Chapter 1068 Fighting With Each Other

This question was too straightforward. She could answer yes, but their wedding wasn't going to happen anytime soon.
Moreover, Joseph's expression was extremely gloomy.
She knew too well how cruel and fierce he was.
She could also say no, but she would destroy the happiness in her heart. That happiness was too precious to her.
"Say something!" Joseph seethed with anger. The glare in his eyes lessen, but it still seemed like there was nowhere for her to hide.
"Is it even my decision as to whether I'm going to remarry?" Waverly rebuked as she met his gaze without flinching.
Bellamy sensed the unusual atmosphere between them.
At this moment, Yasmine walked over to them. She wore a purple and shiny long dress, which showed her delicate hourglass body figure.
Her gaze was on Joseph and Waverly. She smiled and said, "Did I miss something? Waverly, tell me about it."
Waverly let go of Bellamy's arm and approached Yasmine. She explained, "It was just a casual conversation. I forgot what it was about because it was boring."
Yasmine looked at Joseph, and her tone became even more gentle as she spoke, "Were you guys talking about something very boring?"
"Yes, it was boring," Joseph replied curtly. His gaze fell upon Waverly's face and he added sarcastically, "You're really getting more and more useless as you grow up. If you stay a coward for too long, you'll only become a good-for-nothing."
Waverly raised her head and glanced at Joseph, retorting, "Isn't me being a coward what you wanted? Or do you want me to take off my cowardly image from now on and show you what it means to be a strong person?"
"Strong person, as in you?" Joseph arrogantly turned around, took a few steps, and then turned back to look at Waverly again. His eyes were gloomy and he was smirking, looking at her mockingly.
Bellamy once again took Waverly's hand and walked her toward the door. He asked directly, "Is this what you mean that you've been doing well? He had bullied you a lot back in M Country, right? Don't lie to me. Apart from Hayley, I have other people around to keep tabs on you."
Waverly knew this. Even Hayley had mentioned it to her before.
However, she was sure that the others did not know the truth.
Otherwise, Bellamy would not have come to her to seek confirmation.
"You're his enemy and I'm on your side. It's normal that he's against me. However, like what we've mentioned, the Mccarthy family's fate is still in Thomson's hands. Joseph won't do anything to me," Waverly comforted him.
"You said that you can't decide whether to remarry me. What do you mean by that?" Bellamy then asked again.
"If I could decide, I wouldn't have divorced you. Do you think I can decide whether to get married again?" Waverly asked in return.
Bellamy tightened his grip on her hand. He swallowed hard and looked at her. There were words left unspoken behind his eyes.
Waverly smiled and added, "I used to argue with him a lot when I was a child. So, he is used to mocking me. It doesn't matter. There are always some people that we can't avoid, so I won't avoid them anymore. I'm fine. If I'm not, I'll call you."
Bellamy continued to stare at her. He was silent, not saying a word.
"Come on, let's go in quickly. Today is your big day," Waverly urged.
"It's our big day," Bellamy corrected her.
He held her hand and went in. Joseph sat in the main seat and had a red wine glass in his hand. He swirled the red liquid around as he stared at Waverly. He was very unhappy.
Hayley rushed to Joseph and said, "Please stand up, you're in the President's seat."
"Go away!" Joseph said furiously, "I'll sit wherever I want to. Who sets the rule that this is the President's seat?"
Hayley's eyes turned red, and she noticed that Joseph had a bad temper. She looked at Waverly and called for help, "Madam..."
"Indeed, things change according to the person's will. That seat was originally reserved for the host, so the seat should change according to the host's will," Waverly said.
Joseph sneered as his gaze turned cold. "You sure are bold."
"Just a minute ago, you said I was a coward. Please make up your mind. Am I a coward, or am I bold?" Waverly responded bluntly.
"A coward does not have common sense. They are ignorant and foolishly brave, but they die fast because of that. Choose wisely," Joseph whispered.
"Then I really want to do something foolishly brave." Bellamy interrupted and ordered the bodyguard, "The madam isn't feeling well. I'll accompany her and leave first. You guys should take good care of the rest."
"Yes, Mr. President."
Bellamy then took Waverly's hand and walked out of the door. They left the banquet hall and got into the car.
He looked ahead and said, "I think I was being irrational..."
"Yes," Waverly responded. "It didn't look like your style. Even when you didn't like it, you wouldn't show it to others."
"It seems that I dislike Joseph even more than I could imagine. I couldn't even control myself," Bellamy uttered with a smile.
Waverly looked down.
She had once watched a TV drama but she couldn't recall the name of it. There was a plot in it that she couldn't understand at that time.
There was a father and daughter who performed at a bar. They were bullied by the young and wicked man. Then, a chivalrous man came over and saved them.
The father and daughter begged the man not to involve himself in other people's business, but that young man couldn't understand and still meddled in their business. He even gave the vicious man a good beating.
Later, when he went to the bar again, he could no longer see the father and daughter duo.
Only then did he realize that because he had beaten that evil young master and since he could not protect the father and daughter at all times, the duo had no place to stay and could only leave.
The father and daughter long knew that they could avoid being bullied by leaving the place, but for the sake of their livelihood, they endured the bullying and tried to survive in the midst of hardships.
It felt so good earlier to see Joseph getting embarrassed and humiliated.
However, since Joseph could come to the President's Mansion without a moment's notice, he could take Bellamy's life without anyone knowing.
"Bellamy, Sean owned the President's Mansion before and several of his generations lived there as well. I think there are some secret pathways in the President's Mansion," Waverly pointed out.
"I've once sent people to search the place, but they didn't discover anything," Bellamy replied.
"Since it is a secret pathway, it must be very well hidden. Perhaps it's behind the walls, under the floor, or by the lake. I always felt that the President's Mansion is not safe. If possible, I think it's better to move out of there," Waverly hinted.
"If you don't like the place, I have to look for other places. After all, the relocation of the President's Mansion isn't a small matter. It's up to the Council to decide," Bellamy said.
"You need to add more guards in the President's Mansion. Joseph is very insidious and it's not easy to deal with him," Waverly reminded him.
Bellamy looked at her helplessly. "Since you know that he's not easy to deal with, why are you still staying in the Mccarthy family?"
