Chapter 975 Once The Flowers Start Blooming, It Means That Winter Has Passed Us By
Upon hearing his words, she refused to believe that Joseph would actually tell her about his plans.
He was an incredibly strategic and ambitious man. If he were to tell her about his schemes, it was probably part of his plan and she was a pawn in it.
Seeing the skepticism in her eyes, Joseph could not help smiling, "I am a man of my word. Otherwise, Bellamy would definitely die if he came to M Country this time!"
"You wouldn't kill him out in the open. He's here for an interview anyways," Waverly tried to get him to reveal his plans.
"Who is he interviewing?" Turning the tap, Joseph ran his fingers through the water to feel its temperature. He spoke languidly, "It must be the current king. If the president of A Country dies in M Country, the people of A Country would dethrone the current king. If he loses his power, that would be my opportunity to step in."
After saying so, his eyes fell on Waverly's face. They sparkled like the ocean, radiating colors, confidence and aggressiveness.
With a pale face, Waverly pursed her lips and looked back at him.
"What's your plan?" Waverly asked. She wanted to listen to it first and then make a judgment.
"I'm in a bad mood now. Take off your clothes." Joseph said.
Waverly frowned, "I don't think you'll feel any better once we're done. Besides, you have a wound on your back. If the wound opens up again, then that would be bad. Did you bring your medication? I'll apply it for you."
Joseph narrowed his eyes, "So you do know how to care for me."
Waverly turned to look at the ground, her long lashes obscuring the glint in her eyes, "I heard that you got hurt because of me. I'm not that heartless. However, give me some time to bathe as I've just finished exercising and I sweated quite a bit."
Hearing her, Joseph wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him, locking his eyes on hers in a deep gaze.
She knew that she couldn't avoid his gaze, so she looked straight at him.
Joseph immediately attacked her with a kiss.
Waverly knew that even if she retreated or resisted, Joseph would never let her go.
Humans were constantly in situations where they had to size up, grit their teeth and do things they didn't want to. Truth be told, doing so was for their own good.
Thus, she closed her eyes and stayed still.
Joseph pressed the back of her head and stuck his tongue deep down her throat. His kiss was strong and overbearing, just like his personality. His strong aura of aggressiveness and brutality swamped over her.
Indeed, he was very arrogant and also extremely overpowering.
After a minute, he still had his lips plastered onto hers. She was gradually beginning to feel out of breath and her lips were starting to feel numb. Everything they had done felt longer than doing the actual deed.
Waverly couldn't help but wonder when he would let her go. There was no way he was going to kiss her for an hour straight, right?
Gripping her hand, he placed it onto his chest.
Waverly wanted to retrieve her hand, but he held onto it tightly, not letting her budge.
Waverly was getting annoyed. If she failed to comply, he was going to threaten her life. If she did, then her safety would be guaranteed for now.
The more she tried to escape, the more Joseph would try to restrain her.
Summoning all the strength she had within her, she copied him by holding the back of his head.
Seeing her actions, the corners of Joseph's mouth curled up.
This was the real Waverly. Just like when she was a child, despite being weak and not favored by the Mccarthy family, she had rebelled against him with her own strength. She wasn't the sort of girl who pretended to be meek and hide in a corner. The way Bellamy had treated her ridded her of her sharp spirit and attitude.
He kissed her even more passionately, as if he intended to suck the life out of her.
This time, Waverly did not attempt to resist. It was useless to do so anyway. All of it would eventually result in her being treated as a lifeless blow-up doll. He would've done whatever he wanted to her regardless.
Instead of being manipulated by him, she felt that it was better if she were the one in control.
Before returning to the country, she had made up her mind to protect what she wanted to protect, just like a general. She had decided that she would guard her chastity.
In the end, it had all been useless. After numerous battles, the enemy was clearly stronger than her. Her virginity had long been gone. She was tainted and used.
After all, it wasn't like Bellamy cared about her, anyway. In his heart, there was only Stella, and Stella alone. She was the one he worshipped.
It was impossible for her to become Bellamy's beloved. It was also impossible for her to become his wife, as she couldn't even become his comrade and be there for him!
With all that in mind, she reciprocated Joseph's kiss for the first time.
No, it wasn't a kiss in return. Instead, it was more like her venting everything she had kept on the inside. She felt like a tiny fish, entangled among seaweed and she was using all her strength in order to break free.
Joseph was so startled that he started panting. Although her kissing needed some more technique, it was still the first time she had voluntarily kissed him. That made him fall into a daze.
Still pressing his lips against hers, Joseph refused to let go of her. After a long time, a tired look swept across his face and he observed her quietly.
"I love you," Waverly said out of nowhere.
Joseph looked at her with a frown. His face was calm, but his disordered breathing betrayed his emotions.
It was as if all the oxygen in his body had left him. Waves pounded against his heart until it began to tremble.
He leaned in and kissed her deeply once again.
Waverly looked at the door sadly and closed her eyes.
I love you!
Those three words were incredibly difficult to convey through actions, but they were easily uttered by the mouth. It was so easy, too easy that she suddenly felt as if all those words held no more meaning.
Wait, that wasn't right. Her love wasn't worthless, but it had never been appreciated by anyone.
After getting his fill of excitement, Joseph finally let her go.
"Now that you're in a good mood, can you tell me about your plan?" Waverly asked.
A cold light flashed in Joseph's eyes. The corners of his mouth tugged and he sneered. Gripping onto her chin, he said sarcastically, "I really want to kill you."
Waverly looked at him calmly, "I've never been afraid of life and death, nor do I have anything left here that I cherish. I'm all alone in this world, so you should know that I wouldn't care even if you killed me."
He pursed his lips tightly and stared at her, "Your life is mine. If you die without my permission, I promise you that everything you care about will be destroyed."
He roughly let go of her face and pulled up the zipper of his pants. While buckling his belt, he looked at her coldly as he said, "I was the one who suggested to the king to invite Bellamy over. If you do not wish for him to die, you know what to do."
Picking up his clothes from the rack, he walked out of the bedroom half-naked.
Waverly lowered her eyes and looked at the water that was overflowing from the bathtub. Instinctively, she turned off the faucet.
She knew very well that she couldn't convince Bellamy to not come. The only person who could do that was Stella.
Her childhood had not been a pleasant one. She had been beaten by her mother, bullied by her aunties and Joseph. At that time, she had prayed for a prince to descend from heaven and take her away. From then on, she would live a happy life, just like in fairytales.
However, as expected, fairytales were just fairytales. Living in a fantasy wasn't realistic.
A few years later, her mother had divorced her father. Although her father had nothing, Waverly had decided to live with her father, because her desire to leave the Mccarthy family had been too strong. She wanted to leave that shady and ruthless place.
On the inside, her heart was so frigid it felt like her blood was going to freeze into ice.
