Chapter 982 Love At First Sight

"Do you understand what you need to do?" Cynthia asked.
Waverly shook her head, "The information here only states the ingredients necessary for biopharmaceuticals, as well as their medical effects. There's nothing else. I've never learnt how to make biopharmaceuticals, so I don't quite understand what's going on. What does Madam Lenny want me to do?"
Cynthia sneered, "You're not as smart as they say after all. Telling you the ingredients of biopharmaceutical is so that you can go shopping for them. You've just come to the Ministry of External Affairs, so you're a new face. If you're the one who's buying the ingredients, no one would be suspicious."
Waverly smiled.
Although she was indeed a newcomer to the Ministry of External Affairs, she was definitely not a new face. She was afraid that there would be paparazzi following her because of her previous status. She said, "I understand now. Is it okay for me to speak to Madam Lenny about the details?"
"Madam Lenny is extremely busy. Don't tell me that you can't even handle such a small matter?" Cynthia said unhappily.
Waverly just smiled and remained quiet. She then took the file and went out.
Cynthia failed to understand what Waverly meant.
Waverly took the files and knocked on the door of Madam Lenny's office.
"Come in," Madam Lenny said in a deep voice.
Waverly pushed the door open and entered to see Madam Lenny typing on the computer. Upon seeing Waverly enter, she put her work aside and asked with a smile, "What's the matter?"
"Miss Dolvin has given me the information. She says that you want me to buy the materials. Is that right?" Waverly said in a gentle tone.
"That's what I meant," Madam Lenny did not deny it.
"First of all, I would like to thank you, Madam Lenny. However, I don't think this is a good idea. Truth be told, there are still many people watching me. No matter if it's paparazzi or people hiding in the shadows, if they see me buying biological ingredients, I'm afraid they'll implicate you," Waverly said.
"That's why I'm going to put the entire company under your name. You running a biopharmaceutical company won't cause any problems to arise. All you need to do is to be responsible for purchasing the ingredients, production, sales and so on. Do you not want that?" Madam Lenny asked with a smile.
"Since you've said so, then I don't have to worry about involving you. My reputation is already in tatters anyways. It doesn't matter if I start a company," Waverly said while smiling.
"Then, I'll have to trouble you. I will compensate for the purchasing fee. I'll transfer the money from Switchland Bank to your account. The supplier will look for you directly," Madam Lenny said.
"Alright. I will register the company shortly and get in touch with the supplier," Waverly replied.
"As for the details, you can consult Miss Dolvin. She's mainly responsible for this project. Good luck, I have faith in you," Madam Lenny smiled.
Waverly went out of the office and nodded when she saw Cynthia approaching.
Cynthia also nodded calmly and went to look for Madam Lenny.
"Did she say that she didn't want to do it?" she asked Madam Lenny.
"She actually agreed to it without hesitation," Madam Lenny turned her gaze back to the computer screen.
"She's not as simple as we think she is," Cynthia said with a worried expression.
"It doesn't really matter. It's just a small project and it's a good way to test her. Besides, she has already agreed to register the company under her name. If anything happens, she'll be the scapegoat. Isn't that good?" Madam Lenny spoke calmly.
"Then, I'll ask the suppliers over there to contact her. However, she won't notice anything wrong, will she?" Cynthia was still worried.
"I've already had some people purchase the most important ingredients. No one will notice anything amiss just by looking at the ingredient list written there. I still have things to take care of. You can leave now," Madam Lenny said.
"Alright," Cynthia respectfully placed the other document on Madame Lenny's hand.
"Also, check out the surveillance footage and see what she's doing right now." Madam Lenny instructed.
"Alright."
*******
Waverly returned to her seat, stuffed the documents into her bag and continued to read her book.
The information that she received had both its advantages and disadvantages. She wanted to go back and ask Bellamy about it in detail as Bellamy was the only person she trusted.
She still had more important things to do at night.
Her cell phone rang.
She saw that it was from Thomson, so she answered it quickly, "Uncle Thomson."
"Waverly, I..." Thomson hesitated.
Waverly had a bad feeling in her heart. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"Something has gone wrong with the Moore family. The gathering tonight has been cancelled. However, you can be rest assured that I'll find you a better one," Thomson said.
As soon as she heard Thomson's words, she knew that Yazoo would no longer go on a blind date with her. She replied, "I see. Thank you, Uncle Thomson."
"Waverly, don't be sad. There are still plenty of handsome men here. Give me some time," Thomson comforted her again.
"Okay," Waverly answered. "Perhaps we weren't meant to be."
"Stay at ease and focus on your work. I'll take care of things here," Thomson said.
"Okay," Waverly replied softly.
Truth be told, she was disappointed.
Suddenly, she was reminded of how Joseph had threatened her with her blind date.
In the first place, the Moore family had already agreed to hold the blind date. Since they had gone back on their word for no rhyme or reason, the matter must have had something to do with Joseph.
She clearly remembered that Thomson had said that it was the Moore family who had first requested to meet her. What kind of method had Joseph used to get the Moore family to listen to him?
She sent a message to Bobe, asking, "Do you know Spencer, the Minister of the Navy?"
"Yeah, I do. What's the matter?"
"Help me find his son, Yazoo's address. I want to meet him tonight," Waverly requested.
"What about the things that I want? You can't just request things from me and not give me some kind of compensation," Bobe inquired.
"I have the Thunder Gun in my hand, but I need it for self-defense at the moment. I'll give it to you after 3 years."
"Really? You have the gun? You can't even find it on the market anymore. It's a limited edition! I guess there's one or two in Joseph's hands. Are you actually willing to give one to me?" Bobe was surprised.
"I don't like these types of things. To me, they're worthless. I keep it because of the situation I'm in. It's no problem if I give them to you."
Bobe was very delighted, "It's a deal. You're going to give me your Thunder Gun. If you go back on your promise, I will chase you to the end of the world."
"Fine. Quick, ask someone to investigate Yazoo's address. I want to meet him." Waverly said.
"Okay, I'll send it to you when I find it," he hung up on the call after he finished speaking.
Waverly looked at the phone silently.
She couldn't let Joseph destroy her plans and let him lead her around by the nose every time.
"Is that General Mccarthy? He's so handsome," someone in the office said.
"I've seen him on TV before. He looks even better in person."
"He's looking over here. Oh my god, I think I'm going to faint."
Waverly took a casual look outside the window and met with Joseph's gaze that was looking over in her direction.
The corners of his mouth curled up. His smile was firm, as if everything was under his control. There was a sense of ridicule laced in it as well.
"Wow, he looks even better when he's smiling. I heard that he is currently the richest man in M Country. It would be nice if I could befriend him," someone in the office fawned over him.
