Chapter 1030 What Do You Think Will Happen?
"Don't worry, it's not a big deal." Waverly handed the phone to Hayley and took her bag, "Since you are here, let's go to the bank to withdraw some money."
"Okay, Madam." Hayley followed her.
Waverly went in to withdraw money.
Her cell phone rang and she dug it out of her bag. It seemed that it was still from Joseph, so she frowned and answered it.
"Where are you?" He asked in a cold voice.
"I'm buying groceries outside and now I'm withdrawing money from the bank. I will be going back to cook. What's the matter?" She asked.
"Why didn't you answer the phone?" He said in a gloomy voice.
"I didn't hear it. What's wrong?" She replied calmly.
"Haha." He sneered, which was very sarcastic, as if he had figured something out. "I have found out who shot you. I believe you are very interested in knowing."
She thought of the man who raised his gun at her, but he did not shoot because of Yazoo's protection.
However, Joseph's tone was full of schadenfreude, gloominess and indescribable weirdness.
In her heart, she didn't feel very comfortable. She asked, "Who is it?"
"I will tell you after lunch. Otherwise, I don't think you would be in the mood to cook well." He teased and hung up the phone.
She had a feeling of fear in her heart. She withdrew the money.
Hayley saw that Waverly's expression was not good. She asked worriedly, "Madam, are you okay?"
Waverly shook her head. She couldn't say what it was for, but she always felt uneasy and frightened.
Joseph's tone...
Was the person who wanted to assassinate her the one she least expected?
Could it be Bellamy?
That's impossible!
That thought was rejected by her. Even if he was someone whom she had least expected, she still firmly believed that he would never assassinate her.
She and Hayley went back by car. Joseph was not there.
She peeled the potatoes and mashed them. Then, she added spring onions, breadcrumbs, salt, wine and other spices before stuffing them into the chicken. After that, she spread butter around the chicken and inserted it into the oven to roast.
At the same time, she grilled the salmon.
After grilling the fish, Waverly called Hayley to come over to have a taste.
Hayley took a bite and nodded in surprise, "It's delicious; it's really delicious. Madam, you can open a restaurant in the future and earn money."
"This is just a home-cooked dish. It's not a big deal. Compared with chefs in a restaurant, it is far from enough," Waverly said and poured all the oil out.
After grilling the salmon, the oil was not rancid. There was even a unique fragrance, which could be kept for later use.
She made pasta, pizza and salad.
"Madam, I think there are enough dishes. We still have a lot of pickled vegetables. The fresh vegetables won't spoil if they're kept in the refrigerator. The food is all ready, so it's not good to leave them overnight," Hayley suggested.
"I'll just make some soup. It's easy to make creamy mushroom soup," Waverly said. When she felt someone was at the door, she turned her head and saw Joseph.
He looked at her firmly, but there seemed to be some sympathy in his eyes, which made her very uncomfortable.
"When did you come here?" She asked.
"Just now. Is the meal ready?" He responded.
"I'll make some soup. After I reheat the salmon, you can have a taste of it."
He walked in and glanced at the dishes, "You cooked a lot of dishes. I brought some wine."
"Okay." She replied and continued to be busy with her work.
He walked out of the kitchen.
Hayley stretched her neck and looked at him sitting on the sofa. She pouted and said unhappily, "Why does he always come? With him here, how can I still enjoy my meal? There's so much delicious food."
"Then you eat first and let him eat the leftovers," Waverly said.
Hayley's eyes gleamed with cunningness. "Is it appropriate to do this?"
Nevertheless, she took out a piece of salmon fish from the plate and stuffed it into her mouth.
Waverly giggled, "Take everything you want first. Only then will I serve it outside."
"Madam, you're the best boss in this world." Hayley had oil stains on her lips.
Waverly decided to let her take the food she wanted before serving it outside.
Hayley followed behind her with a tray of food.
Joseph raised his head and frowned when he saw the smile on Hayley's face, "What are you laughing at?"
"Hmph." She harrumphed and did not care about Joseph's ridicule.
Waverly smiled. She liked Hayley because of her straightforward and simple character. The most important thing was that she was not afraid of death at all.
Joseph's eyebrows scrunched up even more and a murderous look shot out from his eyes.
Waverly was also afraid that he would really kill Hayley, so she blocked his sight and said, "Why are you so concerned about a little girl's smile?"
Joseph looked at her and his eyes flashed with strange fluctuations. He raised the corner of his mouth and said, "In order to keep you cheerful, I think I'd better not tell you who the murderer is, so your mood will stay well."
"You really are hateful. I feel content because I think the salmon cooked by Madam are delicious," Hayley said with dark eyes, and it seemed that she didn't lie.
"Is that so?" Joseph said evilly, "Then I'm going to eat all the salmon. Other than the food in the bowl, there's more in the kitchen, right?"
Hayley's eyes widened in anxiety. She grabbed Waverly's clothes and asked for help, "Madam."
"I have cooked a lot. You can't eat so much," she said.
"It doesn't matter, I can feed it to the dogs." Joseph stood up.
Waverly immediately blocked him and frowned, "How can you be so childish? She is just a little girl. Why do you bother yourself arguing with her? You make me feel that you are younger than her."
Joseph grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms, "Whether I'm a child or an adult, shouldn't you have known that? Yesterday you used adult products. Now, you are telling me this. Have you forgotten?"
Waverly's face suddenly turned red and she pushed his chest away, "You... You should let me go first. I have to serve the dishes."
Joseph turned his head to the other side and said to Hayley, "Hey, this is not suitable for children. Go and serve tea."
Hayley was in a dilemma. She looked at Waverly and then looked at Joseph, "Madam, I don't know which tea to serve. Please help me."
He looked down and there was a flash of light in his eyes. Then he kissed Waverly's lips.
Hayley covered her mouth in shock and didn't know what to do at the moment.
Waverly stepped back.
Joseph didn't force her. He licked her lips and said, "Have you secretly eaten the salmon?"
Waverly felt incredibly helpless, "You are so annoying."
She turned around and went into the kitchen.
Hayley blushed and followed. She thought for a while and said, "Madam, if I tried to kill him when he was kissing you, what would happen?"
"Joseph is a person with a strong sense of defense. His strength is above yours. You will be subdued by him before you start the fight. What do you think will happen?" Waverly reminded her.
