Chapter 960 Who Do You Truly Love?
After returning to M Country, Joseph had told her about a lot of things.
He was the one who told her about how her mother had been murdered by Melinda, that Hayley was Bellamy's subordinate, and so on. Everything she heard was from him, and if he hadn't told her, she wouldn't have known.
Following him out of the door, she was greeted by the table filled with food.
Waverly took a seat and buried her head in the food.
Leaning his head against his hand, he observed her thoughtfully, as if he was waiting for her to finish eating.
She didn't push him to tell her the news immediately. When he mentioned that he was going to tell her something, he would definitely keep his word.
There was no need for her to rush him.
Ten minutes later, she was done eating. Putting down the fork, she turned to him and asked, "What was it you wanted to say?"
"Bellamy is coming back," he answered.
She fixed her eyes on him as a million thoughts rushed through her mind. "What's he back for?"
"Besides inviting him back for a project, the king probably wants to give him a woman. Especially after seeing how you've cheated on him for so long," he disclosed faintly.
She frowned and studied his face closely.
In return, he looked at her straight in the eye and added, "If I'm right, he should be back next week."
"So? Did the king request my presence?" She asked.
"Thomson has you so well-protected that even the king himself didn't dare to ask for you to make a public apology. If he was to anger the Mccarthy family, that would be another problem for him."
"So, why did you tell me he was coming back?" Waverly was on guard.
Joseph stared at her blankly, but there was a layer of ice in his eyes. "You even called out for him in your sleep. I'm telling you he's coming back so that you'll be happy, but you'd better not do anything inappropriate. If you do, I'll make sure you regret it."
"Doesn't thinking so much make your head hurt?" She responded to him sarcastically.
"And which head are you referring to?"
She didn't know how to reply to him.
She didn't want to talk to him any longer. This man just had too much hormones raging inside him.
Seeing that she was silent, he smirked. "I see you understood what I meant, and you're not too dumb then."
"I'm done eating, and I wish to go home now. You may send me back," she commented coldly.
Hearing this, Joseph turned to Yadriel and ordered, "Send her back."
Yadriel nodded his head obediently.
Following this, Waverly rose from her seat and marched right out of the door, not even turning back once to look at him.
As Joseph watched her leave, he put down the spoon in his hand.
He had completely lost his appetite.

Inside the car.
Waverly leaned against the window as she stared outside in a daze. Before she knew it, she had arrived at the Mccarthy family's house.
When she got out of the car, Hayley rushed out frantically and greeted her in a concerned tone, "Madam, you're finally back."
"Any news from Bellamy?" Waverly questioned.
"I haven't reported anything to the President yet," Hayley informed as she blushed in embarrassment.
"Just say that I'm back, and that I look fine. Say that I seem like I'm in a good mood," Waverly instructed.
"Huh?" Hayley couldn't grasp what was going on. "You were abducted by Joseph yesterday, and if I was to say that you're in a good mood, then the President would think you've fallen for Joseph."
The look in Waverly's eyes darkened in disappointment.
At this point, all she wanted was for Bellamy to stay as far away from her as possible. She wanted him to erase her from his life completely.
If she were happy and safe, he would feel at ease.
Since that was the case, then she would be happy and safe.
"Just report it like that," she directed.
Following her orders, Hayley reported back to Bellamy with the exact same words.
After returning to her room, Waverly washed her face and put on some makeup. As she finished up, her phone rang.
When she saw that Bellamy was video calling her, she wanted to break down into tears.
As soon as Hayley had reported to him, he took the initiative to call her instantly. This meant that he still felt concerned about her.
And this was precisely why she didn't want to drag him into any of this.
Overwhelmed by all the emotions, she could feel her vision start to turn cloudy. Waverly shut her eyes tight and gathered her emotions. A few seconds later, her eyes flew open. She quickly put on a smile, answered the call, and greeted him with a grin. "Bellamy."
He also smiled back at her. "I'll be back in Country M next week, and we can meet when the time comes."
She didn't say anything. If they met up and somebody found out, it was going to be another big issue.
She tried to ask as lightly as possible, "What are you doing in Country M?"
"Your king invited me over. It's about Z Country, and he wants us to work together," he revealed. He didn't conceal any part of his assignment from her as he trusted her with his whole heart.
"That's good. Not only are you helping the Harington family, but you're also putting a stop to Joseph. Moreover, he also wants the resources of Z Country. The Lancaster Army is actually under him, so you have to stop them," she informed him with a serious face.
"Now that I'm back, I'll discuss this matter with the Harington family. After all, the Harington family's problem with the Mccarthy family is far more serious than mine. Well, I guess it's true when they say there's no such thing as being friends forever in this world, and vice versa for enemies too. It looks like there's always the chance of foes becoming allies under desperate circumstances," Bellamy remarked meaningfully.
Waverly was staring at him with admiration.
To her, Bellamy was the king of her world. He was the most magnificent man to walk this earth.
When she heard his words, she couldn't help feeling a sense of warmth spread over her chest.
However, because he held such an important position in her heart, she was even more afraid of him falling to his death.
"That sounds about right. If I can get Uncle Thomson to see through Joseph's plan, then I'm sure he'll be on board. For some reason, he's been hypnotized by Joseph. He's a man of principles, and he treasures friendship over everything," she added thoughtfully.
Looking at her, a flash of light flickered across Bellamy's eyes. He took a deep breath and sighed, "Waverly, you've lost weight. How have you been recently?"
She forced a smile. "I'm fine, and Uncle Thomson is righteous and clear-minded. He knows that I didn't do anything wrong, so he helped me a lot. I've been permitted to remain in the Mccarthy family. As for losing weight, it's intentional. The trend these days is to have a sharp jaw. Plus, the skinnier the face, the more energetic I look."
"You told me before that you went back to Country M for the person you loved the most. Have you found him now?"
Hearing this, she hesitated to answer.
If she said she did, Bellamy would ask her who it was.
If she didn't, Hayley was already reporting to him, who she met daily. One day, he was going to find out that she was lying.
If she mentioned that it was Joseph, Bellamy wouldn't believe her when she spoke so many ill things about him earlier.
"There's been a sign of him," she replied with a faint smile.
As she lied through her teeth, she felt guilty, and her line of sight dropped to the ground. However, she realized that she would look even more guilty if she avoided his gaze, so she raised her head and continued, "I'm planning to go over to my Uncle Thomson's place for a while. I'll snoop around for anything. You should go ahead with your day. Let's talk again soon."
"You should eat more. You'd still be pretty even if you're chubby," Bellamy comforted her.
His words made her smile. Whenever anyone complimented her, she didn't care if they were telling the truth.
However, when the compliment came from Bellamy, it felt like a flower had bloomed in her ice-cold heart. Hearing his words, she could feel it flourishing even more.
