Stella looked at Frederick, and complicated thoughts flashed through her mind. After all, she didn't want to make an enemy for Bellamy, so she sat back down.
"I tried my best. I even dated two girlfriends and I wanted to have a good start. But I was already tired of them within a month. I went to see a therapist, and the doctor told me that it's because I haven't let go of my past. I need you to give me closure. You have to help me."
"I would never, in my life, betray Jasper, nor do I plan on leaving him again. And I most definitely would not do anything to hurt him. Love is not possessing the other person but rather wishing them happiness. If you want to have me so badly, then it's not love, it's just unwillingness to let me go."
Frederick laughed bitterly. "I truly am unwilling. I've been blaming myself all this time. If I had known earlier that I am in love with you, I wouldn't have lost you."
"What's done is done. You can't turn back time. You should move on."
"Okay," Frederick answered and smiled faintly.
Stella didn't expect him to agree so quickly. She was lost for words. She picked up a cup of water on the table and said, "I hope you find your happiness."
"So, you'd still want me to leave, right?" Frederick locked onto her, looking at every single one of her facial features with a reluctant expression.
Stella thought for a moment and nodded.
Frederick lowered his head in disappointment and said sadly, "I understand. Let's eat. After that, I'll decline Beckham's offer and leave A Country."
Seeing his compliance, Stella was starting to feel bad. "I'm sure you'll be able to find a girl whom you like and who also likes you back."
He shook his head and said, "It's just karma I suppose. I'm a bit tired of love. Having a meal like this with an old friend is much more enjoyable."
Stella did not say anything. She didn't want to say too much and come off as being too intimate with him. However, she would feel inexplicably guilty if she was too cold to him. Hence, it would be better for her to just not say anything at all.
Fortunately, the steaks they had ordered were served quickly. Stella lowered her head and started cutting up her steak.
Frederick quickly cut up his steak and handed the plate over to Stella.
Stella smiled and refused, "I like to cut it myself. It tastes better that way."
"I see," Frederick didn't force her and enjoyed his steak quietly.
Stella suddenly felt a subtle change in the atmosphere and she turned her head towards the door.
Dressed in a military uniform, Jasper walked over with his men. His face was cool and expressionless. He did not bother to ask as he pulled out a chair and sat down. He stared at Frederick firmly.
Frederick calmly finished eating. He put down his fork and said to Jasper with a smile, "Long time no see."
"I have no intentions of seeing you," Jasper said coldly.
"You are still as cruel as before. I am having a reunion with Stella, and we're done," Frederick found it boring that Jasper did not respond. He said to the waiter, "Bill, please."
"You don't have to pay for my woman. I'll pay the bill. I won't be seeing you off. This is my territory. Don't ever come here again in the future," Jasper said directly. Then, he stood up and grabbed Stella's hand to leave.
Anthea picked Sandro up and followed along hurriedly.
Frederick looked at Jasper leaving with Stella in his hand with drooping eyes.
If he had taken her seriously from the start, he would definitely be the one holding Stella's hand now. But now, he was alone.
Inside the car.
Jasper had a frigid expression. He was silent as Stella gazed at him.
He hadn't even changed out of his uniform, which showed how anxious he was as he rushed over here.
She should not have had dinner with her ex-husband. "You know I have no past memories, so I didn't know that he is my ex-husband, I'm sorry."
Jasper looked at her and held her hand. "I'm not angry with you. It's my fault that I didn't go with you today. My work was important but it wasn't urgent. I should have accompanied you."
Stella smiled sweetly and rested her head on Jasper's shoulder. She looked at the road ahead and said, "He told me that Beckham went to look for him. It seems that Beckham is quite ambitious."
"It's normal for a royal. I think he has probably done many things we don't know about during the time we disappeared," Jasper said thoughtfully.
