Chapter 1125 I Am Your Subordinate
"Bellamy can marry whoever he wants to marry. Who he will marry, when he will marry and what happens next, has nothing to do with me. It's fine if I receive news of him, or if I don't. Since we have divorced, he has his own life and I also have my own. I have been abandoned by him, so I should not entangle myself with him," Waverly said calmly.
Boris said, "Alright then. I am your subordinate, so I will do whatever you ask me to do."
Waverly looked at Agnes, "How about the man from yesterday?"
"He lied. His wife left with the child, and he lives alone. There's a little girl living opposite him. She has a congenital heart disease and lives with her mother. It's said that her father has left her. She is very pitiful," Agnes said.
"Send a hundred thousand dollars to the mother and daughter," Waverly said.
Astonished, Agnes reminded her, "There are many people like them in the world. You can't afford to pay each of them a hundred thousand dollars."
"I'm just trying to do whatever I can, even though my ability is limited. Just do it," Waverly said.
They went to the place where they had gone the previous day to eat.
Waverly had a lot, eating twice as much of her usual appetite.
After eating and resting for a bit, they drank some tea. Daydreaming for a bit, she called Thomas.
"Thomas, hello. I'm Waverly Martell. I want to have dinner with you tonight. Do you have time for that?" Waverly asked with a smile.
"Waverly Martell? Have I met you before? Do we know each other?" asked Thomas suspiciously. He looked at the unknown number on his phone once again.
"When I came to visit with my ex-husband Bellamy, I met you in a meeting. This time, I want to negotiate something on behalf of M Country. I want to meet you in the name of the Mccarthy family and talk about cooperating for resources," Waverly said.
Once she mentioned Bellamy, M Country and Mccarthy family, Thomas immediately knew who she was.
"Oh, I remember now. You are that beautiful girl. Okay then, where are you staying?"
"I'm staying in Mahaba Hotel."
"I will pick you up for dinner when I get off work this evening."
"Alright. See you in the evening," Waverly said and hung up the phone.
She said to Boris, "When I see Thomas tonight, I'm going to give him a bottle of red wine as a gift. It's best if it's a special kind. Do you have any ideas?"
"There are a lot of famous wines at Welch's, many that can't be bought anywhere else. I will go and negotiate with him later. What's your price range?" Boris asked.
"We haven't officially cooperated yet, so there is no need for the wine to be too expensive. However, if it's too cheap, Thomas will look down on us. What do you think the range will be?" Waverly asked.
"I have a friend who runs a wine factory in his family. They plant their own grapes and make their own wine. It's not a famous brand, but it tastes much better than famous ones, especially the wine made by his grandfather which is more than fifty years old now. In my opinion, Welch is a wine enthusiast, so he will definitely be able to know whether a wine is good or not.
"Okay, then. Buy some wine from your friend for me. Give him a fair price," Waverly said.
"Okay, I'll do it now."
After Waverly assigned a mission to both Boris and Agnes, she went to visit the forest park by herself.
Mexiland's forest park was quite decent. Although it was partially man-made, it had taken more than a hundred years to build it. The whole forest park was preserved incredibly well.
There were swamps, wetlands and all kinds of animals and insects in the park.
She was tired after walking, so she sat down on the bench. There were some pillars behind the bench.
Leaning against the pillar, she looked at the quiet and peaceful scenery, emptying her mind.
After some time, her phone rang.
She saw that it was Boris' call, so she answered.
"I have already bought the wine and it's in my room. Agnes has also finished her task. Where are you? We will come to you now," Boris said.
It was almost five o'clock when Waverly looked at the time on her mobile phone.
"I'm in the forest park. I'm going to the road now and will see you later," Waverly hung up on the call and walked forward. She vaguely saw a suspicious figure hiding behind a tree.
Waverly frowned, pretended not to notice it and walked forward.
After a while, she arrived at the side of the road. As she touched up her make up using a mirror, she deliberately sneaked a glance behind her using the mirror's reflection. She saw that the man, who was wearing a cap, was still following her.
She sat down on a chair. Driving a rented car, Boris stopped in front of her.
Agnes got out respectfully and opened the back door.
Waverly got in the car and said in a low voice, "I was followed. Find a way to catch the people who followed me."
Closing the door, Agnes said, "Okay, leave it to me."
Boris drove off first and Agnes did not get in the car.
Boris calmly drove the car to the entrance of Mahaba Hotel.
Waverly got out of the car and walked into the hotel.
The man wearing a cap was in a car, waiting outside.
Agnes suddenly appeared in front of him and knocked on the door.
The man in the cap looked at her warily and lowered the car window, "What's your problem?"
Agnes put on a bright smile, "My mistress doesn't like being followed. You are the problem."
As soon as she finished her words, the man in the cap caught a whiff of a pungent smell. Darkness came over his eyes and he fainted.
Agnes made a phone call and said with a smile, "It's settled. When will you come down?"
"I'll leave this matter to you. Find out who was tracking Madam. I won't be coming down for the time being. I need to ensure Madam's safety," Boris said.
"Got it. I'll take the man away. Don't worry about me while you two eat. I'll return to the hotel once I've extracted the info from him. Ciao," Agnes said hurriedly. She hung up on the call, threw the man in the cap into the passenger seat and drove away.
Waverly returned to her room.
"Agnes has caught the person and will interrogate him. She'll inform you once she's done," Boris reported to her.
"Okay." Waverly glanced at the time, "I don't know when Thomas will come over. It might take a bit of time for me to eat with him. Why don't you and Agnes eat first? Don't wait for me."
"It's alright. We ate a little too much at noon, so we aren't hungry now. Madam, you don't have to worry about us. Sometimes, Agnes and I won't even have anything to eat for a week. Our current life is considered quite comfortable," Boris comforted her.
"If you have any requests, feel free to mention them. I've said that I'll treat you two as comrades," Waverly said firmly.
Boris's eyes paused for a moment and a weird expression flashed across his face, "I have one request. Earlier this morning, Joseph came back and entered your room. I suspect that Joseph may know about the matter concerning you and Bellamy."
"The matter between Bellamy and me? How do you know about that?" Waverly grew even more suspicious.
